I love lamb shanks, I used to get a bag of them from a butcher at a local market, there must have been 10 in the bag for £5 until they became fashionable and the price went through the roof
Love the expiry date there GregO and I'm sure this vid was shot well before late June with this being a staple winter offering uh. Looks like you had that squeeze trick down pat after plenty o' practice I'm sure... Pity that juice wasn't up to par as the shins looked good. I'll keep an eye out for some in the throwaway bin... Cheers Gibbo
@Michael Spencer true Grego fans know he has a backlog of videos and releases them when he feels like it. This would have been in date at time of filming
I buy the Aldi frozen version of these. They're are frozen but are individually wrapped, so you can cook just one if you want. Just boil them in the bag for 45 minutes (throw a couple of taters and carrots in the boiling water) and a great mid week tea can be easily served. The 2 sauce choices are both tasty.
Not bad but i like the ALDI frozen shanks boil in bag from frozen 45 minutes open bags then pour gravy into jug take off floating oils add mint sauce serve fantastic also 2 varieties
I was sitting here looking at the yummy looking lamb shanks and thinking that mashed potato is what is required here and next thing I know you had them all served up and ready to go! YUMM-O!
Apparently the Aldi lamb shanks are awesome. No need for all of those dirty pans and dishes- just put a few holes in their plastic bag and microwave them. They are so good that a certain large restaurant in my area does just that! They charge a premium for lamb shanks and a chef I know says all he does is stabs the bag with a fork and outs them in the microwave- and the customers love them! What a way to make $20 profit on a microwave meal 😂
I was gonna order the Coles lamb shanks but theyre "Temporarily Unavailable", i blame Greggo for this. it sucks cos theyre $14 on special. so i had to get Woolworths $22 ones
For all the comments saying this is out of date true Grego fans know he has a backlog of videos and releases them when he feels like it. This product would have been in date at time of filming guaranteed.
wtf i just cooked lamb shanks in my oven.. i added oyster sauce and gourmet salt and dried sage seasoning, a little cracked pepper, it's out of the oven now and resting... wow the coincidence i am gonna watch this before trying my own in maybe 30 mins...
How crazy is this , we just came home from Coles with the slow cooked pork ribs in char siu sauce for dinner . Checked on the used by like one of the other comments 11/11/22 . 🤣 Take it easy mate . Cheers 🤣 The man has cast out that hook line and sinker . Cheers

never really been a fan of lamb, but when my sister made some slow-cooked shanks they were really good, meat just melted off the bone
Shit, why dont you try it for your self???? 4 quarter chops are the best, there cheap and tender, because of the amount of fat, there also juiceee
How old is this video? Why the best before date of 27/06/2022?
Straight to the loo after eating that so far out of date

Thanks for the tip. I'll get some tomorrow
What was the aftermath after eating these 4 months out of date.
Yep also noticed the expiry date
Drain the sauce into a pot and bring it to a simmer until its reduced by 25%.
This will increase the flavour and the thickness of the sauce.
Now why... wasn't that included in the instructions 🤔
can also just leave the foil off. As long as the lamb isn't burning on top it will help reduce the sauce.
Lovely video Greg! Big fan of you champ! Keep at it! You are a Top Bloke!
0:15, i think its a few months after its best before date
Yep I also noticed that
Needs more cooking GregO! I've had these, but they need more cooking time.
The use by date though ☠️
Nothing beats a handy Lamb Shank every now and then 👍🤤
Not as many lamb lovers here in NY. Frozen dinners featuring lamb is interesting stuff.
Lots of those things need a little jazzing up. Makes them that much better.
Thanks for the video Mate 👍

Please tell me this wasnt another item you got on special recently... The best before is in bloody June 🤢😅
I have not tried the coles one's but the ALDI one's are pretty decent flavor wise and size wise, cannot remember the gm of them though.
try the ALDI one and compare it
Have you done a review of lamb shanks frozen or the fresh ones from aldi?
Looks good.If you can find lamb over here at all it costs a king's ransom and is just the raw meat.I'd buy this and spice it up if needed.
Thanks Gold Coaster always wondered what those Shanks were like. You're reviews are the BEST.

Apparently Woolies has this Louisiana fried chicken that’s meant to take just like kfc when you chuck it in the air fryer
Yep had some last night, pretty good stuff!!
The best lamb I ever had was BBQ'd lamb on the set of Hot Tub Time Machine...I got paid, I ate and they didn't even use me in the movie.
Get the woolies version, don’t have to take out of packet, just cardboard box
Yum nice with a big dollop of mash potato and a heap of veggies of choice .👍
Woolworths Lamb shoulder in garlic and rosemary sauce is the best, the Coles tandoori lamb one is not bad either.
