Thanks Craig, great to have you follow the journey whilst I am here. Enjoying it but I miss home and the Wildlife so it won't be forever, when I do get back I'll come up for some New Forest Red Deer Rut:-) Not yet for bears, our move North East will bring these to the channel, so hopefully soon. Cheers Rich

Thanks Jon, such amazing birds and a total bonus at the end of the day. R👍
Fantastic. Thank you. All the best. 👍📷😎
Thanks, you too Rob👍
Loved the Merlin ,brilliant stuff
Thanks Gary, a bit easier to get a Merlin here than on Exmoor, lol... Still what an environment Exmoor is to capture one in. Cheers Rich 👍
Cool park! I often pull into an area that looks lifeless, with my wife wondering what I'm doing, to find animals that I had never seen before. It's so much fun! Thanks for bringing me along, Rich!
Cheers Jon,
I think that’s half the fun if it, exploring a new area or one which is familiar to you can always reveal something new! My pleasure, cheers R👍
Awesome footage Rich. Loved the Merlin. The variety of Woodpeckers incredible! Atb👍
Thanks Trev, such great little birds👍
Beautiful viewing. Thank you.
Thanks very much indeed Anna, really glad you enjoyed it. Cheers Rich 👍
Wow Richard that was a fantastic video,Red tail Hawk, Woodpeckers, Merlin and many others truly an incredible video you made, footage was amazing so much wildlife in one video, Merlin was my favourite incredible birds just watching it in the tree that park is an amazing place, shame about your camera hopefully they can bring out an update to put it right 🤞well done Richard putting together a fantastic video and thank you so much for sharing it with us. Martyn
Glad you enjoyed it Martyn,
It's amazing how one day it's quiet then the next it's mammals, birds and raptors rish! Just goes to show spending time on your local patch it well worth it. We all strive to head all over the place but secretly the local spots have a wealth of wildlife.
Yeah, a bit strange on the heating issue, maybe the easycover used to protect my camera body, still waiting to hear from Canon Canada on that one.
My pleasure as always my friend, thanks for stopping by again. Rich 😀
Lovely variety of wildlife you had there. Totally worth watching till the end for that fantastic merlin footage.
Thanks very much, such a spectacular bird, especially doing a bit of a flight dance😀👍. Cheers R
Nice one Rich, youre certainly getting spoiled out there with all the species. Great to see the Merlin. Keep up the good work!!👍🏼🎥📷
Thanks mate, yeah it's amazing to get to see so much Wildlife so close to home. You too Si, best of luck with all your projects, I'll be watching with much interest. Cheers Rich 👍
Lovely footage Richard! The Merlin was fantastic. Keep up the great work!
Glad you enjoyed it Mike, can't beat a Merlin to brighten your day! Cheers Rich
That sure is one great parkland you've got over there Richard, love the Merlin, as always another great first-class video by you that is always put together so well with excellent info and tips, thanks so much. 👍
Thanks Raymond, it's such a great spot but doesn't always reveal the birds but when you get it right it's a top spot. Really pleased you like the way I do it, all the best. Rich
Blue skies with nature's soft box ⛅️ what more could you want ? Great day for the outdoors Richard , best regards from Stu 🇦🇺
You got that right Stu, can't beat being out in Nature on a fine day and getting a few surprise species at the end. R👍
Brilliant as always mate. Love the Merlin.
Many thanks Craig, never get bored of those beautiful Falcons! And nice to have one sit still long enough. Cheers Rich 👍
Love seeing the ‘local’ wildlife-so much to see! ❤ xx
Thanks so much Sarah 👍
Lovely footage!
Thanks very much really glad you enjoyed it! Cheers Richard 👍
Hey I’m also a wildlife photographer in Toronto… great video!!!!! looking forward to following your work
Hey Paul, Welcome to the channel. Shame I missed you in Toronto as I've just moved to Ottawa for 3 years, still plenty of Canadian wildlife to come. Thanks again for following my journey. Cheers Rich 👍
Great video again Richard, here in the South West UK just seems to be raining for ever.😀
Thanks Mark, I've heard it's been really bad! I am home on holiday next week so I will try and bring this sunny dry weather with me. Cheers Rich 👍
Wonderful stuff - great to see the furry critters as well as all the lovely birds. Merlin was superb!
Thanks very much, nice to see some Red Squirrel activity amongst the bird life. All the best and have a great week. Rich 👍
Such beautiful hawks! Amazing piece of video there at the end! Cheers, Phil
Glad you enjoyed it Phil and nice to see you agree about the beautiful birds. Cheers Rich 👍
Nice Richard - thanks for posting. It seems you have brought a little bit of England winter over here (which is a good thing in our case).
Thanks Chris, it's my pleasure and I can't believe how mild its been here. Do you think we will see a white easter?? The UK has been very WET! Cheers Rich
Keep up your amazing photography experience in Canada 🇨🇦. Just spectacular merlin
Thanks very much John, looking forward to the move North-East in the Summer! Lots of different species to see, especially Owls... Great birds aren't they, never tire of seeing them. Cheers R👍
As always, really enjoyed your video :)
Thanks very much John, top man👍
Had a lot of rain here Richard, but lm seeing Magpies flying around with sticks and twigs, sure sign of Spring!! Hooray!!
Lovely Neil, I miss the Spring at home but I am visiting soon so I'll get to see some spring magical moments in our woodland! R👍
Great vlog son enjoyed it so much👍👍🦅🦅
Glad you enjoyed it dad, a few more to come soon👍
@@RichardBirchett looking forward to it son 👍👍
Nice footage. You've inspired me to get out and try so video as well as stills.
Hi Jonathan, that’s great to hear, wishing you some great footage and stills. Got a video out soon on some tips on video. All the best Rich 👍
I hope you get to see and hear a Pileated Woodpecker! They are loud, huge but very skiddish. I had to be perfectly still to get pictures, if they see you move a muscle, they fly off. Maybe you'll get to experience the Cat Bird- sounds a bit like a baby cry...if you put seed in your hand and hold your out from your body, they might land on finger. Very sweet birds!
Thanks again for watching, I really hope
I do get to see them, heard they are massive in size! I bet they are quite noisy drilling away on a tree? Not heard a catbird yet but I’ll keep my ears and eyes open for them when they arrive. Thanks for the tips, R👍
Love it! Love your work! Those relaxing cinematic stretches are beautiful! That's my non religious Sunday church for the day ha!
Interesting that you'd have overheating issues when pushing high frame rates because that's a super pro level camera! I know nothing about how to use the whole video side of my Sony a7r5. I haven't even flicked over into that mode yet out of fear😂
Maybe when you move to Ottawa, I could just watch you one day and learn through osmosis, ha
You're a few weeks ahead of me with spring here near Ottawa. It's floating right around +6c, but our chipmunks are still hibernating for now
I'll jump over to Twitter and retweet your vid if you've shared it there
Cheers
Thanks very much my friend, its a pleasure to have you follow the channel. My wife watched it and nearly fell asleep, maybe it's my voice, lol..
Yeah it's not a great thing to keep happening on my R3, I'm speaking with Canon Canada today to discuss why this is happening, could be the easycover as pointed out to me by a fellow youtuber!
Give the video mode a go, good camera for video I've heard. Lol, no probs it would be good to meet up if you are around when we move. Much appreciated for the retweet thats very kind of you. Spring is on it's way soon. Cheers Rich 👍
Hi Richard. Great video as always. Loved that last bit of bonus footage of the merlin. It looked amazing to watch. Does your camera system have pre-capture in video mode. I had a camcorder when conducting surveillance in the UK that when pressing the record button on observing any movement it would also record 2-4 seconds prior to me pressing the record button. This was way back in the mid 2000's. I'm really surprised for us wildlife photographers they haven't had this in most camera systems. I'll be visiting The Photography show in Birmingham in a couple of weeks with a list of must haves. Again fab video.
Hi Simon, I was so pleased to see the Merlin again, probably one of my favourite birds of prey, so fast and so deadly! You can use HEIC files which can do video, I think you need a HEVC to convert it but I am not totally sure. I know OM systems use it and I think Nikon do to, It's a handy function for sure. I hope you have a great time at the Photography show, it's a place to burn a hole in ones wallet, lol... Thanks as always. Rich 👍
Great video Richard so lucky to have all that wildlife on your doorstep, quick question are you editing all the people out of your videos or are the parks generally that empty 🤣🤣 by the way I got my RF 200-800 not given it a proper try out, I know it won't replace my 600mm F4 but it's a lot easier to walk round with.
Thanks very much Tony, it's very lucky for such a busy place! There are always lots of people but I try and record when they have gone, not always easy I can tell you! Nice one with the RF 200-800, I've had a go and it's a great lens, bit heavier than I expected but what a reach to have! Yeah, doesn't replace the Prime easily! Cheers Rich
Fantastic footage, Richard! 👍 I'm aware of the overheat issues on Canon cameras but my R6 and R7 have so far never had problems. Is it possible that easycover is restricting heat escape by any chance? I see its a cold day given you're wearing a beanie! It can't be right that the R3 is overheating, surely.
Thanks mate, much appreciated and that's a massively good shout on the EasyCover, just awaiting a response from Canon Canada! Don't know hoe I missed it, you are right though, it really shouldn't happen! Cheers Rich 👍
Top .. Drawer
No idea how this and the other never appeared on my feed ..
Went out to get some snow covered hills by the time i got there the snow had virtually all but melted .. standard central scotland weather lol
Thanks Colin, sadly my vlogs have massively suffered in views since I change from weekly to twice monthly videos!! UA-cam punishing me for changing the stupid algorithm 😂👍.
Nightmare, doesn’t hang around for long does it! Cheers for catching up
Mate 👍
