maybe he did die and that scene in the elevator is his dying self in the hospital getting thrown back into this body and he gets to do redo significant points in his life. to make the right choice. maybe his past self really did hit and run, and walk away from his friend who killed dome. but i'm still confused about why he's seeing himself with dr. tyme.
