    Ferrari 812 Superfast review: aex.ae/2tlOGSz
    When tasked with replacing a car like the awesome Ferrari F12, it must be two things: very exciting and just a little bit scary. The F12 was such a huge leap forwards over its predecessor, the 599, that it was hard to believe an entire model evolution hadn’t gone missing somewhere.
    Yet five years later the new 211mph 812 Superfast is upon us, boasting an incredible 789bhp from its 6.5-litre V12 engine and enough new technical tricks to bamboozle every Magic Circle member.

    I remember Steve reviewing the F12 for Autocar 5 years ago and saying "where on earth do they go from here." Once again he's saying something very similar. Well done Ferrari!

    I remember Steve’s first review of the F12 a few years ago - he said (paraphrasing): I just don’t know where they go from here. How can they improve upon this?” - well, they just have! WOW!

    Everybody hated the f12s styling when it first came out, i remember seeing comments saying the lines on the rear looked like a thong. When the next ferrari v12 coupe comes out everybody is going to say the 812 was way sexier and so on and so forth. I think this thing is sexy af.

      It's very noticeable that Pininfarina are no longer involved though. Neither the 488 nor the 812 wow me like the 458 and F12 both did when they were released.

    Great review, as always. Just wondering, how would you rate the 812 next to an Aventador S?

    • @TICKETDROPPER1984
      @TICKETDROPPER1984 10 місяців тому

      Two completely different cars (driving experience).
      I have an 812 and I have driven the Aventador. 812 has a dual clutch, while the Aventador has a single clutch which feels more “punchy” on gear changes. There are some throttle technics (lifting on gear changes) to smooth out the transition, but NOTHING compares to the dual clutch of the Ferrari.

      @AB-80X 5 років тому

      No. It's a GT sport, not a track car. It's much louder than a Lusso, but not annoyingly so. If you want more, simply put on a different exhaust. It is in fact quite loud outside compared to the F12 and FF.

    I'm glad you said it looks fussy steve lol. I felt that the very first time I seen it. it has way too many lines that just do not work well with each other. the rear of the car looks great to me the front abit of a dodge Viper and the rest just oddly shaped and placed slashes and scoops. the guts and skeleton of a perfect car is there but the looks broke my heart abit. not as pretty as the F12 :(

    • @AB-80X
      @AB-80X 5 років тому

      It will go past 220. The 211 number is written as 211+ in the owners manual. This is because Ferrari has not tested it beyond that. Will it do more? Yes. I've seen 351 as a passenger and it had plenty left in it, we just ran out of road. This was on GPS @ 7900 rpm in 7th.

      When you see it in the flesh, you'll see it's not as angular as you might think. It's actually very fluent and well proportioned. In a time where a lot of cars are mimicking each other, NOBODY will confuse the 812 for anything but a Ferrari GT: Front-engined, RWD, V12, grand touring coupe that looks like it will bite whatever you're driving in half, WITH "black magic" performance and FOUR tail lights (i.e. the absence of MY personal "gripe" about recent Ferraris which only have 2; the F12 included).
    Now I just need to sell-off every-single-thing I have, and own (belongings, family, pets et al), to buy myself one! I'll worry about the insurance and the fuel bill after a year of saving up all my pennies!?

    I find it interesting that the design of Ferrari's has become a secondary talking point. What happened to Ferrari's being the most beautiful cars on the planet? They haven't made a really beautiful car since the 355 in my opinion. Though I really loved the 360 when it was introduced I just don't think it's really stood the test of time.
