Hypochloris Acid is used is ER hospitals here for wound healing. I'm so happy someone realized how to formulate it for skincare use. It definitely helps my rosacea, but I use the Skinsmart brand. I use it on my piercings and they've healed nicely with no infection 😌. Hope this info helps.
I for one still love these types of reviews. I don't have the clock app and have no intention of getting it, plus UA-cam shorts just don't give the context and details I need to part with my hard earned money. Big thanks
Especially Asian beauty products! I can’t return w Stylevana..and even if I could ship things back for free lord knows it would take 2 months to process 🥴
Just an FYI on hypochlorous acid, it is an oxidizing ingredient so it will cancel out any antioxidant ingredients (vit C, A, etc). I love it for controlling acne and rosecea but have to use it separately from my skin care routine.
I've been using a hypochlorous acid spray for the last month, and it's amazing! My aesthetician recommended it to me, and it really helps with little breakouts/bacteria and soothing on face. Love using it.
that naturium cleansing gelee is my holy grail!!! i use it twice a day and it’s cleared up my hyperpigmentation, brightened & evened out my skin tone, and helps with oil control. OBSESSED !!
If I pop a pimple and apply hypochlorous acid spray with a qtip after, it does wonders. If I have a cut or a scratch, it definitely helps heal them faster. But it doesn't do anything for my face, which does have eczema in certain spots.
My best friend swears by the Belif Aqua Bomb - she won’t use anything else (literally, she doesn’t do anything else), but I got her the body version to try because the inci list was the exact same and exact same order, just to see, and it is also a little cheaper while also having 8x more product. She is positive it is the same - and this is someone who I have tried every possible dupe of the Aqua Bomb face cream on. Weirdly though I’ve never noticed a real scent and she won’t use anything scented, so you have a better nose than we do!
those hypochlorous acid sprays are essentially diluted bleach sprays. It's really good for inflammatory skin conditions like eczema. That's why people with eczema also take bleach baths from time to time
I love the Prequel Universal Solution skin spray too! It works so well for my sensitive rosacea skin as well as random weather related rashes and minor scrapes. My daughter has acne prone skin and mild eczema and she loves the spray as well. We have several items from the Prequel brand now and we’ve been really impressed overall.
An influencer stated that the gleanser was on the fence for her a facial cleanser because of simple Ingredients and price point(she thought may be better options)…. Until, she started using it for face and body!! Now, I’m interested
@@mistyisha We love the Gleanser too! I underestimated it in the beginning too but it’s been amazing for my skin ( face and body) and it is a staple for me now. I was pleasantly surprised to say the least!
Thank you for another great review, James. (1) Belif is an Avon product, and Avon has adopted a more MLM model over recent years. (2) If you can't get more of the Prequel in UK, look for these brands: Tower 28; E11ement (that's a #11, rather than a double letter "L") from a Canadian company that makes an affordable hypochlorous acid spray; or Briotech (I know there's a Brio Global arm of the company). I use the E11ement spray, and I love it. It manages to soothe my mild (undiagnosed) rosacea and address my other skin problems. In the summer, I keep a bottle of the spray in the refrigerator.
8:35 Im so happy you highlighted the lack of HA here. I've been on such a hunt on how to reset my routine without all the HA, because the pustules & driness I get from it are genuinely unbearable side effects. Thank you so much, Jace 🥰💁♀️💅
I’ve gone through I think 5 bottles of the Giving Essence and I can honestly say it’s likely my favorite product ever. So glad to hear others talking about it!
I pretty much love everything from Jordan Samuel Skin and the eye gel is no exception! Feels so cooling around my eyes and also works under any concealer I use.
I can’t get into TikTok. I’m 35 and I’ve been around before UA-cam and I love watching reviews on UA-cam compared to something like reelz or TikTok. I need more longer content.
I love the Prequel spray, their "gleanser", and lotion. My rosacea has been helped so much (along with all the other things I do) and the cleanser makes my face feel so soft.
6:37 Oh my god so glad you recommended this! few weeks ago I was looking for ANY skincare for my flare ups, and I swear the internet only recommends steroids and cerave 😫 I found some us product which basically had diluted chlorine in it, I was looking for research papers and there really isn't much on it. I'm so glad you tested that and told us it's actually working! Never stop doing reviews pls and thank you 😭
Fun fact u dont have to buy prequel or tower 28. They dont own the HOCL patent and its available for skin everywhere including amazon. I use the e11ement brand in a giant Litre bottle bc i spray my face frequently bc gym outdoors ect. Run dont walk.
I love your channel. It’s the ultimate form of self-care for me to watch or put your content on while I do my skincare at night. I wish I could double subscribe. 😂❤
You are so very sweet, helping your fellow skincare influencer out. Absolutely love this ❤❤❤❤❤ and thanks for the inspo for new products will definitely be taking a look 😊
Absolutely still interested in reviews! If it's not too much to ask, I would LOVE to see a video along the lines of "I've run out of all my skincare and I need a new routine ASAP so can't wait on delivery - what to get in boots for: dry/combination/oily skin", if you please could?
This validates my anecdotal experience that my skin is better when I swim on the regular. (Hypochlorite is what's in most chlorinated pools. Not all, there are some other chlorine compounds that can be used, but most. Of course, that water's not as purified and the concentration varies more, but my skin doesn't seem to mind)
I believe Susan Yara once mentioned that getting the niacin flush is more common with lower quality niacinamide. That might be why the When I Met You essence doesn't bother your skin. Their products do seem really well-made.
I literally just got a bottle of hypochlorus acid last week and it has calmed down the eczema flare up on my hands tremendously! I was a little suspicious about it but decided to order it from Amazon & am very glad I did 😁
I have the natrium cleanser 😊 i like it a lot! Being an otr truck driver, i dont get to wash my face thoroughly every day, so i need a cleanser that isn't going to dry out my face, but adds to the hydration of my skin. I never rubbed it to make it foamy, i'll try that.
💦 The Belief Aqua Bomb products have been holy grail status for me for the last five years or so. The SPF formulation is my go-to for day! The one I always come back for!!
I am still Loving the Beekman Milkshake product that you recommended a couple of months ago it has been so so nice. I have red skin too and your recommendations are wonderful
I learned about Prequel from your content, and I am LOVING the Universal Skin Solution and the Gleanser. More Prequel products are wending their way to me right now!
First heard about Prequel & how great their products are from this channel. Sadly, they still seem just to ship in the US only, so I am out of luck here in the UK ☹️
An influencer stated that she wasn’t extremely impressed with the gleanser(as she thought better options for the price point).. until, she used it for the body as well. Game changer.. now, I’m interested.. I’ve found her to be reputable for years
I LOVEEEEE the hypochlorous acid spray!! I have psoriasis and (like you, this is all anecdotal and just in my experience) but the spots I had on my face have been a lot less aggravated since I started using this!! As well as the periodic flushing I experience from time to time! It's so incredibly soothing. I wish they had a mini that I could carry everywhere with me 💜
@@Figgatella Well, it's a chlorine anion, and it's the one that forms when you dissolve chlorine straight into water, so it really depends on what we mean when we say 'a form of chlorine'.
Boots sells 50ml spray bottles of hypochlorous acid in the baby section for £2.49, it's called Aquaint Hygiene Sanitising Water by Vital Baby. No idea if it's as good as Prequel, but it's pure hypochlorous acid in a dinky size so thought I'd spread the word!
I haven’t tried a Naturium face product yet, but the glycolic acid body wash is wonderful. No heavy scent, doesn’t strip moisture, and my skin texture is so much better.
Your videos are always so jam packed with well researched information, it definitely points me to the right places for my own research into what my skin will love. I'm an Emergency Department nurse and my skin always distracts my patients who say my skin looks "so beautiful" (in our language, they're just saying my skin looks great). Thank you James! 🩷😊
the pump packaging in the shower thing is so real, i literally will save my empty pump bottles to put squeeze tube bottled cleansers. Actually ironically enough, i had to buy the travel size naturium the last time i reupped bc my target was out of stock of the full size. You already know i squeezed that lil guy into my empty full size bottle the second i got home. So little really does go so freaking far, i literally use this cleanser daily and am still on the travel size that i bought LITERALLY two months
Just saw that Tati did an "AI chooses dupes" video for makeup and I thought it would be so fun to see you do one with skincare :) Hope you are having a great day!!
Hi James 😊 For any of your budget-conscious subscribers, there’s a CDN brand of the hypochlorous acid spray that I have been loving for over 6 months. 2 litres costs CA$60. I’m not promoting any one brand, just letting people know that the product does exist outside of the ‘Beauty Industry’ bougie-ness
Absolutely LOVE Susan's niacinamude cleansing gelee! Started using skin care during covid at 38...yikes! but you, sussan and Hyrum have made it so easy to understand that now at 42 I am a pro!! Love your skin care reviews in UA-cam!
Could you review your favorite products from less expensive brands like Cosrx?? I love their snail and their Propolis products. But I always get confused on their cleansers and other products. I can not afford high end or even medium cost products and I feel Cosrx is mostly affordable. Thank you! Many blessings!!💖💖💖
I would also totally love to see a hair care video from you.! Like what you're interested in right now? Like hair masks, scalp serum, leave in products?
Omg so glad i’m not the only one convinced hyaluronic acid is my main irritant! Have you done a video dedicated to all of your favorite products without HA or with low levels?
there are lots of hypochlorous acid products available in the UK, no need to import from the US. that cucumber stick makes me think it may be great after shaving. Do you have any shaving routine tips? thanks :)
I got the Peach Slices snail rescue toner and i love it. I did use the Fenty skin milky toner but it wasnt working as well as it used to, so i tried the Peach Slices toner and ive loved it. My skin looks so healthy and plump, i love it. I have dry skin and i was waking up with tight skin, and since i started using it that hasnt been happening🙌
I bought the Jordan Samuel eye gel based on your recommendation from a different video and I love it! Well worth the money and will last a really long time as it’s a big bottle and you don’t need a lot
James, I rarely see you review Naturium products and always found it strange because their products are amazing! I'm glad you love the cleanser as much as I do. The multi peptide serum is my new favorite
You should try the Sephora Collection Super Glow Cleansing Powder. I got it in the beginning of January, and i love it! I use my Selfless by Hyram cleanser as a first cleanse, then ill use the Sephora powder cleanser either as a 2nd step, or as my AM cleanser. My skin just feels so soft and clean, ive been loving it.
Personally, I would love to see hygiene tips that help the best with the health of your skin outside of just skincare products. I am talking like routines and techniques of things you do to keep up on your health. For me, I notice that when I shower at night every day, even if I put in a hair cap to keep my hair dry (which I haven’t tried yet), my skin loves it after I take a shower and apply my cleansers in the shower by the end of my time in there.
I broke out with the then I met you essence 😭 Tried it a few times even on different seasons but it just doesn't work on my skin, I was really excited when I got it because of the good reviews :(
The Cetaphil Gentle Clear Clarifying Cream Cleanser is salicylic acid based, but it is quite creamy considering. I like to use it as a mask twice a day (about 2-5 minutes). Also, a newer ingredient find has been Urea. Game changer for texture! Ishizawa Labs has a cream (interesting gel/ointment texture), an eye cream, and a toner. The toner has 100% changed my skin. Alot of the acne I had was due to congestion, the urea in the toner really helped with that. RECOMMEND
@JamesWelsh yeah ive loved it. I like the spray over the serum, The spray can last way longer, I feel like the serum definitely took more product. I did like the serum, but not anywhere near as much as the spray. I have Endometriosis and my hormonal acne was really bad for a while, and the SOS spray was the only thing that ever helped🙌
i've been disappointed to find that my favorite face cream (after trying several potential dupes with similar ingredients) is the then i met you one... mostly because it's $58 and i really don't want to keep paying that price but it's sooooooo good 😭and now i want that serum uuuggghhhh
On hold for 2 hours?! I would be throwing stuff. Top marks for patience. Does the cucumber stick smell like witch hazel? I love the idea of it, especially being cucumber, but I can't stand the smell of witch hazel, silly I know. Keep your eye on My Origines for Belif, I got 2 toners on BF for £11 each, the eye cream for £15 and they often have price drops. Totally agree they should lower the scent and price!
I've been using the Tower28 spray for the 5 months or so and it's helped with occasional ance. Also, SkinFix Barrier repair (got the kit at Sephora in late Nov) . The combination has been good, especially during cold/windy winter here in Northeast US.
London has hard water - full of calcium and other salts. Hated it so much when I was there, I purchased a water filter shower head 😂 Also hypochlorous acid has lots of evidence in eczema, published in scientific journals. Dermatologists recommend it for severely irritated and inflamed skin ❤
First heard about hypochlorous acid when Dr Eye Health recommended it as a gentle eye cleanser. Misremembered the word and asked the pharmacist for hydrochloric acid, which it turns out is one of the most popular acids to dissolve a dead body. It got me some looks.
It looks like Belif is now putting HA in the True Cream Aqua Bomb. So if anyone is going to buy it because of it not having Hylauronic Acid, triple check that your source has old stock and doesn't have the new version. Sephora only sells the new version online now, it looks like.
Where do you use the Prequel spray in your routine? My skin has been loving 4 Prequel products: barrier cream, barrier ointment, vit c and Gleanser. Glorious Gleanser - what a game changer. I love a spray, but have no idea where to incorporate Hypochlorus Acid.

Same as tower 28, same as dewy baby skin (uk), there are cheaper exactly the same ones
Thanks for that. Up rewatching stuff since I'm out of a few products & looking into trying new things.😊@@idkjustcallmeeriel.4149
Coming back to say thanks for finding us a budget option for that Prequel spray in the future with that spray for dogs.😂🎉😊
RECOMMEND
Love you 😘 happy Thursday!!!
Hello. Good Afternoon James 💜 Happy Thursday 💜
You should try the Tower 28 SOS spray! It smells like chlorene and it helped my hormonal acne SO much
Got it! It’s pretty much the same as the prequel one! I also have the serum version!
@@JamesWelshDo you have a preference?
@JamesWelsh yeah ive loved it. I like the spray over the serum, The spray can last way longer, I feel like the serum definitely took more product. I did like the serum, but not anywhere near as much as the spray. I have Endometriosis and my hormonal acne was really bad for a while, and the SOS spray was the only thing that ever helped🙌
I literally just bought the Naturium cleasner and by chance its in this video... WOW
James I have a drawer full of wonderful products you’ve recommended, I’m running out of space 😂 I appreciate you so much. 💜
i've been disappointed to find that my favorite face cream (after trying several potential dupes with similar ingredients) is the then i met you one... mostly because it's $58 and i really don't want to keep paying that price but it's sooooooo good 😭and now i want that serum uuuggghhhh
As a dutchie I bought Hyram s cleanser,, but i cant anymore. Cult beauty don’t have it. I miss it so much
Love hypochlorous acid and Belif aqua bomb used to be my jam! I saw they recently reformulated-is the one you’re using the new formula or the OG?
Acne (auto correct)
Can you do a polyglutamic acid vs beta glucan vs hylaronic acid please. Love your videos !!!!
Ohhh yeah good idea!!!
Humectant dance-off, with glycerin stepping up to show how the OGs do it
LOVE THE MULTITASKING 😂😂😂 AND in SKINCARE TOO ❤
London has hard water - full of calcium and other salts. Hated it so much when I was there, I purchased a water filter shower head 😂
Also hypochlorous acid has lots of evidence in eczema, published in scientific journals. Dermatologists recommend it for severely irritated and inflamed skin ❤
What are the chances that I *JUST* learned of Hypochlorous Acid before watching this video. I think it’s a sign to try it 👀
The Belif cream effed up my skin barrier; there is drying alcohol high up on the inci list 😮
Boots baby section has hypochlorous acid for £2.49, do you think there's much difference between that and the fancy skincare brands?
First heard about hypochlorous acid when Dr Eye Health recommended it as a gentle eye cleanser. Misremembered the word and asked the pharmacist for hydrochloric acid, which it turns out is one of the most popular acids to dissolve a dead body. It got me some looks.
Can we get your top recommended hydration sprays video? For us lazy skin care users who cba with serums ?!😊
I’ve heard it’s amazing as a body wash as well
