Comic book - is that a tribute to Lauren Lyons? She was a fabulous educator when on the SpaceX youtube streams, and seems to be an in-demand person for getting space industry startups off the ground.
Ellie, truly professional appearance and poise. You have upped your game in a serious manner. Everyday, interviewers end up wasting time trying to show off their own knowledge instead of allowing the interviewee to finish a sentence. You let the interviewee speak and allow them to be the focus. Excellent job.
Thank you so much! That means a lot! I was a professional reporter for almost a decade so I’ve been trying to emulate that more, glad you notice a change!
Everyday get's to the technical like few can because of his background, having the story told without any tech has it's place too but she could 'up her game' by attempting to understand more.
@@Mrbfgray I don't think Shane was talking about Everyday Astronaut. I think he was just using the word "Everyday" in its usual usage, as in "everyday someone does something". It was just capitalized because it was the first word in the sentence.
It's incredible inspiration to see someone who is so good at something that is so hard to be good at. Not to mention the humility and intellectual generosity with which he conducts himself.
Excellent exclusive tour Ellie. Tom Mueller reveals so many expert insights into modern spaceflight development in this interview, Impulse Space are sure to succeed.
Your Tom mueller interviews are most exciting. SpaceX nails low cost per pound payload to Low Earth Orbit. And Tom Mueller’s high ISP engines will nail transportation of payloads from LEO to beyond. Both are crucial in creating a self sustaining lunar colony economy.
Tom is the best! Very smart and can explain things in a way everyday people can understand. You should definitely keep checking in with him. He will have engineered a huge portion of the future working space vehicles
i love Tom Mueller, so much knowledge and so down to earth, i would love to work with and for him. i was always interested in this guy for being the rocket engine mastermind of spacex, thanks for taking the time to interview this guy and getting to know him as a person.
I understand the need to protect the secrets regarding the development of the equipment, but it would have been so cool to actually see this equipment without blurring! You are growing in leaps and bounds in your ability to come up with one great question after another! Very grateful for your strong presence in the industry! Thanks Ellie!

Totally different thing hypergolics are way more reliable. They don’t need complex valves. The “green” propellants have more potential energy. Just harder to make a reliable engine. That’s why what these guys are doing is so revolutionary

Ellie … I would run this by Impulse so they can make sure Impulse is not revealing too much. Imagine the improved focus of effort any competitor would derive from this video. For example knowing to get reliability, you need to demonstrate 2000 thermal stress cycles. I love this interview so much it makes me think working for Impulse & Tom Mueller would be a dream job (even with the stress of 110% effort).

Great video. This is why i really like this channel. Thanks. Also i looked up the business jet SpaceX just got its a Boeing 737-800 airliner looks really cool painted black and silver. I'm assuming its used to transport employees around.
Wait, what,... Nitrous Oxide and Ethane? He's talking about chemicals that every Hot Rodder knows where to get. And while cold while compressed, they're not the cryogenic liquids Starship is using, but would easily be contained in thin walled COPV type tanks to keep the vehicle mass down. Edit: and there a few minutes later, Aluminium tanks getting Carbon Fiber wrapped,.... And while you're looking closely, the reflection in the glass shows one of the Impulse team doing a socials photos, You must be famous Ellie!!

But, all of these people live in a world that I can't fathom... I mean like, beyond. I loved your interview. Very excellent probing, and also, your "candy corn" observation was right on.

Ellie, you really did an exceptional job on this interview and tour at Impluse! I thoroughly enjoyed all 9f your questions and the resulting answers! Well done
Interesting listening to him, started with SpaceX but beginning his own venture. If space travel is going to be a reality, this is what will be needed; different models to meet different needs and budgets just like the auto industry. Elon is going for the truck and bus market, but someone might want to buy a sports car or motorhome.
Since Helios would be an oxygen rich closed cycle, how difficult was it to tame the hot oxygen? To stop it from becoming engine rich. Is Helios an ablative cooled engine or does it pump the ethane through cooling channels to get some higher ISP? How much horsepower does that turbine produce? How do you start the turbopump? Do you use nitrogen? Helium? Or do you start it with an electric motor?
