Poonam Gupta hails from Shivpuri, Madhya Pradesh, and has an impressive academic background with degrees in Mathematics, English Literature, and a Bachelor of Education from Jiwaji University, Gwalior. She secured the 81st rank in the 2018 UPSC CAPF exam, leading to her role as Assistant Commandant in the CRPF. Throughout her service, she has demonstrated exceptional dedication, including leading an all-women contingent during the 74th Republic Day Parade.
Her fiancé, Avnash Kumar, is also a CRPF Assistant Commandant currently stationed in Jammu and Kashmir. The couple's wedding at the Mother Teresa Crown Complex within Rashtrapati Bhavan marks a significant and historic event, blending personal celebration with national pride.
