Growing up in Philly….I can still hear Harry’s voice and remember watching this man complete amazing feats on both sides of the plate. Maybe brooks Robinson was a better 3b defense, maybe George Brett hit for better average….but all around Mike Schmidt is simply the greatest 3rd Baseman ever to lace em up.
You hit it right out of the park. Mike Schmidt is the greatest third baseman to ever ever play the game. I watched his whole career. I was born and raised in north Philly 1959 I was born so I was a teenager. In the 70s when Mike was really at his best. Damn he was great.

I was born and raised in north Philly. Am a 64 year old man and I watched Mike Schmidt whole career with the Phillies. He is without a doubt the greatest third baseman to ever play the game. THANK YOU Mike Schmidt. Shit I got to watch two of the greatest players of their sport play their whole career in Philadelphia pa. Mike Schmidt and Bobby Clarke.

Is funny to hear the announcer at 2:35 say "Smith is gonna score", only to then add that "Smith stumbled" on the way.
Any Phillies fan knows they're talking about Lonnie "Skates" Smith. He was famous for running real fast, then tripping over himself. It happened all the time. 😅😅😅

Probably the best power hitter I ever saw at going with the pitch. He would just take the outside half of the plate and hammer them to right. Stupid power
He stood so far off the plate. :55 he has a foot outside the batter's box. First time I saw him play. Balls explodes off his bat
Mike Schmidt didn't swing at the ball like they do now days. He would let the power of the ball off the pitchers hand. He talks about it when he does Phillies games on Sunday. Hit a ball going 90+ miles an hour. Hit it with the sweet part of the bat and that ball is going to go a long way.
