Thanks to Your so nice review I’ve decided to buy the KT1. It’s arrived from Germany to Italy Yesterday and I’ve installed it. Very nice device but I noticed suddenly that the page up and down push buttons of the remote didn’t operate…. But the worst situation occurred to the Tv tuner with big problems to the audio. In certain situations the audio disappears (no audio at all). Making a reboot of the system sometimes the audio come back and sometimes not…..surely a problem of my device….so I’ve contacted the after sales service to give it back…..very annoying situation…..
is there alternativ dvbt2 android box with google and netflix certified?
So which box does everything right money aside? Are we left with the shield really? And any word of a new shield pro coming maybe this year I've been holding off buying the previous one for a bit.

It is very difficult to operate with the remote.

Have you tried to plug and usb camera? It would be great to have apps, direct TV and videocalls in the same device!
Only 2gb ram... good to save on switching between remote-controls by setting the TV to HDMI, once and for all... maybe they can spoof a sony/philips/samsung/... remote-control receiver app/user-interface for universal remote-controls with better-layout to infrared-signal to work with...
These boxes are so so close. Ideal would be a double satellite tuner and the official apps netflix,Iplayer etc etc.
S2 tuner with android would be great

It's the same with this one, clearly it's capable but it's just not there for me.

I'm beginning to wonder if Netflix just have a policy of not green lighting 4K on boxes that have tuners. It seems to weird with me that they aren't even on the Humax Aura. Surely that box is legit enough and has enough of a user base to justify it?!
hi, I noticed that for some days the HD channels in Italy (network 4, channel 5, italy 1 20) in HD do not hear audio while other HD channels are heard how can it be solved?

I have this box, amazing this box doesn't give write permissions for attached ext hdd and pen drives but internal tv Tuner app has full write access to record pvr shows to attached ext hdd and pen drives,

One thing you said nothing about... heat, I guess you live in a cool place. I don't have KT1 but on all my Mecool devices I install and monitor the temp with an app, and they get pretty hot.
Maybe comparasion with CANAL+ BOX HY4001 (S905X2)? It can bought here in Poland for 45 Euro with 1 month Canal + Online access.

Like almost all android TV boxes reviewed that are not supplied by cable operators, none comes with HBBTV installed. Looks like if we want HBBTV, we actually have to get TV sets from the likes of Sony, TCL with built-in android TV.

Is it a way you know how to contact these people? I got a box from them in dec. Two months lata I start having problems. Box would get stuck on the startup screen. I have to unplug replug. Would go off and restart when trying to watch stuff. It factory reset on its own. Try to email never got an answer. So I try to just deal with it. Now its got worse. Restart 5 times in a rol back to backl. Gets stuck and starts making a loud noise. Have to unplug replug. Ethernet doesn't work anymore and wifi just disconnects ever 2 secs now. Can't even use the box. Sent atleast 12 emails and all I got was an auto reply saying they are on a national holiday and will answer emails after Oct 8th Which is passed that. Don't have money to waste or buy a new one. Just like to enjoy the box like I was able to before the problems

Since the main screen is a bit simple, we cannot specify the application we want at launch in the launcher installations. For example, we want the TV application to open automatically. But it does not work. There seems to be some restriction on play google. (Maybe because of the version of the device, etc.) and you assign the most important channel numbers yourself, you cannot change them. Even if you do the channel sorting, it is not useful to find the channel because it uses its own numbers in the channel table that appears on the main screen when you press the middle button. Also, the channel information stops on the screen. To turn it off, you must press the remote. The control is also very simple. It does not suit the brand. The market loses.

Did you find it struggled with just the 2G ram ?...would if been a lot better with 4G ram... Shame it didn't have a satellite receiver as well
Actually all you need is 2 g of ram unless you are planning on gaming . In most cases the best boxes are better not because of ram but the firmware used and licenses .

Just so all know, i have two of these bought from two different suppliers and i cant tune DVB chanels here in Australia.
The boxes are dvb no s2 and no matter what i try i cannot tune the cahnels, just says none found, i also have an older box m8s and it works fine with dvb chanels.
Ok i figured it out…you have to manualy enter the fequency for your area even though i am in Sydney i still had to enter manualy to get chanels. Runs well now

@@Joseph_Coutts Hey, i bought two, as i figured first one was faulty, now i use both of them, bluetooth remote too, so far so good, for Chanel’s i used the original Tv Chanels app (not sure why but i deleted the original google one i installed)(i think this one is modified less advertising)
I was considering maybe adding extra cooling or something but have not yet and not sure if i will as it works great.
Keep in mind for Australia i had to do a manual tune and enter the several frequencies for my region but once i did i found all the channels and works fine.
Also When you buy the box there are several remotes so i bought the one with Chanel numbers on the remote for ease of selecting a Chanel other wise you have to hit ok to bring the list up and scroll down/up to get your Chanel which is ok but can be faster to select a Chanel directly.

go to setting/device preferences/ sound /system sounds enable all. I had no sound in HDTV and that worked for me in Oz

Yes you can.
If you live in the US for example, this will not work. Since this receiver only takes DVB signals, and US uses ATSC standards.
Netflix not working
So basically the T2 tuner is useless in the UK, because there is no EPG on a T2 mux
yeah I love how he made no mention of half the EPG missing.

mecoll kt1 dvb s2 . It is a regret. The satellite section is not useful at all. The channels have fixed numbers. It does not change. The channel order cannot be made.
