    I just subscribed to this channel just because of this video...for some unknown reason ( at this present time) i was so relaxed just enjoying the trip,it's like i was there traveling along, enjoy it so much that i actually watch it twice.

    Enjoyed your presentation. New to LV. The bike paths look nice here. Just bought a Specialized Sirrus Pro Carbon Fibre bike. Using it to rehab after surgery strength training. Perhaps we'll meet riding. I enjoyed watching you ride for me new vistas. Very Cool 🚲👍

      Maybe so. I often ride with the Giant Summerlin store on Sunday mornings. The area in this video has been built up considerably since this the date of this ride but still more or less the same. Just a little more traffic and a few new traffic lights have been installed.

    That was good trip brother.

      Unfortunately, a few years later it's not quite as nice. They've built a whole bunch of homes over there in the first part of the video, so the traffic has increased and there are now several stupidly programmed traffic lights too.

      Vegas Cycling Freak You must be happy bro. There is no way to ride a bike in my city. That's why I always running. If I lived in las vegas I would make all my transportation by bike. That would be healhty, enjoy and cheap. Ride safe brother.

      @@fatihuysal3607 In theory you could do that here but reality is a little different. The weather is so extreme - way too hot, biting cold 25-30 MPH winds in the winter, drunk drivers all times of the day, lots of hills unless you're in the central part of the city where it's flat.

      Vegas Cycling Freak true. It is more accurate to look from this perspective but It is better 10 times a year ride than never ride.

      @@fatihuysal3607 Yes, some riding is better than no riding. But me for example, I work 13 miles from home and would have to do 1,500 feet of climbing just to get there. Also would have to carry change of clothes, and try to clean up best I can because there is no shower to use. No one would appreciate the sweaty guy in the death cubicle next to them. Just not realistic for me. If I worked 3 miles away and only had 50-100 feet of climbing, that would be a different story.

    Nice . where is this trail located exactly??

    • @VegasCyclingFreak
      @VegasCyclingFreak  4 роки тому +1

      It’s “the 215 trail”, runs parallel to the 215 from Centennial to Flamingo. In this video I’m going from Far Hills north to Lake Mead.

    Hey, VCF, whaddup...
    Going to LV next week, staying in town, considering bringing my bike. Want to pedal strip, maybe stop at a casino or two. Assuming casinos are NOT biker friendly, no racks, etc., but are there places in front where one can park/lock a bike, out of the people flow? Also, no bikes allowed on strip sidewalks, right? Thanks.

    • @VegasCyclingFreak
      @VegasCyclingFreak  7 років тому +2

      Hmm... good questions. In general, no, the casinos aren't what I'd call cycling friendly but that doesn't mean they don't have bike racks. I'm really not sure, I don't even go to The Strip anymore, just too many people and too much traffic. Pretty sure bikes on sidewalks are frowned on, too many people going every which way. You can rent e-bikes in certain places along The Strip. There's one not far from the Pawn Stars place. Generally speaking, I wouldn't ever ride my bike there (on The Strip) unless it is a special event like the Honor Ride I did last November (drunk drivers and that sort of thing, well and people that don't know how to drive). I hope that is of some help...

    You committed a penalty, there is one sign that said “bike lane ends”, followed by a “you must turn right”. So, you say that you do this every day! I gave you a like by the way.

    • @VegasCyclingFreak
      @VegasCyclingFreak  5 років тому

      Not sure where you're talking about but there are places where there is no bike lane and it's perfectly legal for me to be on the street. The part where I'm going down Lake Mead at 30+ MPH, I certainly don't that every day. I'll only go down this road really early in the summer time (like 6 AM), on the weekend when my ride starts at 4:45AM. It's always kinda nerve wracking because cars pull up to intersections and go without really stopping, and most of the time don't even see me even with my very bright flashing headlight. It's also annoying because the traffic lights change so fast and it's hard to stop at 30+ MPH. Anyway, thanks for watching.

      Vegas Cycling Freak Thanks man, I just came to the USA and I’m trying to figure out how can I move until I get a car, the traffic and the laws scare me because I don’t want to get a penalty.

      @@arielpuig7302 -- I see. Well it depends on where you live, but in general, cyclists have the same rights as a motorcyclist or an automobile. Problem is, at least here in Las Vegas, if you're anything but a car it's like you're invisible to drivers. Many cities are much more cycling friendly in terms of infrastructure than here. I'd say go to your local bike shop and ask some questions - they'll know all that stuff if they are any good. They might even have some info on the local laws, bike lanes, etc.

    • @VegasCyclingFreak

      1. Have mirror on helmet, so I know if someone is behind me. I'm not just jumping out in front of cars. I'm not an idiot.
      2. There is very little traffic on these streets at 6AM, so I will take a lane whenever I can especially if there are side streets where people stop for a microsecond and don't even see me.
      3. I stay out of bike lanes where I know there is always crap in them near new construction areas- rocks, glass, valve covers, manhole covers, branches, road work signs, garbage, etc.
      4. At the time of this video, the intersection which you must be referring to had a 3-way stop sign which I'm not going to stop at if it's obvious there are no cars anywhere. There is a light there now which pretty much guarantees that you will have to stop there, and wait for invisible cars. I don't even go down Far Hills anymore because of that stupid intersection.
