@@wiccanroo6686 I’m not ‘casting speculations’ at all. I’m acknowledging that Oliver was perhaps gently dropping a hint in this interview which wasn’t necessarily evident at the time. In other words, I'm acknowledging the fact that he used the non-gender specific pronoun 'they' when discussing Buck's next potential (and at the time theoretical) love interest rather than trying to mislead the audience by using a 'she/her' pronoun, which is what people might have expected in regards to Buck - which I see as a testament to Oliver's own character and his respect for the fans.
Not only in their voices and accents are different, Oliver also seems much more mature and introspective than Buck, considering both were supposed to be the same age.

9-1-1 & Rookie crossover is very much a possibility. Not only because both shows are on ABC now, but also because Tim Minear has a good relationship with Nathan Fillion since from their Firefly days.
I always felt Buck wanted something more than friendship with Eddie. The way Buck behaved with Eddie was like more than a friend but more the a jealous boyfriend. Also, when Eddie was shot he acted more like a greaving Boyfriend than a friend. Buck was there more for Eddie and his son Chris than anyone else.
Watching Season 2, I was thinking that Buck had a low key crush on Eddie. Maddie even teased him about it. The problem is Eddie never showed romantic or physical/sexual interest to Buck whatsoever. I thought probably Buck's feeling has died down over time.
Ryan has said in an interview there are getting closer this season and there for each other this season for different reasons and the fans are getting what they want.
