    while your flushing out the containers, do you have a hose flushing
    out the top to help give it a good flushing it would probably work
    longer if there was some filter matts to capture for other plants
    or for another project for more ponds, I love the setup you done.

    Your set up is over the top, but I want to know how is your health? It seems like the bacteria from the Koi fish isn't being filtered enough before reaching your herb garden. I'm just concerned that the focus on water filtration going in to the pond has more emphasis than the water going to your edible garden. I hope your doing fine health wise but I just wanted to be sure. A Bio-engineer to the core you are. Great processes you have in place.

    Lovely pond. Well use waste for plants. Do u use bottom drain? As i see, you using 2 submersible pump for filter and 1 for skimmer. What is the pump spec your using?

    • @chu0435
      @chu0435  4 роки тому +1

      I don't use a bottom drain because when I build this pond I was not experienced enough to do a bottom drain. My 2 submersible pump at the deepest end in the pond act as my bottom drain. The three pumps I am using are energy efficient (4,500 gal per hour and consume 140 watt each)

    Looks like a full time job. How do you prevent predators from getting the fish? I get hawks Eagles and raccoons. Also in winter how do you provide enough oxygen? Its your pond but looking way over crowded. One imbalance with that many fish would be a disaster.

    • @chu0435
      @chu0435  4 роки тому

      Is really not a full time job because of the aquaponics system do all the work, I do have to clean the gravel bed once a year. I am thinking of using the RING doorbell and scream at my phone whenever I get a notification of an intruder hahaha. In the winter you don't really have to worry about oxygen because the water is already really cold
