  • I spotted my first bull shark!
This is a top down drone capture of a bull shark with a small remora fish making it's was through Lake Worth Lagoon in Palm Beach County, Florida. Taken 2/3/24 during midday while the sun was bright and the waters were crystal clear.
Bull sharks are able to survive in freshwater rivers and in brackish waters, which is a mix of saltwater and freshwater. These sharks are known to be unpredictable and can be very aggressive as solitary hunters.
Remoras are fish that use a strong suction disc on their head and back to latch onto sharks, whales and other large sea animals. In this way, they get a ride over longer distances than they can swim themselves, saving energy as they go.
