Seems some hell weeks are "just" about maximum physical endurance and lack of sleep. Here memory, leadership, trust, creativity towards the group and task are a key part, while also being physically trained and sleep deprived. I guess that those we see the faces off are those that did not make it to the end.

I seem to recall one of them do. But yes. And yes; you can endure almost anything physically, with enough willpower. It is always the mind that gives out.

Reg. the pool test, the trick is not to exhale all the way and only breathing at the top edge capacity of your lungs, so that you keep your positive buoyancy and that way use your strength on forward motion and not on preventing going under (same method applies when dragging a casualty in water), but this is probably unknown for most of these guys and a major stress factor. Once you know how to float with ease, the rest is easy sailing. That's my thoughts, being an old comp. swimmer and diver.

I use the tie up and swim training often as a swim coach. Best practice for me is turning around, looking at the ceiling and bend and extend your legs. Even did it in uniform and with webbing. It’s quite doable if you know how to move in and with the water.

One thing you don’t get from the subtitles: the instructors are using the formal You with the pupils (you can’t really translate it) but it’s the version of you that you would use with an elder or superior. Kind of like they are saying sir to the pupils “what the fuck don’t you understand here, sir”? It makes it kind of funny and respectful and disrespectful at the same time :)

close enough it is an old "you" we barely use anymore and it is as you say a formal way of speaking to someone but it was used to differ between someone you know well and consider your friend and someone that you don't but still to show courtesy and respect. its not used anymore only when our queen spoke to be very formal and such

@@KeiwaM that will count you amongst the < 0.1% it is basically a dead pronoun. I guarantee you can ask 1000+ people randomly and you will most deffinetly not encounter a single person using it.
