As an American English/Spanish speaker, I love this! My Patron Saint is St. Thorlak of Iceland and my goal is to be able to pray to him in his native language.
The singer is Klara Osk Eliasdottir, a well known singer, both as solo and from a popular Icelandic bands such as the Charlies and Nylon. The video is recorded at the Reykjavik Cathedral
Some parallels to Old English too. Fæder ure þu þe eart on heofonum si þin nama gehalgod , tobecume þin rice, gewurþe þin willa , on eorðan swa swa on heofonum. syle us to dæg urne gedæghwamlican hlaf. Forgyf us ure gyltas, swa swa we forgyfað urum gyltendum and ne gelæd þu us on costnunge ac alys us of yfele. Soþlice.
Wow beautiful! Icelandic is actually quite like Old English. If you listen carefully and know the English words, you can see that at least half the words are virtually the same.
Beautiful !!!!!! God bless you ! Warmest and kindest regards from Rio de Janeiro!
I dearly hope that Iceland stays as pure as possible from the incursion of “diversity” on its population. They are such a pure, pristine, ancient stock of Europeans that should be 100% preserved!
Icelandic, German, Faroese, and Hebrew, are some of the best preserved languages. Fit for kings, prophets, and Luthers. (Count Hitler out. He is frying in hell, and deserves every sizzle, forever. Why he couldn't but serve the devil? Answer: He was a papist.)

This is really very beautifull in a way that cuteness is blended with the mystics of faith.
This is sooo beautiful! I only wish it had the Icelandic words transliterated on the screen so we could sing along with it. Thank you for sharing.

Excellent!
I speak Swedish and I can understand pretty much everything.
Det är vårat gamla språk... eller isländarna talar fortfarande det gamla språket (old norse)
Is there some Icelandic hero(ine) who would care to type out the lyrics, so we can try to sing along? Love from The Netherlands
Weird fact: Their language has hardly change since early settlements, enfasis on hardly.
their written language has hardly changed, the spoken language has changed dramatically.
This rendition is so heavenly!....is the sheet music available?...especially for flute?
