LOL ... I always find Steve Simmons hilarious every spring when he says the Leafs are close to the Stanley Cup !

Lol I still can’t believe the Leafs gave this clown the largest coaching contract in nhl history - 8 years $50M. And made him the highest paid coach in the league in terms of annual salary ($6.25m) even in each of the four seasons after he was fired by the Leafs.😂

Fired because of his own insecurities and controlling behaviors.

@Unsanctioned_Buffoonery Babcock was sticking his nose where it didn't belong.

Babcock was handed a 2nd chance and he soiled it. The fault falls directly on his shoulders.

Bro it was his fourth chance. He left Anaheim and Detroit because they wouldn’t pay him what he thought he was worth each time. He got paid with the Leafs but the players started tuning him out halfway through his 8 year contract and he got fired. And now he tops himself getting fired by Columbus before even coaching an actual game with them. 😂

No way he’s getting in the hof. By the time he’s eligible do you know how many people will chime in to keep him out.

He only had success with Detroit and (moderate) regular season success with Toronto because of the player rosters those years. Any average coach could've achieved what he did, shouldn't be in any conversation for hall of fame.

@@michaelcopper613 agree. But he also has success with Team Canada as well. “Stacked roster of course”. He also had success in Anaheim. His overall coaching record isn’t bad and is worthy of the hof. But there’s too many factors in play here. It’s not just one wrong doing it’s multiple with multiple teams throughout his career. With all of that said it would be interesting to see what kinds of stories the old school coaches have out there. I personally think a lot of this particular story is overblown but just the fact that he benched Modano, Spezza in meaningless games and just to be a dickhead, gave Franzen a mental breakdown is enough to keep him out imo

"Did they suspect...." is the kill quote. THEY HAD TO and ignired his past. Yes he has coached SCC teams.... but monkeys could have. All excuses

Geez Babs, schedule a family dinner/meet and greet. What an invasive putz. And John Davidson is definitely behind the Babcock hire. Jarmo seems more logical than the dinosaur of a president.
