It's nice to see and hear the other two for a change, aldo it would've been great if Johnny and Jerry where there since there's not too much interview material from them. And yes, I agree with Waldo being underrated, I love his music and bands (hope they come to NL soon..) By the way, lots of great bands are underrated in my book. Sometimes unbelievably so.. There's so many great bands from the past who remained cult/underground, (and I love them for it too..) I rather see a favourite band in a club environment then in a big stadium. More intimacy. But I think if Thunders would've got a lot of fame and fortune, he probably wouldn't/couldn't handle that, (like a lot of heavy drug users) There's lots of bands who crashed and burned in the end because of all that crap. I think I would. *Waldo will manage though...* PS: RIP Billy :(
Every video I've seen of the Heartbreakers I can't take my eyes off of Walter. He's got great stage presence. When I had a second hand tape with Lamf I thought it was just Johnny singing & playing guitar. I didn't know about Walter until UA-cam. Very underrated
@@sandrabranlund4251 hey Sandra. Jac here. Just saw this. I have a copy but its not edited. Never saw a finished one if there is. I would approve a release if done properly. Ill get in touch privately. Would be nice to see the original Pirates represented. Say hi to Graham for me
Heroin chic, these guys are rockers!! And also if you can't see how worn to the bone these two are and how out of bed and into the interview these two went 🤣
I wish I could tell Walter how much he meant to the band. Honestly how memorable would The Heartbreakers be without Johnny being able to bounce off of him? Hell, the whole band….
@@nathanpenick959 It is but you have to remember these guys mixed a lot of shit together so he was probably on a cocktail of different things. In this video he looks(to me) like hes mainly on dope(heroin). If it was mainly meth his eyes and mannerisms specifically would be different.
Seriously.......a Heartbreakers without Thunders ????? Lure was far from a confident frontman... It's ofcourse cool to see an interview with him for a change.....thankfully without that friggin bowler hat ......
Paul. There actually is a Heartbreakers gig up on here without Johnny. It sounds ok actually but as you say Thunders was the focal point with the cool name who made two great albums with the Dolls and So Alone too. Ps When the Heartbreakers made a comeback in 1984 and they released the Dead our Alive VHS. I thought Waldo was wearing that hat because he'd gone bold. The fool. He should have left it off cos he still had his hair. It made them look older than they actually were.
@@baronsaturday2103 In Busted he talks about cotton being down, so I figured he was a commodities broker. I seen the Heartbreakers a bunch of times in the early '80's and really it was Lure and the Heartbreakers cause JT was totally out of it when I seen them.
Part two of the interview, with Billy Rath: ua-cam.com/video/W9tkd2xOJlQ/v-deo.html
It's hard to get more underrated than Lure....that guy is great.
that is true
Yup

+matthew birch Totally agree, the Heartbreakers are my favorite rn'r band
I always loved Johnny but I always saw Walter as a superior musician
The interviewer is awesome too. You can see Billy light up when he’s asked about his producing.
*R.I.P.* *WALDO* (22.04.1949 - 22.08.2020)

The host could eat an apple through a letterbox with those chompers 😂😂😂
Waldo and Sylvain Sylvain never get the credit deserved...they are the wind beneath Johnny's Thunderwings!
Walter Lure is the truth

@@VideowaveMusic was he in a band before the Heartbreakers? I heard he was from Boston
Walter was working on Wall Street at this time too

More like heroin...
Walter was just as important as Johnny when it came to the sound of the band, and his vocals were better.
'Johnny Thunders & The Assholes' LMAO. Get it Walter!
Walter Lure l'immortale
Weird.
He just died
La puissance de Walter Lure !
i love walter
I don't know if they had a stylist but damn no punk band could beat the Heartbreakers in the looks department
I agree, may they all
Rest in Powder

And music
@@bilbobolsonaro1316 I liked the music before I even knew what most of them looked like but them plus Richard Hell wow!!
Walter played lead on a couple Ramone LPs
tom slick He played on Subterranean Jungle, Too Tough to Die, and Animal Boy. You can tell it’s him; he has a very distinct style of guitar playing.
Too tough to die right
the first answer is so hilarious
Billy Rath tiene los ojos tan verdes que parece un demonio xddd
The keith richards faraway eyes look!! 🚬💉💊☠️
Lure has all the best hooks
I shouldn't have been so tight in pre ordering it. Now you can't get it anywhere in the UK. They should now re release his autobiography. Now!
Did you film this at ETC/METRO ACCESS STUDIOUS on 23rd street?
Close. It was at Young Filmmakers Studio downtown on Rivington Street.

Johnny Thunders and the Frenemies 🤣

How can you tell? To me seems pretty normal

Both of them are higher than punkins!!!
PUNK GODS....
If Bugs Bunny had a Sister.
Who is this redhead?
A yenta from Yonkers?
Lure looks like a young duff mckeegan and the interviewer looks like a girl version of robin gibb like seriously
She looks more like Suzanne Vega.😀❤️
Walter lure and Richard Hell are like 7 feet tall lol
What the hell.. she just cut them off
The interviewers weren't paid....
She seemed nervous but cool like she wanted to know them better
I am not sure but if johnny would have broke my les paul, he might have died alot younger...
