I have an update video I need to put out on a new way to secure these to the tree. If you are on Instagram, send me a message and I will show you. It is by far the best.
I made some of these a few weeks ago. try setting the prusik knot where you can use it as a truckers hitch to pull the rope tight. run the rope around the versa button, back through the prusik knot loop, pull tight, then back to the stick and tie off how you normally do.
@@MichiganAmBushOutdoors I'll try and get video. I can at least take a photo. From what testing I've done with the method, it works great for when you need to get the stick extra tight in some situations.
@@MichiganAmBushOutdoors I didn't see a way to order longer length. I did email him as well asked for a longer length. It's seems easier than carrying the straps.
Nice video, there is another option for it however. You could use the Persak knot as an attachment point for a truckers hitch. That would be more secure yet. This method will produce almost no sag at all.
For nesting the sticks could you just wrap the rope around the sticks, will the sticks still nest tightly together? I have the same sticks as you and I wrap the straps and it works fine. Thanks.
Do you think the USA or the XL would be solid enough for a Mission platform with just the prusik and not doubling it up? Right now I'm running daisy chains on my sticks but I didn't like the daisy chain on my platform.
Get the USA XL. That’s was designed for platforms and stands. It has a working load of 500lbs and if you use the second attachment method I showed, it would be rock solid.
They are very durable. I ran the same set for two seasons, and they are still in good shape. I recently picked up some beast sticks this year, so I purchased a fresh set, but if it weren't for the new sticks, I would rerun them with no problem.
Yes. 1/8 main line and a 7/64 prusik knot. Make sure to check out the other videos showing the various tie-off methods and the Amsteel safety video I did. I'll never run cam buckles again.
You can get them pretty tight with the first method, but I did another video addressing the length issue on the second method. In the new video, I show how I ran my sticks all year, and that method is what I would recommend. For my stand, I still use cam buckles so i can’t say for sure.
Less weight, less bulk, less noise. Seems great!
Also how secure the stick locks to the tree. I was very impressed
Got my Ultimate Stick Attachment today and played around with it. Great tip on the double over around tree. Gonna give it shot.

@@MichiganAmBushOutdoors Great. Doing it now. Would love to add more tricks up the sleeve.
Nice video! Ordering a set now.
You won't be disappointed. Let him know you saw the video! We appreciate it.
Great video. Seems like a no brainer vs a cam buckle!
Thank you! Definitely worth trying. There is a platform version that I would like to try as well.

Dude share
Nice video. I may pick up some.
Make sure to order a longer length if you hunt bigger diameter trees. Minimum 12 feet.

I like these.
Very nice and easy to use. Sticks were rock solid!

Yeah. I wrap the ropes around the stick and attach them to the stand with J-hooks.
Lotta rope for one strick😵💫
The 8ft works out perfectly depending on how you tie it off.
Are you sure you're not using 1/4-inch main and 1/8-inch Prussic?
Yep. 7/64 Prusik and 1/8” main rope.
Great video man. I like how you anchor your sticks.
Thanks, man! Make sure to watch the update video I just posted on these. It addresses the rope length issue.

Will that prusik knot unravel on you at in inopportune time, like when you’re pulling it out of your pack in the dark?
I guess it's possible but I roll the rope up and slide the prusik knot over it to keep it neat and together.
@@MichiganAmBushOutdoors I’m guessing you could also wrap it around each stick and use the prusik knot as a tag end that you hook onto a step.
Absolutely. They only reason I don't is because the LWGC minis lay flush to the stand so it would prevent me from attaching the sticks
These are a great attachment. I made some last year and love them! Any deer yet or are you waiting for your birthday to put one down?
Hey Greg, I ended up getting a nice buck on Saturday. Unfortunately, I didn't film any of it, but I will be doing an updated video next week.
@@MichiganAmBushOutdoors sweet, congratulations!! I got a 3 yr old 7 point a couple weeks ago.
I think I remember you saying you got a birthday buck! Congrats again!
What about the usa "pro" for platforms? Could that work?
I did an update video talking about my concerns in this video
I've been getting a lot of questions on Amsteel for platforms, so I'm dropping a video today covering some information.
How durable is this vs a standard strap lwcg sends with the sticks and stand? How long will it last?
They are very durable. I ran the same set for two seasons, and they are still in good shape.
I recently picked up some beast sticks this year, so I purchased a fresh set, but if it weren't for the new sticks, I would rerun them with no problem.
@@MichiganAmBushOutdoors do you run one for your stand as well? I’m running the .75 thinking on trying it out for that as well.
I know a lot of people do, but I do not. I feel safer with the cam buckle. The sticks don't see the same load as the stand because you don't cam them.
Thinking of making my own, what size is that continuous loop for the prusick knot? I know it's 7/64 amsteal.
To be honest, I'm not 100% sure. I believe Sam has this listed on his site.
Is that 1/8 main line full bury?
Yes. 1/8 main line and a 7/64 prusik knot.
Make sure to check out the other videos showing the various tie-off methods and the Amsteel safety video I did.

I bought 6 of these. They look great. Do you feel safe using the first method? My thinking was using these on all my sticks and my seeker platform.
You can get them pretty tight with the first method, but I did another video addressing the length issue on the second method. In the new video, I show how I ran my sticks all year, and that method is what I would recommend.
