I am from Azerbaijan, and it’s evident to us that the plane was struck by a Russian SAM. The refusal to allow an emergency landing in Russia raises serious questions. There were multiple airports within 200 km of the incident, yet the plane was sent to Aktau, over 450 km away across the Caspian Sea. It seems they hoped the plane would crash in the sea. Only the incredible bravery and professionalism of the pilots (RIP) saved nearly half of the passengers.
By letting the plane leave Russian airspace, they made a critical miscalculation. If the crash had occurred on Russian soil, the site would have been cordoned off, evidence of missile damage would have been classified, and no one would ever have seen the truth. Russia has a long history of covering up such incidents- the Malaysian airliner MH17 shot down over Ukraine, Prigozhin’s aircraft, Lebed’s helicopter, Kaczyński’s plane, and many more.

Until today, Russia has not admitted responsibility for shooting down Malaysia Airlines flight MH17. The incident occurred on July 17, 2014, when the flight was shot down over eastern Ukraine, killing all 298 people on board. An investigation led by the Joint Investigation Team (JIT), which included authorities from the Netherlands, Australia, Belgium, and Ukraine, concluded that the missile that brought down the plane came from a Buk surface-to-air missile system, which was under the control of Russian-backed separatists in eastern Ukraine.
Despite these findings, Russia has consistently denied any involvement in the incident and has disputed the JIT's conclusions. The Russian government has also refused to hand over individuals who were accused of being involved in the downing of MH17, even though several suspects were identified, including Russian nationals, and the Netherlands requested their extradition.
In 2022, a Dutch court convicted three men-two Russians and one Ukrainian-of murder for their roles in the downing of MH17, but they remain outside the jurisdiction of the Netherlands, as Russia has refused to extradite them.

I dislike Russia as much as the next person - but the airport at Kazakhstan was by far the best landing option. When you're fighting to save an aircraft, political considerations about how your death will be covered up and by which authorities, is not on the flight plan. Why? Because you're planning to LIVE. Gaining altitude and flying over the sea are good options, it gives you time and a potential clear landing space. The Kazakh airport had good weather, and very flat and unobstructed surroundings. None of the Russian airports were conducive. I have extreme doubts that Russia was incompetent enough to shoot down a civilian airliner, but smart enough to try and cover it up by conspiring between the civilian tower and the military guys in the AA truck. It also doesn't make sense because it's outside of Russian jurisdiction, a coverup would be much easier to achieve in RUSSIA. 😂

Our plane was struck by a defense system, and the pilot attempted to land in neighboring regions like Dagestan, but the GPS navigation was deliberately disrupted. It’s clear that our plane was intentionally directed towards the sea to cover up what happened. Initially, they claimed it was a bird strike, but thanks to the skill of our pilot, the plane managed to land safely in Kazakhstan despite the GPS interference, preventing a far worse outcome. Ten years ago, from 2014 to this day, the trial in absentia in the Netherlands still causes controversy. “Was it the Russian military that shot down Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 or two Russian soldiers and a Ukrainian separatist who were guilty of killing all 298 people on board?” And no one asked who gave the orders to these three Russian soldiers to shoot the Buk 9M38 anti-aircraft missile system in civilian aircraft?
Today, it is the same story with the Azerbaijani airliner. It will be eternal trials with no results, and the Russian Government will never admit to their crime, and the participants in the trial will be guessing like it was in a trial in absentia in the Netherlands.
When it should be very simple to admit that a criminal Russian Government must be punished for their crime...

Nothing Russia does is an accident, they are commuting a crime that started in 2014 so they are responsible for the outcomes of that crime. They could have prevented this by not commuting the crime, or by ending the crime and going home. It is not a cruel war from both sides, it is from one side, who could end it at any time. Stop apologizing for criminal activity.

US downed a RAF Tornado, two F18s almost a F16,(which fired first and took out a PATRIOT) and probably another F18 in Iraq... who doesn't have aircraft. Thats not counting the Iranian airliner they took down. You know and then the F18 they took down just a couple days ago, including the second one they fired on and missed. What does that add up to?

I'm not an expert by any means when it comes to anti-aircraft weaponry, but there isnt any sign of damage to the plane as it crashes to the ground. No smoke, no signs that it was hit by a missile. And the fact that so many people survived?
Again, im no expert but those seem to be major details that everyone is ignoring
