My great-grandmother came from this town in 1880 from Germany to America on the boat, her last name was Maria Kemmerick...she married Adolf Pfeifer in Wipperfierth Germany Church not far away and they came to America...I'd have to go look at the photo album again to verify all this...It's been 40 years since I looked at it all...I have a photo of the church...I wonder if it's still there...? Probably not...I don't recall were Adolf was from....but, did know in the past lifetime...
@@YashNico Sorry about some of my spelling, it's been 40 years...I think it would be interesting to show up in that Church one Sunday morning in sit in on a mass and just look around at the people and the church, it it's still there...it's crazy, but I have thought about doing it...why do I think like that? I have no idea myself...maybe just curisity or something...it was there in the late 40's because my great aunt were their in 1948...I'll try to look that up on the internet...she still spoke the German language...and I have her photo album...from that time.
I think it’s a great idea to walk down the path of your family history a bit and visit those places if you can 😊 And maybe that old church in Wipperfürth is still there after all…
@@YashNico It's crazy, but I may do it...sounds like you live in the area...I saw a few years ago where some insane immigrant from Afrika murdered a citizen in Attendorn...do you know where the Pfeifer's were from? I need to get that photo album out and look at it again...my dad was 100% German, and mom was 1/2 German and 1/2 Swiss from a town in Switzerland, they were named Gottsponer...from the Alps of Switzerland...I'm constantly studying German History, it interests me a lot...for over 50 years now. There was a 500 year reunion of the town in Switzerland called Visperterminen in the late 1990's and my Aunt went to it...the Swiss people invited them from North America, and South America to come to Switzerland where they immigrated from over 100 years before...how the Swiss found those distant relatives is unknown....they must keep special records about who immigrated and where they went..it don't even seem possible to me after over 100 years, but they tracked them down like a blood hound and sent a letter and invited them to the celebration event, and she went...those Swiss people let them stay in their private homes...I'm not making this up...it happened. It's unbelievable to me. Are you prepared for this winter? Germany apparently may go cold...I'm keeping up with the war in the East and it don't look good for you...so sad to say...the politicans are totally insane...and ignorant of reality.
@@YashNico Next time I got to the cemetary, I will take a pic of their headstone...and prove, I'm telling the truth...Adolf passed away in 1908...and Maria, I can't remember her date of death...but, it's there on the headstone in the cemetary....I've already got my plot in that cemetary too...right beside my brother who has made that trip 6 feet down in 2006.
