Ya, these idiots think they can move to cheap(ish) property, the just oust any neighbors they don't like.
HOA's can't and should never be allowed to "annex", area and force people to join when they were never part of it to begin with, and were there before the HOA ever existed.
Sigh..absolutely no HOA has such powers, and this would be laughed off the docket long before ever being heard by a judge.

In the wealthiest part of my city, a major developer tried after offering 1 million for massive land a farmer had. They tried to get him even evicted, that's when the old farmer showed them his homestead deeds ,he upped the sale to over 5 million with all his livestock relocation to be paid by developer. You should have immediately filed for an injunction against the Homeowners Association for Harassment to keep them away from your property.
Stupid hoa has no grounds to claim your farm and a judge would laugh them out if court

The victory over the HOA in court wasn't enough. They don't learn unless it hits them in the wallet or they spend some time in jail. When you have an insufferable HOA (or crappy butt-hole neighbors) cameras are a requirement, not an option.

I love how these HOAs assume they are a legitimate government and can just annex neighboring land if they feel like it. Thats not how laws work

Sounds like a really strange love triangle in the first place…the girl who wanted to marry a man 13 years her senior and putting up with him refusing to meet her family or consider themselves in a relationship OR her sister that, knowing her sister had been strung along then ghosted by this guy then enters into a serious relationship with the same misogynistic dirtbag!
Apart from the comment about how these stories are just that - stories, I cannot believe how many people seem to actually believe this crap. And since they are are stories you could, at the least, have finished the final one.

I keep seeing these HOA "thinks they own my XXX, when I never was a part of the HOA." To my knowledge there is no legal basis for an HOA to annex parcels or any property, nor own any public roadway in any state in the U.S.. So, these "stories" are made up, or the HOA lawyer (you know the ones that file the proper HOA documents with the state/county) are incompetent.
Unfortunately, they aren't in a lot of situations.
Far to many people involved in HOA's tend to go on petty power trips, thinking that they are the law even outside the boarders of the HOA.
How dumb do you have to be to move into a house that is next to a cow farm and then complain about the sight and smell of cows???
I don't like the smell of cows, but that would mean it is on me to avoid moving to a place where Im going to be smelling cows on a regular basis.
