That was the the Northern Pride car wash. I grew up and still live nearby with my wife and our oldest son and his family. In fact we probably set the nearby cache. At one time there was a spring across the road and I carried water from there to our house for my grandma. That was in the 50s. Enjoy watching you and Kayla with your videos. You go to many of the places I have been to including the Outer Banks. Thanks!
Oh man I gotta get caught up on so many videos! Sorry I haven't been watching/commenting much lately.Work has been chaos and since January I've been working 6 days a week! You always do a great job though Wallie! Much love to you and Kayla! We hope to see you guys soon when this Corona crisis calms down!
Sodium lights. That's what they're called. I use to work at a full service car wash that also owned a couple coin operated car washes that I helped maintain when I was employed there. I could go into an entire spiel about how those places worked and how they're maintained, but this post would be way too long. If you have any questions about how they work, I can answer them for you. I can't answer about this particular wash, but based on my own experience, I'm sure this one is pretty similar.
I'll take one car wash please. Wait not again. The place looks like it is on its last legs. Thanks for the tour. Since you didn't get the Z washed did you at least find some food that day? Lol
High Intensity Discharge HID lighting could be mercury vapor, high pressure sodium (yellow streetlights) or metal halide. That lamp (bulb) was a coated metal halide.
Hey Wallie, just wanted to let you know, Shaler Kmart might be getting torn down, if you didn't hear about that already? It's either that or being repurposed currently.
Has that street for some reason decreased the volume of traffic driving by? I wonder if anyone recalls what the name of the place was. Interesting find. Thanks for sharing.
There's two I've seen that look roughly equally as torn up myself. Too bad some of these go down hill. I prefer these over those conveyor belt ones- They tug only on side of the car tearing up suspension!
Can you visit Abandoned sack n save grocecy store in fort worth Location altermesa it been abandoned for 10 year and no did not Bought that building it still abandoned.
It is a shame to see these kind of car washes closing. Just recently, one shut down up in Greenport (Hudson) in Columbia County, NY. Though...it was one of two Hoffman Car Wash locations within a mile or so of each other, and the other one is bigger, with the automatic options, a Jiffy Lube, and they just added these big, blue outdoor setups...not sure what to call them... So, it kinda makes sense that the smaller one closed, just surprised it stayed open as long as it had. Might have been kept in business because of the handful of used car dealers right nearby, one literally being next door.
I have seen this one guy on youtube and he likes to show off lot of car wash's and he would go through them and I don't remember what his channel name was anyways one of videos on this guy youtube it was car wash it lot of like that car wash that he had gone through and it was automatically I don't it was that same car wash as that one but it look lot of like as that one he had gone through I believe name of it was "call Out West Car wash" but I could be wrong tho it might not be that one that guy has gone through

That's the Northern Pride Car Wash. Right near my high school. I used to wash my car there every month on a day after school. Memories.....
Fantastic video! This old car wash is not too far from Bishop Canevin High School.
You're going to be seeing a lot more abandoned stuff in the coming months...
Good job
Keep these videos coming wallie. We need them more than ever now. Thanks for all the interesting content
Awesome video
There is a nearly identical one that is still open on Route 48 in McKeesport, PA near Olympia Shopping Center.
Very vintage, I love it.

You should consider buying this place and fixing it up. Car washes make thousands of dollars per week for about 2 hours work a day.
You should contact public works for the area and let them know of a suspected broken pipe leaking water.
My father was the assistant general manager there from 2005 until it closed in 2018. UPDATE: I confused it with a different carwash.
Obviously, this ones way to rough to be closed any later than 2010
Awesome video bro
Very correct Wally Mercury halide bulb
Wallie do the Texaco on Old clairton rd in jefferson hills

Kind of looks like the old Dixie Square Mall which was long abandoned and left to decay and fall down although that was much older.
Wallieb26 I also did geocaching my self at one time too and there is not very many people do it now days

Be careful going out with the corona virus but I love your videos
I wonder if the garage door was a automatic system
was there an automatic bay?
Cool
That carwash looks really old with weeds and the concrete is crumbling
Has that street for some reason decreased the volume of traffic driving by? I wonder if anyone recalls what the name of the place was. Interesting find. Thanks for sharing.

I never thought of that. I use those all the time
@@billl1127 I can't help but wonder if it's a cheap out tbh as most if not all auto-carwashes I've seen use that.
Sad when a place closes it goes to hell
Nice video wallster you need to stop being so paranoid buddy and just do your thing.
I think i saw yinz aht taping yesterday!
Wonder if those car washes will die out because of these automatics
My nearest car wash is $2. 75 minimum to get it going.
I think business is going to be picking up for you drastically after this virus.
7:30 well that's weird haha
Wonder if geocache was still there ?
Le Sueur Minnesota's theater is being gutted. By the owners. they want to reopen it.

That car wash looks run down a lot
♥WallieB26
That has a lot of bags for a con wash
Yeah that is good idea because if anyone buys that car wash they would have to do something about that water
Your 32nd birthday is now 4 days to go get ready!
I bet this place has been closed for well over a decade
Mercury Vapor bulb

Probably mercury vapour. Possibly sodium vapour with a phosphor envelope, they do exist!
I think the sodium one is called high pressure sodium just saying
@@RedneckLn yep you are correct! :)
Some body lost their $ ass....probably was a good return on investment initially but changing times will kill any business...unless it's grass or ass.
You think they have "Spot Free Rinse?"
