    I just used Redken pastel pink on dry white hair for 20 min. It looked rose gold on the warmer areas and pink on the pure white areas. My client was in her 60’s and loves to be adventurous with her colors.

    Redken rose gold formula is 09v 09rb and a generous amount of violet kicker. Also redken shades is always better and lasts longer on dry hair 20 mins. I think the color came out great though.

      Robina's tips so it’s 09v with 09rb? Violet all 3 of them?

    Hi Lexi, I leave shades on for 20min as per the manufacturer suggests unless I'm toning. Works great on dry hair and when I'm refreshing or darkening 20min is great. They actuslly say that it last better if u formulate it to what u want even for toning, with clear ect, instead of rinsing after 10min cuz u may have to much violet, blue, ect. It does last much longer and u get more shine. Love this color.

    Thank you for posting this video even when things didn't go according to plan! I've only been in the business on the floor for 1.5 years and it was comforting to know that regardless of experience, sometimes hair is just unpredictable!!!

    Adding direct dyes on top of a regular color that used developer, basically counteracts everything.
    I’ve learned from experience. I once applied SEQ on top of a direct dye, instead of it covering. It completely stripped out the direct dye color.

    It makes no since to use a purple shampoo to make it a cool shade when you're wanting the warm Rose Gold. Try the Guy Tang Mydentity 7rg/9rg and a few others in the Kenra line or his own new line. Also Shades Eq has a 9rb (blush) which is great to formulate a Rose Gold.

    my favorite rose gold formula on a blonde with warmth in it is redken shades cream one part 5rr seven parts clear

    Thanks for showing the process! I love the end result! I recently did some rose gold in my hair as well. I lifted it to a level 7-8 then toned it dry with guy tang’s 6MR and 7RG.

    I used to have the same issue! Always trying to get a rose gold color but could never get the rose. I found a really good formula of using shades eq 6rr or 8rr and diluting it 1:6 with clear and it makes a really nice color!

    It's colors like these where us as stylist end up doing what I call "jungle juice color" where we learn a lot. Just keep adding until we find what works best for the situation. And what doesn't work this time will still teach you something that will work for another client. Looks great!

  • @olivialesbian1578

    Looks a little darker than I would want, but I love the mix of blonde and rose, so it probably looked amazing after it faded a bit

  • @thehairalchemistnaomi1512
    @thehairalchemistnaomi1512 5 років тому

    Sometimes I like to tone with a darker to get the pigment, but you don’t get the depth because it’s on wet hair for a shorter time. Turns out good.

  • @thehairalchemistnaomi1512
    @thehairalchemistnaomi1512 5 років тому +2

    I haven’t watched the whole video yet. So I may back track. I feel like the 20 vol in the Kenra colour would eat the pigment in the pulp riot and Joico put on top of the toner.

  • @MikeBArtistry
    @MikeBArtistry 6 років тому

    I find the Shades EQ pastels are really best for adding to other colors or pre-toning alone. I also leave them on for the full 20 minutes since they can’t “overtone” because they don’t use an oxidative developer.

    OMG this color is gorgeous! My school does allow "crazy" hair colors like bright green or purple or pastels, but this is perfect without going to over the top! My only question is what kind of hair dyes did you use? I'm a bit confused.

    Mmm, Kenra came out fantasticfantastical so brilliant, do you think shades of q washed out or helped make a tone this color so irrisitable gotta do asap just went blonde for my fist time working on from brown to medium to lighter blonds,... eventually rosegold ok just looked back after skipping 2-5secs, and the lazra rose was what I skipped popal blush is xxx, I have joico rose, yummy tones play....love your walk through voice so chill for real rose golds.mmm.

  • @monshelly352
    @monshelly352 4 роки тому

    I'm sure you would have better control on the result if you rised the hair before Appling a totally different chemical process on the hair. Permanent, and demi permanent toner, and semi permanent direct deposit all works differently. So your permanent color is fighting the direct dyes. Just food for thought. I'm a total hair chemical nerd. Lol still turned out nice!

    And if you can, could you please tidy up the rest of the captions of this video and future ones? If nothing else, can you activate the ability for others to do it?
