the vita version looks really good for it's time
The Vita game is very impressive for its time, the Vita itself was a nice piece of kit too. The Switch version does look better and has a clearer picture, but the fact that the Vita game holds up as well as it does tells me that graphically the series hasn't evolved a ton.
The ps5 version of mlb the show 21 looked incredible tho

If you do a lot of traveling or it’s your only system, this game is way better than ok. Also keep in mind that this is San Diego studio’s first time touching Switch hardware and the game plays very well. It has all the features except create-a-stadium, which unfortunately, this also applies to Xbox one and PS4 owners - meaning that the only advantage those consoles have over the switch version is graphics, which doesn’t mean much compared to playing MLB 22 anywhere you want.
Summary: Want 4K @ 60fps graphics? Get the Xbox Series X|S or the PS5 version. Travel a lot or don’t have access to a TV? Get the Switch version. Have quite a bit of money? Get all 3 versions.
Why would you compare it to 14 when 15 is the newest one on Vita?
Unfortunately 15's physical release is super expensive, and if you buy a boxed copy on North America you are taking a chance on the code inside the box since it expired a while ago
Shadows are better on Switch, but not by a lot. In fact, good as the Vita game looks for a game from nearly a decade ago, it's the fact that the Switch version looks so poor that really surprises me. I think the Switch has the horsepower to do at least as well as a PS4, so the fact that the graphics on this title are barely on par with a PS3 (while being in direct competition with the PS5) is not a compliment to its developers.

@@RE4-City well a couple.. 1. That the psp game from 8 years ago is up to par with the newest one on switch. And 2. That mlb is still using same animations from 8 years ago.
It's actually a vita game, but it's amazing how well the vita version holds up to the switch version to be honest.
Also I'm not sure about the switch version but I'm pretty sure the PS4 versions of MLB in recent years are using improved animations than the ones since were using in MLB 16 or before I think!
