  • In this episode of Virtual Scenic Bike Rides - Best in Las Vegas series, we travel back to Boulder City Nevada (30 mins from the Las Vegas strip) where Melanie will rent a Specialized Turbo Levo electric mountain bike from and All Mountain Cyclery. We will then enter the River Mountains Bike loop trail at the Bootleg Canyon trail head and ride counter clockwise (northeast) to Lake Mead. This awesome bike ride is 8.5 miles in length and is almost completely downhill so very little pedaling is required. The River Mountains loop trail is completely paved and downhill speeds can comfortably reach between 20 and 30 mph. During this ride there are stunning views of the mountains, big horn sheep and Lake Mead. Cruise with us down through Bootleg Canyon, Boulder City, and the Lake Mead recreational area before finally ending at the Lake Mead marina on this beautiful spring day in the Nevada desert. This wonderful bike ride is truly on of the Best In Vegas experiences for tourists and locals alike.

THE BIKERIDEZ STORY & MISSION :
This is a channel about electric mountain bike riding for regular people. We are not hardcore mountain bike riders. If you are looking to see trail videos where the riders drop off 5,000 ft mountains at 45° angles you are in the wrong place (at least for now). We are full-time professionals who live in Henderson Nevada which is about 20 minutes from the Las Vegas Strip. Most of the videos you will see on this channel feature bike trails around the Las Vegas valley.
Although we thoroughly love riding our mountain bikes for exercise and adventure, bike riding is our primary form of meditation and stress relief. Our bike rides allow for a few hours without our laptops, and without our phones where we can stay focused on being in the moment. Just like meditation and yoga, when we bike ride, we focus on our breathing, we push our bodies to feel more, and, we get to see some of the most spectacular scenic landscapes, sunsets and wildlife that the Mojave dessert has to offer.
Whether you are a Las Vegas local or visiting from any where in the world, our hope is that with these videos we will encourage you to take advantage of the extensive Nevada bike trail system.
    Are you ready?

If you are on an ebike you should have no problem (as long as you are not out there in the hottest part of the day". We've ridden that trail many time before, on non-motorized bikes and the ride backup is hard but not that difficult if you are a conditioned rider. If you don't have an ebike. One recommendation would be to come with 2 vehicles. Park one at Bootleg canyon and the other at Lake Mead.

There is no need for an ebike on that ride because it's all downhill. We've done it many times on our Amish bikes too. The ebike comes in handy when you have to climb back up though!
