The art of the cover is a very interesting topic. When I was a kid… in the 70’s, I would causally collect horror magazines like Creepy and Eerie because of the cover! I even still have a few very worn loved issues of them. Even then, I picked out a favorite Asian artist that was part of a wave of Filipino artists that did draw for the American markets. I had no idea as a kid, I just liked them. My favorite is Alex Nino. It’s somewhat stylized and I gravitated to it instantly as a kid. I try to collect his stuff when I can. He needs more recognition.
Well, you better keep practicing that German. When I was 14 years old, a publisher started the magazin called Banzai!, which was basically the German version of Monthly Jump. They even took over the cover artworks. Sandland by Akira Toriyama is actually a fun one barely talked about. It's a 12 chapter one shot.
The Mangazin Cover can also be a tool for example Weekly Shonen Jump is known that they give the Magazine Cover to an IP they want to push, as in they believe in the work but it doesn't have the popularity at the moment. The 80s and 90s Covers of WeeklyShonen Jump hit different especially the ones where the Mangaka themselves are on the Cover next to their main character.

I had a Shonen Jump subscription from 2001 to 2011. Those were some good times. Wish I still had them but sold them all at a yard sale in 2013
