I like your sistem filter. I take your idea and the result is awsome ! Make a video to see your pond this Year! Really ...you have a nice pond and less maintenence! Regards from Romania, Europe!
@@chu0435 Well tell her your UA-cam family is so happy to see the work you've done and you all have a beautiful home 🏡! Keep up the good work. Amazing 👏🏾
I love how you have the pond setup feeding your produce. Great idea. I love what you did. Very inspiring 👏🏾 👍🏾👍🏾❤️ love the pond. What are the dimensions?
Thats a really cool build you did. Hope to see you post more videos. Maybe details on how you build or the planning behind it. You know some thing more then the casual 'This is what it looks like' video we all seen 100's of times.
while your flushing out the containers, do you have a hose flushing out the top to help give it a good flushing it would probably work longer if there was some filter matts to capture for other plants or for another project for more ponds, I love the setup you done.
Lovely pond mate 👍 think you've got too many fish though its a ticking time bomb. They will all continue to grow so the kindest thing to do will be to rehome at least half of them
I really appreciated the concern, I will cull them once they get bigger and showing their pattern but I believe my filtration system can handle the high fish load due to the aquaponics system
In the winter it can get really cold so I shut off my sump pump and only run the skimmer, I will make a video with more detail how I winterized the pond
Your set up is over the top, but I want to know how is your health? It seems like the bacteria from the Koi fish isn't being filtered enough before reaching your herb garden. I'm just concerned that the focus on water filtration going in to the pond has more emphasis than the water going to your edible garden. I hope your doing fine health wise but I just wanted to be sure. A Bio-engineer to the core you are. Great processes you have in place.
Lovely pond. Well use waste for plants. Do u use bottom drain? As i see, you using 2 submersible pump for filter and 1 for skimmer. What is the pump spec your using?
I don't use a bottom drain because when I build this pond I was not experienced enough to do a bottom drain. My 2 submersible pump at the deepest end in the pond act as my bottom drain. The three pumps I am using are energy efficient (4,500 gal per hour and consume 140 watt each)
Looks like a full time job. How do you prevent predators from getting the fish? I get hawks Eagles and raccoons. Also in winter how do you provide enough oxygen? Its your pond but looking way over crowded. One imbalance with that many fish would be a disaster.
Is really not a full time job because of the aquaponics system do all the work, I do have to clean the gravel bed once a year. I am thinking of using the RING doorbell and scream at my phone whenever I get a notification of an intruder hahaha. In the winter you don't really have to worry about oxygen because the water is already really cold
I lost track of how many big koi I have. I do have lots of goldfish I need to give away because when I first build the pond I use goldfish to test the water before I start putting in the koi, I also just add 150 baby koi too
I kept it really simple, just 2 levels. I have a video on my friend koi pond where his waterfall is really simple at just 1 level, definitely check it out
need help have pond one air pump fitting 18mm I need to adapt to 8mm air pipe any ideas? The pump came with a rubber tube that is about 18mm but can not seem to find a fitting for my large air stone that has a 8mm pipe.2

Thank you I really appreciate it! I will post a video soon after I complete my diy Drum Filter that is really easy to build.
Fantastic really good video well explained very clever set up thanks for sharing👌👍
Thanks
Nice diy filtration set up. Nice grow beds. Nice yard. Nice Koi.

Great job. Looks like you need all the water filtering you have. With the amount of fish you have.
Thank you
I'll bet that was a fun project. I can't wait to buy another house. I've always wanted to build a koi pond.
It was really fun to build, remember to keep it simple
This is what I have in mind, I just started a 2100 GL pond in my front yard. Your system is absolutely amazing and is so perfectly done. Great video!
Thank you 😀
Awesome use of your koi pond. Feeding family and friends

Thank you Christopher! I will try to post more often, let me know what topic you want to cover that will give me ideas
Great system you have there, i have a similar kind of pond with a large window but you have a fantastic aquaponics system
I really want to build a pond with a large window but I was not skillful enough to do it
The beautiful pond. I love your set up
Thank you

hi, what are the two large plants in your pond, thanks. amazing looking pond btw
I don't know the name but I have to remove it because roots tend to clog my pump
Genius
Thank you much appreciated
Hi,
Your koi pond and setup is amazing. I was wondering if you ever have to clean your aquaponic system at all, such as the gravel? Thank you.
Thank you, once a year in the winter before I shut down the aquaponics system I clean out all the gravel and turn it back on in the spring
Nice set up. Are those birds of paradise plants you have in your pond? Are they good for ponds? Thinking of putting some in my pond.
I don't know what plant that is friend gave it to me, but I did end up removing them because the root tend to clog my filter pump
Awesome!! I had a similar design in mind.
I just added an diy sieve filter too
May good yes beutiful
Really beautiful 😍
Thank you
very nice sir
incredible system!
Thank you so much
Very nice new subscriber Barry Manchester England 👍
Thank you Barry
Very beautiful set up bro. Just wondering whats temp. During winter time? Does it affect ur filtration system on cold days? Thanks
In the winter it can get really cold so I shut off my sump pump and only run the skimmer, I will make a video with more detail how I winterized the pond
Thanks! We get to about -40 on the cold days up here. Im hoping this set up will work for me as well.
Do an update please awesome setup
I will soon once I get the pond ready for spring

Thank you, I am just using the aquaponics system to filter my pond, the fish are health and thriving
Check out olomana gardens air lift pump system. Using air lift not impeller pump, minimizing impeller clogs

Thanks! Is 16 x 14 ft and 4 feet deep in the middle
very cool setup!

Fine
you setip is insane, you should add wood to cover all the blue parts ;)
Hahaha I should

looks so nice. awesome pond build how many koi do you have in there?

@@chu0435 rehome all of them brother start collecting some authentic japanese koi
I want to but I don't have the funds for authentic Japanese koi yet but I will in the future
Nice to do if you have the money to do it all
Cost around $1000 when I built it but definitely not that price this day
How are you designing your waterfalls? I'm thinking of adding one to my pond.
I kept it really simple, just 2 levels. I have a video on my friend koi pond where his waterfall is really simple at just 1 level, definitely check it out
Are caps more of mechanical or biological filter?
They are actually both
The sieve filter is mechanical
what is hardiness zone ?
need help have pond one air pump fitting 18mm I need to adapt to 8mm air pipe any ideas? The pump came with a rubber tube that is about 18mm but can not seem to find a fitting for my large air stone that has a 8mm pipe.2
I can't help you in that department cause I don't use any air pumps what is use is the venturi oxygenation
Hi when you add iron to the aquaponic does it affect the fishes?
The chelated iron will not affect the fish
Do you have trouble with Cranes or Herons having a meal on your fish ?
Yup I have lots of trouble with them, all I can do is chase them away when I see them
I’m able to use one air pump to run my entire system about the size of your.
What are the plants in the pond by the water fall
I don't really know my friend gave it to me but I removed them cause they grow so fast that they tend to clog up the pump
DiY complex garden pond
what kind of plants are in the pond?
I forgot what kind of plants it is, my friend gave it to me when I first build the pond if anybody know what plant it is in the pond let us know
What is the size of your pond?
About 14"x16" and 4 feet deep
Nice pond but way too many fish!
seen how much filtration he has?
how deep this pond?
Is about 5 feet deep
That’s a lot of fish per gallon
Yup all thanks to the aquaponics system
Your tomato plant is getting eatin by a snail mate !
Is all good I am willing to share
Or would be nice if I could hear you over the waterfall
it is not simple
Hahaha
