  • This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. Jon Brilliant connects the dots on how nurturing sustainable innovation can develop in the nonprofit sector.
Yes, his last name really is Brilliant. A cross to bear, perhaps. It’s also likely the reason why Mr. Brilliant sees the world a little differently-make that a lot differently. He connects seemingly disparate dots and sees the big picture.
From saving Bolivia from bankruptcy, to running business development as a director at Harrods of London, to being CFO of mHealth pioneer WellDoc,
to taking The Sports Authority public, to backing the producers of films such as Thank You For Smoking and The Cooler (starring William H. Macy and Alec Baldwin), Mr. Brilliant has demonstrated the gift to identify, match and nurture people, companies and ideas that show real promise for sustainable success. His current passion is sharing with others how to find and connect their own dots.
About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
