Simon and family are okay after the shooting in Prague, right?
Worst part is that they bring in people who support the fighters by drug trade bringing instability to Bangladesh but people killed were the ones who didn't fight since the fighters escaped to the sea and even in Bangladesh(The south east side of Bangladesh is really lawless only reason was this)
Edit:I also forgot Buddhists in Bangladesh are getting even worse treatments because of you know what I remember where a 2 villages were burned due to hate
Edit 2:When they cam prices hiked 15% now it went to 30% you economy hardly give us a little security we just can't help them plus drug trade is getting worse day by day
Rohingya is a problem... they are bad... they are Hamas of Asia. but they were not powerful like Hamas , so they got butchered by Myanmar people … Some of them are in India , and they are contributing a good amount of criminal activity.

I am sure she turns blind eye when genocides are commited by "peaceful religion" people
Well it is all bad and sad until n unless not directed to miss murad's community
Specifically, Nadia Murad should be at a minimum deeply indifferent to the genocide of Muslims, considering how much grief she and her nation have endured throughout their history from Muslims.
Who is Nadia Murad?
I'm glad this is getting media attention again ... I hope Myanmar and Bangladesh manage to sort things out.
Peace be with you all! 🙏🙏🙏

What’s his part? It’s well in the past, although not to belittle it; Simon had nothing to do with it. His part is providing an entraining spin on short glimpses of history for a living. Nothing past that. It’s a good story, he owes nothing.
This video as is typical with many of Simon's videos about controversial subjects just misses out inconvenient parts like the following:
- The Rohingya Muslims fought a war with the Burmese government from the 1940's to the 1980's with the aim of ethnically cleansing Rakhine Province of Burmese Buddhists and taking the land for themselves then having the Bangladeshi Army annex it so i was no longer part of Myanmar.
- The Rohingya failed in their aim so a ceasefire was put in place between them and the Burmese government in the 80's.
- The Rohingya Muslims broke this ceasefire in the early 2000's when they started going into Buddhist villages in Rakhine Province and massacring people.
- Rohingya Muslims also began marrying their men to the local Buddhist women. While doing this they would also murder couples where Buddhist men had married Rohingya Muslim women.
I'm not saying any of this justifies the Myanmar Governments behavior as it doesn't. This situation is two groups trying to ethnically cleanse each other so they could control a piece of land, then the Western media acting like the losing side is innocent and did nothing wrong (because of their religion and a UN beef with Myanmar over 2004 aid money stolen by Myanmar Government and Military top brass after that typhoon in 2004). The moral of this story is never trust the Western media, UN (or Simon's videos anymore because he always pushes the establishment narrative whether it is true or not).
@@sleevemcdichael5841 It's always "poor Muslims, they are so mistreated" but it's never "What did they do to receive such cruelty"?
@@CornPopsDood an entertaining spin that on purpose missed out an almost 4 decade conflict between the Rohingya and the Myanmar Government followed by a 20 year ceasefire because it proves this was a war not an innocent party being oppressed for no reason. This makes this video nothing more than propaganda.
This channel should be called "Why Humans Suck"
Not a lot of genocide is committed by people who aren’t politicians/police/military but sure “humans”
@@nicholaszikos3851 Everyone is capable of participating or otherwise supporting a genocide. Its in our DNA. We are fundamentally flawed.
@@nicholaszikos3851well yes the ones committing these crimes against humans are other humans
It is wrong to say that Malaysia and Indonesia and Thailand are not willing to help. We did. In 2017, we took many of them in. The results? Crime rates increase, they open business selling local products which competes with local, in the apartment which I'm living in, a Rohingya man boosted of his business success (driving a luxurious car) before being detained for not paying taxes, you can often see red bearded Rohingya man with underage girls (holding hands) that is DEFINTIELY not their daughter or grand daughter, videos of Rohingya complaining that food provided is not enough, throwing rubbish into the rivers, using public spaces as toilet, etc. There are also protest or demand by this group to demand land or certain states or areas to be given to them, request for more rights the same as locals, etc. So you tell me - besides driving them away, what are we supposed to do?
In Malaysia, due to our location as the Guardian of Strait of Melaka, and generally wealthier country, there are many refugess in this country, stretch from as far as I personally know from Iraq or Palestine. They assimilate and we welcome them. They do not compete with locals - selling Arab food or goods, pay their taxes, and we generally leave them alone. After Myanmar Civil War started, I personally know of at least TEN Myamnar Buddhist - living peacefully in Malaysia (without valid papers). They work in Food and Breverages, long hours up to 12 hours a day, get paid like any other regular migrants, but no locals attack them or go against them. We leave them alone, cos like us, they are here to make a living, and they do not demand for same rights as local.
They know they are here to work, and leave in due time, whether back to Myanmar or marry a local, etc. But when you start making problems to the locals, and create bad and unhealthy culture (mostly underage 13-15 years old marriage), then we have problems.
It’s funny that on every continent where “the religion of peace” appears all the same problems start happening.
What do you expect? Their prophet married Aisha, a six years old child.
Yep. Agree from Thailand. Those people who are crying human rights will not take any one of them in
Agreed, Thai here. It's easy to say that we are heartless for rejecting them, but WE DID, and like you have said, the crime rate in the area was rampant, and reduced to normal when we deported those ungrateful immigrants.
The leftist westerners will say whatever they want, but do not take any of those immigrants.
Totally agree from Indonesia. Western media that cover this issue, recently, only victimized rohingnya w.o explain the reason why now we refuse to take them in,while at the beginning we are very welcomed to help them. They make it very biased w.o cover the whole issue. The only solution is those strong & rich western countries need to take them in asap, but I doubt they will do it although they are the one who responsible to take refugee,as they are in difficult situation now financially & I dont think they would like to take rohingnyas in once they figure out rohingnyas behaviour

Oh please stop using the victim card. It's pathetic at this point. Muslims aren't known to be tolerant towards minority religions since their inception. Thank you Simon for doing your part to remind the West that there are still genocides happening in places not named Ukraine or Palestine. Could you please do one about the Uighur people of China? The Chinese Government is waging deliberate genocide against them and has been actively trying to suppress any news about the genocide.

@@alopeksintx2959by definition there is.
@@alopeksintx2959 "Gaza: UN experts call on international community to prevent genocide against the Palestinian people" from the UN's website.
"The State of Israel has been accused of inciting or carrying out genocide against the Palestinians during the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. This accusation is linked to the conceptualization of Israel as a settler colonial state.[1][2] Those who believe Israel's actions constitute genocide typically point to the phenomena of anti-Palestinianism, Islamophobia, anti-Arab racism in Israeli society, and they cite the Nakba, the Sabra and Shatila massacre, the blockade of the Gaza Strip, the 2014 Gaza War and the 2023 Israel-Hamas war as material instantiations of genocide.[3][4]
International law and genocide scholars have accused Israeli officials of using dehumanizing language.[5] During the 2023 Israel-Hamas war, historian of genocide Omer Bartov warned that statements made by top Israeli officials "could easily be construed as indicating a genocidal intent."[6] " from Wikipedia.
I am going to go ahead and say you are wrong.
Except it's not a genocide. Not even Antony Blinken or the UK government themselves have any evidence to offer to the 2020 Uyghur tribunal held in the UK.
I’m grateful that you made a video for this. The media and online users on social media like Twitter have fallen to selective outrage which I find disgusting but bringing more awareness to other atrocities being committed helps relieve that problem in our discourse today.
Ranong is a Thai province bordering myanmar. It is suffering the final throws of economic migration from there. Thai's are now a minority. Business has been destroyed by the pay downgrade. I seen this and my family. Young thai's leave as it is becoming an empty husk.
I think this is a view into the future.
Islam brings nothing but misery and destruction
Random but ok dude
Sorry to hear that you and your close ones also suffer from the acts of Myanmar. It's easy to forget that responsible ones aren't the refugees - it's the people who they are fleeing and to some extent the government of the nation they fled to.
This is one of the effects that is rarely discussed considering civil wars or other horrible events. Neighboring countries always take the biggest group of refugees, as people leaving don't have the means to go further, want to be in familiar cultural setting, they can't speak foreign languages so they stick together with others in the same position. Those people need to be spread over large area, and schooled to the local language, customs and such. It's brutal that the way to make refugees feel at home and make them productive to society is to break their only societal tie to whom they are and locate them not in one place, but in small groups over large areas. That way they are accepted as they aren't a threat to locals and they have better chance at making friends an getting work, at integrating. Integration is NOT the same as forgetting ones roots or customs.
Thi government should put pressure on myanmar junta
@@mayazmahmud1740 Junta is not this weak. Do you know why even your Anglo cousins like USA and UK can't even touch Myanmar?

"More fierce and lazy" Im sorry we're talking about the people being raped and murdered correct?
I’m glad you brought this atrocity up. Its very shameful that its not being covered more
Sylvester Stallone made this the backdrop in Rambo 4 back in 2008. Back when Myanmar was call d Burma. And from from what I understand a lot of the atrocities the villains committed in the film are *not* exaggerated or altered for dramatic effect. The main villain was even played by a former rebel that fled to Thailand who wanted to raise awareness about what was happening there. This was 5 years, in 5 days 6 years, ago. And look at the nation now. *Nothing* has changed.
The backdrop was in Kayin. (Karen) state, on the other side of the country bordering Thailand. But yes what's been shown on screen is very much toned down from reality which is much worse.
That's why when I tell people I'm Buddhist and they react with "That's awesome! Buddhists are so peaceful compared to these other religions" I let them know about this, not enough people know. It's horrible.
All religions can be made to be violent be it Buddhism or Christianity. Never forget the Crusades!
Muslims will push anyone. If you read the Quran you will understand
Karmas a bitch for islam
It's not a poor example of Buddhism, but rather example of the power of right wing ideology. They ALWAYS use some religion or another as a multifaceted tool: shield, sword, and smokescreen. Even a religion as peaceful sounding on paper as Buddhism.
This is how Indian Hindus and western evangelicals have become buddies. It's how billions of Muslims adored jordan peterson right up till the day he revealed his support for zionism. The right wing always see eye to eye on one thing - maintaining their preferred status quo no matter the cost.
@@dreamsalamander I'm surprised you didn't Trump in that post. Seems everything in the little realm that was created in your head by others will lead back to the 'right wing' or OrangeManBad.
I remember this being a thing people were upset about in 2016. Everyone was upset about it for a week, and then everyone moved on to the next thing. It's when I started realizing how difficult it is getting people to care about something for longer than a day. Most people do care, but can't care for very long because they, themselves, are struggling and to preoccupied with keeping their own heads above water.
Fair enough.
It's the people that make a show of caring that are rotten. They make it their whole personality, change their profile picture to a flag or symbol, and interrupt every conversation in the comments with their new cause. They use suffering and death to make themselves look good, but what's truly awful is that these are the people who will make sure no one forgets about the causes.
Unfortunately, they're also the same people that make the everyday person tune out because they're so in-your-face.
Yes it their fault. Not our society that can measure attention spans by the microseconds(and made to be that way) or the politicians/corporations that support any evil to line their own pockets.
I know what poeple you're talking about, but what is better? Blanket, self-absorbed ignorance like the rest ? How f-ed up the world is, including in the US is overwhelming. Trying to raise attention is like plugging holes in a sinking ship. What have you done for anyone with your limited power and means? Tell us how you make change
So virtue signaling
If you need a textbook example, refer to your post ❄️
You should tell them jews are doing it, you'll see people marching in the streets calling for end of the genocide. This is just a smaller part of the massive war on minorities in myanmar. As a burmese citizen, there are news about a remotr village being burned everyday. I just want to inform that this is not just a rohinga issue, it is a whole issue about the junta's grip on power
By western media, it is only rohingya issue and Burmese buddhist are evil and are all same, me,you are Min Aung Hlaing are same,
Now these uncivilized people are killing each other.
We seriously need our own burmese media to educate about our country to the world.
With my limited knowledge on Myanmar I'm incline to agree with you but the thing about the Rohingya issue is how it appears to be endorsed by the citizens. I do hope this is government propaganda and the civilians doing the rioting are a relative few but it seems like this is the one abuse everyone accepts over there.
@SEAZNDragon Well, any stuff about the rohingya rarely get talked about here, it is more like everyone forgot about it and cared more on the current civil war.
@SEAZNDragon The government also use their propoganda devices, and since most of myanmar's population have limited education, they are using it to explain the injustice carried out by them
People also feel indifferent to the genocide like the feeling of "oh another bad thing else where". In Myanmar, people started to just think about how to live for tomorrow and stop, not caring but like start being indifferent, about the atrocities, not only for rohingya but also for other ethnicities
Humanity just never learns from its past mistakes
It's because there are unlimited wants of mankind and a limit of resources on the planet
Therefore it will always breed conflict

They succeeded until 2021 when all the new generations outright rejected anything military says and they are the main component of the resistance in Myanmar 2021 civil war.
there is one important fact that this documentary FAILED TO MENTION:
Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and a few other neighboring countries (especially the islamic ones) actually started out as very helpful in welcoming the Rohingya refugees in the beginning, even created all sorts of programs to help them settle down and such.
but over years, all these countries slowly changed from being very supportive to outright hating these refugees, they are not adorable at all, they dont appreciate the help, cause civil disorder, and keep giving the local citizens of the host counties all the reasons in the world to despise them.

as somone living in the region, i can tell you that these things are complicated and all the countries in SEA have a strong underlying problem that can be described vaguely as 'selfishness'. To go into detail would be difficult in a single comment.
But suffice to say, i guarantee you that what happened isn't as simple as countries being super kind to ungrateful refugees who keep causing problems.
I say this because i know for sure these countries never act in a near-purely selfless humanitarian manner that some rich EU countries can sometimes afford to do so. Yup that makes sense.
Pretty much. Just about any group without power is liable to favour a philosophy of peace and tolerance because they know that they are vulnerable to the whims of the powerful. When that group obtains power, they want to defend it, violently if necessary. Once a religion gains power, they tend to develop a war doctrine VERY quickly.
Religion is one hella effective and scary weapon
Yes but some religions are more extreme than others
Its crazy that even the most peace loving religion (that I know of) is capable of such a radical movement. It proves to me that no religion is inherently good or evil, but instead it is the "people" that use religion for their own agenda that are inherently evil. I really hope the actual Buddhists denounce this and try to show the radicals what their religion is actually about.

@@haleyguthrie3113 well at least humans didn't invent war
@rejvaik00 yes we did. And used invisible gods to justify it. For land, money, resources, women and simply hating our neighbors. It's nature.
A religion is a belief system that literally "links poeple" together. It is meant to provide a moral/ethic code and try to explain how we are what we are.
If you step back most have the same basic principles, but we let the particularities forever separate us. Most religions preach treating others with some grace/respect you would give yourself/those close to you, but humans pick and choose what aspects they want to follow.
What is more important are the core principles that are often twisted and unrecognizable. For example, I'm telling you the VAST majority of Christian churches, including the cult of Catholicism, having nothing to do with what is marked does as what Jesus said. For example, Jesus ssid it is basically impossible for a rich man to go into heaven. And yet, we worship $ and those who have it. Look at these televangelists. People are sheep and there are wolves

@@ogolow570 That's not true at all. It has nothing to do with their genetics or appearance, it's to do with culture. Kaman Muslims look exactly like Rohingyas but with light brown skin but their culture is more similar to Bamar Buddhists and the language they speak (Arakanese) is closely related to Burmese. Tatmadaw of Myanmar believes in Burmanisation and so groups that are culturally unrelated to Bamar face persecution in hopes that they will become Burmanised. Hui are also closely related to Han Chinese in language and culture. Same thing in China, Sinicisation means that all groups culturally unrelated to Han face persecution in order to be Sinicised. China wants the Uyghur to be Sinicised and their practice of Islam must be compatible with Han Chinese culture just like Hui who practice a moderate form of Islam with significant Han Chinese influence in their culture.
Rohingyas are Indo-Aryan mixed with Tibeto-Burman, Rohingyas don't all look the same. Some Rohingyas look more like the majority of Bamar Buddhists like Wai Wai Nu who is a pro-democracy activist of Rohingya descent. Also, Bamar Buddhists are diverse, some of them look remarkably closer to the majority of Rohingya like Major General Soe Naing Oo and Burmese actor, Hugo Naing. Same thing with Uyghurs, some Uyghurs look more similar to Han Chinese. It's do with culture rather than appearance, only some government officials in Myanmar have made unjust remarks about Rohingyas and called them anti-Muslim slurs but I would say that's the result of Rohingyas in the 1940s campaigning to become part of Pakistan, which is why the Rohingya Hindus and Christians are treated better than their Muslim counterparts. It also explains why in the past Kaman were xenophobic towards Rohingyas. Until 2021, many viewed Rohingya Muslims as traitors.

There were muslim communities in Arakan state in more older times but they were mainly traders and were small in numbers. I’m Rakhine Ethnic Minority from Burma. I’m grateful to see us getting genuine attention from you.
Some of the things are a bit off.
1. Rakhine State always been Buddhist state even way before Islam reach south east Asia (look up Mauke Oo, capital of ancient Rakhine)
We always had freedom of religion and some of locals Rohingya were converted to Islam not when foreigners were introduced to region.
Needless to say Rohingya are always been minorities within minority Rakhine. I’m not proud of what Burmese & Some Rakhine have done on the Rohingya people but claiming the whole entire state as there own Muslim state is equivalent of getting a ticket and claiming you own the whole bus.
2. I’m not surprised but the events in the history, you has been told by Rohingya as Rohingya centric. If you do a bit of research, you’ll figure out multiple ethnic from Myanmar had similar experiences only except they wouldn’t blame the whole state but their tribal villages.
And British bringing Rohingya back to Burma is also incomplete, British bring half a million of Indians (sik, pancha, and various others ethnic) into Burma as farm hands. They had had fair share of scrutiny from the government because you know it’s Burmese government is the military. But the rest of society, except them as brothers and cousins. They’re not talking about taking over the land.
I really hope this end up good for Rohingya because even the other South East Asian Muslim nations are no longer accepting them.
Rohingyas are Indo European people. How are they overlapping the Sino Tibetan speaking people directly in Myanmar. Their genetics is no different than Bengali people according DNA test done in Malaysia and Thailand. Also their language is very close to Bangla with thick accent. There were no Indo European in this region until 1200 AD.

It's a diverse country, the first people in Myanmar were Austroasiatic Mon, everybody else came later. However, to say that Rohingyas are not native to Myanmar just because they speak an Indo-European language is NOT true! Maramagyi people in Myanmar speak a language that is classified as Indo-European and yet they are native to Myanmar and culturally related to majority Rakhine people. What does genetic testing prove? I think most people miss understand this onesided conflict. This is not based on religion as much as it is about race. A lot of Rohinga hindus have crossed over here in Bangladesh as well as muslims. In the late 70's president Zia asked them to come over, why didn't they? If they came over this "conflict" could have been avoided. Yes. Malaysian and Indonesian are well known to be very welcoming of foreigners. A lot of foreigners end up living in Malaysia for this reason. They can get jobs, families, home in Malaysian. As long as they are willing to live alongside the locals. But rohingnya demanded to be on the top, to be given privileges like the locals and more. Accusing muslim in Malaysia refusing to help them.

@emptyhad2571 as far as I could learn noone in the wider region of Asia and Arabia likes them.
There seems to be a reason as to why they have been refugees for centuries.
But there is a lot of misinformation going around so the best I can do is guess. So take all of it with a dead sea amount of salt.
So.
Apparently the Rohyngians never integrated wherever they went. Simon says they integrated into Burmees society, but that is disputed by many and many also cite this lack of even a willingness to integrate as the reason for their expulsion by the british.
In later Myanmar they also apparently never wanted to integrate, refusing schooling and integration attempts preffering setting up their own government systems, schools, religious institutions and more. The claimed act which started this genocide is the burning down of Buddhist communities by the Rohyngian people as well as other atrocities. Apparently with the goal of forming their own state in the region, there are similar claims of them trying the same in Burma
But again. There is a lot of contradicting information and outright false information going around so I honestly can not tell what is going on.
After all the entire "self govern" style could be a consequence of treatment they received rather than an omnipresent goal.
To me it seems likely that any presence of a justification (whatever that may entail) for a limited intervention was used to launch a massive persecution and elimination campaign.
How is this not on main stream media. Unbelievable!

@@user-py1gl6xm4f A big problem is that when this conflict first became mainstream news back in 2016 you could find a lot more about it. I had a whole bunch of sources which magically disappeared from the internet all at the same time which suggest an orchestrated attempt to cover up what the Rohingya living in Rakhine state were actually doing between the early 2000's and 2016 (a genocide). Wikipedia bizarrely enough does the best job. It misses out the ceasefire, 2000-2016 and focuses on foreign actors attacking the Burmese government but at least it admits this was a decades long two sided conflict that caused the Burmese Governments brutal crackdown. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rohingya_conflict

World should know the atrocities by Rohingyas.
They come, occupy and then increase in number. Once majority they claim that the land is an is....c land.
In India the same is happening.
Actually they are the ones who are ethnically cleansing non Mu....s
Thankyou for informing us
i am speechless. And all of that because religious ideology stands above human rights in some peoples minds. The center of most religions form the peace and stability within your community and yourself. Hearing about this as a Buddhist myself makes me sick. In no type of Buddhism is this 'The Way of Buddha'.
Not an atheist but any religion can be used to commit atrocities when it is used as disguised political pych-ops. It happened to every religion and every nation in history. The fact is that religion plays a big part in forming national identities and maintaining societies but governments are never known to be ethical. My father always say "Words of God never lie but people do in the name of God".
And also the intent behind this was never about religion. The military junta brought in a lot of immigrants and gave them citizenship in exchange of votes in the 2015 election. They lost anyways, revoked their citizenship and commit a genocide trying to rectify their mistake. And during that time they used famous Monks in their pockets like Way Ya Thu and facebook to convince the population that there was a Islamic terrorists threat. They did this without consulting the than democratic government. Also they've been doing this to every other ethnics groups for years trying to create a state wide emergency situation so they re-established a military dictatorship without winning an election. The only reason the rohingya suffered a genocide is because they don't have a proper armed rebel forces like the others.
It's got nothing to do with Buddhism. The genocide against Rohingyas and other forms of violence towards ethnic minorities in Myanmar is the result of Bamar nationalism that supports the idea that Myanmar belongs to the Bamar and everybody else must undergo Burmanisation. It's ethnonationalism and isn't related to religion because the Tatmadaw/Bamar nationalists also persecute ethnic minorities who practice Buddhism like Shan, Rakhine and Karen. They want everybody to practice Bamar culture and be culturally adjacent to the Bamar. Many ethnic minorities in Myanmar have faced Burmanisation for decades like the Mon and Karen.
Maybe, the British empire should’ve kept its colonies. Seems they had a better grasp on governance without mass murder.
Tbh mate, it was more apathy than a show of proper governance which bought equality under British rule. However, whether millions die due to incompetance, greed or malice, it matters little to the dead and tens of millions did die before their time during British occupation.
Thank you brother for covering this video
This community isngoing to Indonesia on boats now and Indonesia government is worried now. The issue no one has accepted them no Bangladesh, pakistan or india. They have come to india illegally which now indian government is now scanning them in area of Kashmir. Islam is problem in every part of the of the world
Go to your Poojita Pojeet.
Your hate has blinded you to the obvious which, Bangladesh has nearly 1.6 million rohingya refugees, no country wants extreme number of refugees who, just for the simple fact that they'll have to provide space, food and basic amenities
Well... Your opinion is too extremist kind
It's so sad that one of the worst characteristics of "mankind" is the willingness to harm others. And, often, the people who cause harm are "religious"
Yes a lot of people don't know those facts about the monks here. Good video as those of us who live and work here can't talk about these things.
It’s CRAZY. I’ve heard a lot about monks in online media and I’ve never heard of one being even remotely bad. How dare they claim to be religious, honestly
Excellent video as always sir. It angers and saddens me that millions of lives have been lost throughout human history simply due to religion. It’s a poison that continues to kill even today…
Would you be willing to do a video on India's Operation Blue Star? I recently learned a bit about it and would love your deep dive.
Operation Bluestar was the doing of then govt Congress playing dirty politics going out of hands. It was a disgusting event
They had it coming, the villages they usually used to live in weren't originally exclusively theirs, Al-Jazeera made a video 10 yeas back exposing mass graves of non Muslims in their villages
wow, I'm actually shocked. Thank you so much for shedding light on this

Insightful & interesting Simon; certainly I was not aware to this depth of the Rohingya refugees ongoing struggle for acceptance & more basically survival. Troubles in the world today, Syria, Sudan, Gaza, Ukraine, Yemen, Myanmar , Haiti, Afghanistan .........& the list goes on. Sure glad & greatly appreciated that I live in Sydney Australia. You can always find something to whine about but with a global picture of what is happening in the world today it pales into insignificance. “The optimist sees the donut while the pessimist sees the hole”.
Bangladeshi here. The reason the government does the questionable stuff that it does with Rohinga people sometimes is because its been more then 5 years since the last biggest wave of refugees hit us and they are desperate to somehow find out a solution to them. We brought them in with open arms and still have sympathy but its waining. For a country that is considered "Third world" having 160M+ population in a tiny bit of area and then getting 1.8M foreign people as refugees who cannot contribute anything to the economy and is rather degrading security is just not sustainable. But we have still held on for some people find religious reasons to protect them, some find humanitarian reasons. Whatever the case the Junta in Myanmar doesn't wish them back and we don't see even a regine change solving this issue. Because of Corona and the war following after it the Economy has gone down hill as well. To put into perspective during our liberation war of 1971 one of the biggest reasons India considered joining and Joined our war against Pakistan was because of the 10M refugees that went from here to their land and it was a strain for them in the long term. Our current government is way too passive and fails to show proper force in Diplomacy. What I would say to this situation is that Myanmar take your people and take care of them or if your still adamant in refusing to recognize an entire Ethnicity then f**k off from the land they historically inhabited so we will integret it into our territory to return the Rohinga people to their homes and ACTUALLY give them a life to live with security and prosperity. Our government failes to do anything diplomatically and Myanmar is either too religiously blind, thic in the head with racial superiority or perhaps constantly on fire themselves to do anything about anything.
If I remember I hear you that a lot of Bangladeshi youth more anti india and pro pakistani
tell your people to stop or control the breeding number also treat women with more respect
I like to sh*t on UA-cam, but I will give them credit for not removing this controversial topic from my feed.
What about the Karen? Also are being "ethnically cleansed" in Myanmar
Make a video on Bangladesh hindu genocide in 1971 by Pakistani muslim army 😢
it is cruel that those so called islamic Malaysia and Indonesia, are chasing them out and returning their boats back .
i watched a video recently about indonesians calling to kick the Rohyinga out
there is one reason tht happens, Malaysia did receive thousands of Rohingyan years ago, the next thing that happens are illegal activities commited by them, robbery, rapes and even protest to claim a piece of city as their's. Thats why they kick them out . Now the Rohingyan are being smuggled into Indonesia and the things that happened in Malaysia is already a good reason why the Indonesian kicked them out as soon as they landed
@@Margulis1129Ngl, exactly what happens in Germany and Germany regrets about it. You could let them in however tf you want based on humanitarianism, but you wouldn't want criminals in and harm the locals ffs.
I'm not trying to be racist here, but it's surely foolish enough to do so that ppl are either too naive or hypocritical to ignore the fact you have to use TAXPAYERS' MONEY to take care of the refugees
Tbh if made Aceh says no, you 100% are dick in that situation.
the Rohingya is causing trouble in Indonesia or Malaysia. Both country despite not signing the UNHCR resolution used to accept refugee from Afghanistan, Africa, Vietnam during Vietnam civil war, and the middle east but only the Rohingya dare to start a sexual harasment, stealing, escaping refugee camp, start a gang, start a human traficking bussines, and destroying public facility. Per capita they have a high crime rate than other refugee so it is normal that Indonesian and Malaysian doesn't like them.
Rambo 4 comes to mind when one brings up Myanmar
I was scrolling through the comments looking for someone who also thought of Rambo 4 when hearing about what goes on in Burma
This is such a rarely talked about issue. Thank you, Whistler for doing this.
It would have been nice to mention the part Facebook and Mark Zuckerberg had played to make things categorically worse with relation to this genocide.
Theres a lovely Johnny Harris video about Facebook and Myanmar, anyone who wishes to learn more should definitely head over and watch that.
Long story short, in many places across the developing world, internet access is mostly coming in for the first time in people's hands via cellphone devices. Once online, due to language barriers, people tend to stick to their own language, and this is dominated by Facebook.
Facebook likes engagement, higher engagement means higher ad revenue.
People generally stay engaged with stuff that angers them over stuff that doesnt. This made hateful content being shown with greater priority over normal stuff.
Users werent just posting random bits of hate speech but were putting down live locations of Rohingya people, telling them where to attack and whom to expect in opposition.
Facebook made a genocide more efficient and made tons of money from it.
They were asked to stop promoting hate speech by the rohingya diaspora but Facebook didn't care.
For anyone who thinks Zuckerberg is some genius billionaire, a left wing hero that just hates Trump supporters and the USA, no, he doesnt. He cares more about money. Until the US senate stepped in with regulations, he made money supporting a genocide.
I remember as many flyers went around about this Genocide at my University. When talking about it I quickly find out that nearly no one knew where this is happening.
Most people would send UN troops to Africa.
Just an exempel to show that even the people who were interested in stopping the genocide...were not really interested. One could say the press did just their job...reporting about things that creates interest.
On the other side...even the Rohingya are pro Jewish genocide when it comes to the Israel-Palestine conflict.
No West countries can't touch neighbouring countries to China. They can only use proxy. And here Rohingyas are proxy. An artificial ethnicity created by Anglos.
The hatred was traced back 1970
But since there is zero evidence i have no clue it was true or not
Only hearsay on the forum
They said, small group of rohingya assault a person and Buddhists far right saw the opportunity to frame the whole ethnic for their hatred and u can guess whats happening
But i respect the local community that refused the refugees like thailand,Malaysia or Indonesia
They may call themselves Buddhist, but nowhere do the teachings of Buddha condone behavior like this, shame on them 😢
Like any fundamentalists.
Well, Christians are supposed to stand by and let you punch their other cheek if you attack them. They’re also supposed to give you more stuff if you try to rob them. In how many Christian countries can you walk down the street punching people and expect them to say, “Oh ok, you can punch me on this side now?”
@@Bubbaistwe only have 4 cheeks though..
Maybe you Muslims shouldn't have destroyed their holy statues. Maybe people are reacting to Muslims worldwide who do nothing but spread death and repression. If you do not discuss that part of the story..the story will never end.
@@eastsideeric2231 look at the Japanese Buddhists authorities in WWII who assured the military that soldiers who participated in atrocities weren't jeopardizing their reincarnations. Any religion can be used as an excuse for atrocity, as can the organized rejection of religion. It is humans who are the common element in all such matters, not any particular creed or ideology.
I have heard of this and I donated to a fund to help and I shared posts. It's all I can do from here. I had a friend who escaped Burma and came to America. He couldn't go home. His mother was still there. 😢
