Wow your asking price is very reasonable . Some of the prices on the internet for model A are unreal . Your is more than fair and a full set of videos to show the work done . Hope she find a good home .
Jim, Some of the prices seem unreal because the amounts of money invested in the restorations are unreal. This is a very nice car offered at a very reasonable price. However if the car where to get a professional grade repaint with all of the associated fiddley body fitting and detailing, proper brush applied pin striping, a professional grade historically correct new interior, plating work as required, a fresh engine and other mechanical refurbishments, a Mitchell overdrive…. The car could move from a very nice A to a stunning example. The asking price of the stunning example could easily be double or more and the owner could still be bleeding money from his eyeballs and realize his labor was worth 10 cents per hour. This is one beauty of the A; there is something available for every budget.

Beautiful car Paul. I'd love to have a Model A, but with no garage it would be difficult. I'm partial to the Tudor sedan. I also like the 36-38 Chevrolet Master Deluxe two door models.
Wow, this was quick. This is the perfect first A for someone. Great price too. I wish I’d have the means at the moment; I would buy it in a heartbeat; the best thing is its provenance because you went through it and you have our utmost trust. Hopefully the new owner gets to enjoy it and take it further; they’re not making them anymore. 😉
Not that quick for me. Put every spare minute I had in it for the last 6 months. See the video where we took it from my dad's shop to my shop in February. It's been getting wrenched on ever since. Feels like an awful long time to me anyway. There are a couple more videos on this car's work coming up. Still editing those. They a lre a bit out of sequence because my dad wants to sell this one asap because of the new project car we already have and want to put inside. So, I had to slap this together and publish it before the other fixing up videos were published.
Whew, had me worried with the puppets there :) Good luck with the sale. Have enjoyed watching just about all your videos at this point, and appreciate the info!
I’d be there tomorrow if I weren’t stuck in Georgia thanks to Covid 19 travel constraints. A beautiful job well done. I had to give up on a ‘31 coupe in 1955. Oh well, maybe there’s another equally nice example somewhere over the horizon when we finally get ourselves transplanted to Oregon.
Fully sorted? I mean FULLY sorted? About twice that. But you will almost never see a fully (truly fully) sorted Model A for sale. Those sales are usually handled in private. The kind of people who scour for sale ads are not the kind of people who will pay for a really, really, truly FULLY sorted Model A. The kind of people who try to lowball you are not qualified to buy a truly fully sorted Model A.
I was drooling over Athena but I’m on a budget she wasn’t going to be mine, but boy did I get lucky and scored a 31 A in very good condition that looks 5 years old for a bargain $8,000! Im happy 😂 I waited!
Is there a video missing from the series on this car? The last restoration video is the completion of the wiring. There is mention at the end of that video about an upholstery installation video. Thank you Paul.
Terry you do make excellent videos, your camerawork editing seems top shelf. Perhaps the potential new owner will commission you to bring her up to daily driver condition so we can continue to see you scraping your knuckles.

i still have my grandfathers that he drove himself to highschool he bought back in 1950 still 100% original same year and same trunk rumble seat wana get it restored but no idea where to start
Howdy Paul, I'm asking you the following questions because I've watched your videos for some time. I like the way you communicate with your audience. My wife and I would like a Model A. Her Grandfather had a Model A much like your coupe with the cloth covered top. She was in line for receiving this Ford years ago. That did not happen. I had a couple of Model A's. A 1930 Fordor sedan. and a 1931 delivery. None of my Fords ever saw final Restoration. When I was in Junior College I got interested in Cadillac's. And that had been the disease that I have had the rest of my life. I am now 84 years young. The only antique car I have left is a 1948 Cadillac Sedanette. I've owned and worked on this car for 43 years. It is not finished and does not currently run. It is an absolute rust free car and has been garaged for it's total life. We would like to trade this car for a Model A Coupe. I know you don't deal in Cadillacs. But do in Model A. So my last Question Is. How might you help My Wife and Myself make contacts with the right People. Thanks Claudia and Don "Don's Old Garage" on UA-cam.
Hey Paul, prepping my garage for my new to me A. Are there any specific tools other than a basic socket set and other such basic things that you would recommend. What would you recommend as a permanent carry in the car on tours and things? Thanks, Brantley
Good work Brantley. Just basic wrenches and sockets. Get a timing tool and a grease gun with the proper end. What to carry? I did a Q&A video with a question about that...
Hi Paul I have a 1930 fordor that has fuel tank that sweats fuel from the bottom. Is their a way to clean and seal without distroying the paint , I has googled it and it says do not hot dip your tank ..so many products...JB weld fuel tank patch ??? Do you have any advise
It "sweats" fuel?? If so, that means it has become porous. If it's porous, that means it has rusted through. If it rusted through, it needs to be replaced or maybe it can be saved by hot tanking it and soldering it up. Either way, you need to remove it from the car. Take it to a radiator shop for an opinion.
Hay Paul, thanks for your previous help. I have another question I know you have answered in earlier videos but would like to save time searching through them. When I am easing down a hill with the breaks on my A idles more slowly and sometimes dies. The harder I break, the more it is apt to die. I think you said it has something to do with the float adjustment but I need to know for sure before I tear into it. What should I do? Thanks in advance.
Bypass watching the videos that help support my household? I need people to watch the videos!! Just this once... Float level or a vacuum leak causes that.
@@ModelA I have watched all your videos since i found you on UA-cam and subscribed but I do not remember which one has the information I am looking for. I do not have a vacuum leak but I suspect the float level is wrong. Is this condition usually caused by a low float setting or high? Just trying to get it right the first time : ) Thanks
Hi Paul enjoy your videos ! What is the official color of this model A you have for sale ? (my friend has one the same color we don't know what color maroon it is.) thank you George

Watching you restore Athena allows me to live vicariously through your videos. I am superbly pleased that you have another car to restore. I eagerly look forward to the next series. Thank you for the “Bommerist” channel on UA-cam…
Well, if you nearly died just presenting the car, surely something is seriously wrong with it ;) Just kidding, having seen all the detailed videos about the car's condition - and all the work you put into it, 15k seems more than a fair price - you'll have her sold in no time!

Your DAD mentioned a basket case model a truck in the last q&a video I would be interested? THANKS FOR THIS REPLY!!
Let’s title this a public service announcement. I recommend, and would recommend to any parent of a daughter or son showing interest in mechanics or a career in engineering, the Model A as a first car. Yes, I recognize and respect the concern of safety. The two wheeled vehicle - motorcycle, scooter, moped - has set what most recognize as a minimum acceptable level of safety for today’s highway travel. I believe the Model A surpasses this minimum safety threshold by a good margin. Paul’s clever slogan “I am the warranty “ could be reworded “I am the safety “ . My safety score while riding a motorcycle rests squarely on my shoulders. Likewise while driving my “A”. The reasons for suggesting the “A” would warrant an essay to fully explain. Many of the reasons are almost cliche, so I’ll stick to a few under appreciated points. 1. The well sorted A, as Paul would say , with the prescribed routine maintenance is a reliable ride. Perhaps more importantly it is designed to be repaired. The car is at home with a hammer, pliers, screwdrivers, a Monkey wrench, bent nails, and baling wire. A Monkey wrench is a real thing and was a ubiquitous tool in the day. This car was successful at a time when a good portion of the population was cash short. 2. The “A” is an engineering tour de force. Crawl underneath, look around: the lineage from horse carriage to horseless carriage is obvious. Who would have thought engineers were considering the influence of unsprung weight when refining their design? It certainly appears so. A few years later, Citroen took this to an extreme with the 2CV. A lightweight auto owning the claim “Able to drive at speed across a plowed field with a basket of eggs in the back seat.” I drove a 2CV as a main, err only, driver for many years; the claim may be true. Bottom line, the “A” offers much food for thought for a developing engineering mindset. 3. With the exception of the Freeway, the “A” is a roadworthy auto. The Mitchell gearbox is golden! 4. Parts are universally available and inexpensive. I can honestly say there is better parts coverage for “A” than for my two modern vehicles. 5. If the brakes don’t work well - FIX THEM And lastly for the budding engineer - not following the flock, the path less traveled, and learning to analyze the how and why of a design can be good for the career. Practice this skill on your first car. Congratulations to the new owner! Enjoy
Myrl- This is the absolute BEST response I have seen. Do you have the ability to record a video of yourself reading this that I could include in a future video? It's THAT good.
Good explanation as why you are selling it. Good luck on a fast sale. I prefer the puppet sales pitch. Also, did you explain how this video as almost killed you?
Hey TMH! I have become rather attached to this car. Dad says sell it, and he's half owner. So, it was deeply painful to have to make this because I don't want to sell it. I felt actual pain in my chest when making it. When I threw this together, I was just wrapping up another fix-up video on it (coming soon) where I even talked about how much I like this car now.
Wow beautiful with a rumble Seat nice would have got that one but to far away in Windsor Ontario Canada i do call it California Canada HA HA most southern City across the creek from Detroit.
If I post it here in a comment, you know what will happen. The spam bots will render it worthless like my last one. Just go to the UA-cam home page (click on my user name below any video) and the click the about tab. It is available there.
Gee - fer 15K, I could buy a brand-new second-hand econo-box with only 35K mi. In the real world, I could easily zip you a CC fer 15K, but at 79 (80 in 2 wk), with enough dry-rot to keep Medicare in biznis fer many moons, I'll just have to let 'Er go. Great videos. Wonderful car. Best wishes.
Well Ferd, my dad is 91, about to turn 92 and he still drives a Model A. But I understand, and wish you the best my friend! I'll keep making Model A videos if you keep watching them.
Email is on the "about" tab. Be warned- I get around 50 emails a day from people asking for help with Model A's. It has reached the point that I cannot keep up. I am not able to answer them all now.
The Model "A"cars makes people happy to see it but not happy enough to own one. I have been a member of the Ill. Region of the club for 50 years and have seen it deteriorate to a point where it just wants to support that model "A" museum in Gilmore Mich. ( it's beautiful but a white elephant) Unless the clubs do some thing to create a demand for the restored Model "A"cars in the future, they will wind up in the scrap yards.
The price of the Model "A" restored cars is a fraction of what it cost to restore them, parts and labor about $50 grand. What price did you get for the car?@@ModelA
Argh! It kills me that I don't have the cabbage right now to buy it! As Whimpy said, "I'd gladly pay you tomorrow for a hamburger today!" Nah, I suppose that doesn't quite work with Model A's....
There are 3 people willing to buy her today, so far. I am waiting for the first guy to fully commit yes or no, then going to second , etc. The telephone is going nuts right now!
Nope! I'm sad and relieved all at the same time. You wouldn't believe how many emails I got from people trying to lowball me and get me to deliver it to them.. One guy telling me that I would be lucky if he takes it off my hands because he's gonna chop and channel it, make a show hotrod out of it etc. What a crazy day.
Someone explain to me how a car like this is $15K but a complete pile of hodgepodge rusty parts thrown together to make an unsafe ‘rat rod’ goes for more?

¡CONGRATULATIONS!🎈🎊
You sold that in record time!
It was priced to sell, not to rip anyone off.
@@ModelA You are right; we get lost in the wonderful videos and lose our notion of time. Great price for it too; it’ll sell quick.
I need to go check the email account!
@@ModelA SOLD! 😉
I can't get in to the email. I think it's down. Hmmm...
Beautiful classic Ford 1931 Model A couple! 😘🚙😀 Mike from Missouri
Well Paul thats one you cant show Jay Leno! Love to have got it myself. Glad to hear you have more in the pipeline.
I don't think Jay would want to see this one anyway. Thanks, Ivan! Time to go in the shop and have some sellers remorse now.
I'm late to the party here, but I almost spit out my coffee with your doug impression!
HahahHaaaa!! Did you see how I did my hair for that clip? Full dedication to the bit!!
Whew, had me worried with the puppets there :) Good luck with the sale. Have enjoyed watching just about all your videos at this point, and appreciate the info!
Thanks Adam!
Paul ,you did a fantastic job on this Car and priced it right, if I didn't already have 2 As I would be interested in it...good luck!!
Thanks Jason. I didn't want to gouge anyone, and I am in it for a little more than asking price, so was trying not to give it away either.
I seen a beautiful 1931 Model A coupe today in Dallas
Lovely car and very tempting! Lots of good work into her.
Lots left to do
@@ModelA Any major work left? minor stuff should be no problem.
It's all listed the description. Not too bad. Nothing major.
Shipping to Canada, the exchange rate etc are a killer for me! What’s a fair price for a fully “sorted” Model A? $20k range?
Wow! Score!!
Is there a video missing from the series on this car? The last restoration video is the completion of the wiring. There is mention at the end of that video about an upholstery installation video. Thank you Paul.
Yes. There are 2 more. Had to rush this one to the front because my partner wants to make room for the new project car NOW. Sorry for the confusion.
And by "partner", you know who I'm talking about..
This is tempting. Sounds like I’ll need to line up a flatbed, get it to Michigan here. Hmm….thinking.
Sorry, John. It is sold.
Athena has been through some hard times, but it's looking great, and whoever gets to take her home is truly lucky ( the puppets though 😆)
I loved the puppets. Had to take the seats out to do that shot. Totally worth it.
@@ModelA absolutely worth it! 😂 Hoping to see them again soon 😂
beautiful A bone. Very nice presentation, Paul. I would love to give her a good home but that would require having to get rid of something.
Many thanks
Terry you do make excellent videos, your camerawork editing seems top shelf. Perhaps the potential new owner will commission you to bring her up to daily driver condition so we can continue to see you scraping your knuckles.
Thanks Mack! The next project car is already under way.
@@ModelA Maybe if you help your wife with her projects, we can get your better half in your videos she is prettier than you. (Forgive my teasing the cure is under development)
@@mackfisher4487 Oh yes, the spouse unit will appear in the next 2 videos. Tease away, Mack. If you ever stop teasing, we assume your account has been hacked and it isn't you!
Oh man! You’re killing me.
Paul, how is the best way to clean Model A"s? You mentioned in one of your videos that you do not usually use water. Many thanks for any help! Dan
I have a whole video on that in production now. Please stand by
Aftermarket cup holder? What happened to the original cup holder? Just kidding. Thanks for another great Model A video Paul.
Now, THAT was funny!!
Man , I would love to have her but just do not have space. Hope she gets a great home.

Thanks Mike!
@@ModelA It was nearly what I was looking for, just wrong timing.
Thanks Paul, Mike
What a beauty.
Просто красавец! На пределе автомобильного вкуса!
Just beautiful! At the limit of automotive taste!
This car has my name all over it. The color combo is perfect for me and I’ve need following your videos of her. I know you have her “sorted”. I’m in Georgia though and it would probably be gone before I could get there. Plus you said it’s not ready to drive across country. I don’t know if that’s something I would want to do anyway. Wish it were closer.

Hey Douglas! No, not even close to sorted. But a decent monthly club tour unit.
When are you going to introduce the next project?
@@douglaslambert579 The next project has made a couple appearances already, but in the background. Two more videos with Athena, and then the new car will make an appearance!
Good morning Paul love this car
Thank you Ramon!
What a beuatifu lold car.I would love to have her in garage here in New Zealand but its just not practical for me. I am sure some car loving person will buy her and continue to look after a unique piece of automotive history. I have a pretty much original 1966 Ford Mustang and I love driving her, as like your Model A's, she turn heads as you drive along the road. I am not sure how I will eventually part with her but I suppose the time will come. Cheers and keep the film clips coming as I love your down to earth honest presentations. Ian Langley New Zealand
Thanks Ian! Kindest regards to you and your Mustang!
Seriously happy to send it no charge. MAYBE we can set up something to help raise $$$$$$ for projects etc etc. I have done two 1930 model a builds and a dozen circa 1950's restorations. I am partial to pre war FORD. Love all stock originals and a select traditional 4 bang hip ups too!
If we traded mags for a Model A, do you realize what that would do to the egos of the lawmakers of my goofball state? Hahahaaa!!!
@@ModelA yeah I have 1st hand experience with Ca doj . I was a gun dealer there and jumped through the hoops. 10 wait Hsc card safe affidavits. Yada yada.....no thanks.

I know what you mean. ugh...
Awesome car Paul. I would keep the puppets for Mr. Rogers lol. Right? Wishing I had another parking space. Btw. I've got a new leak at the back of oil pan area. Any ideas ? Tips. I'm going to consider pulling the pan and try a new gasket.
before you pull the pan, try snugging up the bolts around the back. Sometimes you get lucky.
I know it will find a new home. We are all just "caretakers". Athena was loved by more than it's other owners. I thought you were trying to catch up with Jay Leno! There'll be another, happy searching.
i still have my grandfathers that he drove himself to highschool he bought back in 1950 still 100% original same year and same trunk rumble seat wana get it restored but no idea where to start
Start by finding a Model A club near you!
Do the 2 two tooth steering box adjustment video.
When you think of how little $15,000.0 buys today, that is a steal!
Yep! Thanks Ben.
Thanks Claudia and Don
"Don's Old Garage" on UA-cam.
Oh no, gone ??? I love that car !!!
Gone
Hey Paul, prepping my garage for my new to me A. Are there any specific tools other than a basic socket set and other such basic things that you would recommend. What would you recommend as a permanent carry in the car on tours and things?
Thanks,
Brantley
Good work Brantley. Just basic wrenches and sockets. Get a timing tool and a grease gun with the proper end. What to carry? I did a Q&A video with a question about that...
@@ModelA thanks Paul!
@@jimmydolittle5479 If it dies when braking, that's usually too high.
Hi Paul enjoy your videos ! What is the official color of this model A you have for sale ? (my friend has one the same color we don't know what color maroon it is.) thank you George
It isn't an official Ford color. It's just some generic red.
Wow, awesome! Well done
Thanks Kevin
I am completely gutted… watching you restore this car is the high point of every foray in UA-cam. I hope that you get another car to restore… someone is going to get a great car, I wish it was me

Great model A
Let’s title this a public service announcement.
5. If the brakes don’t work well - FIX THEM
And lastly for the budding engineer - not following the flock, the path less traveled, and learning to analyze the how and why of a design can be good for the career. Practice this skill on your first car.
Congratulations to the new owner! Enjoy
Myrl- This is the absolute BEST response I have seen. Do you have the ability to record a video of yourself reading this that I could include in a future video? It's THAT good.
Loved the name. I think I will call mine Exxon Valdez.
Bwahahaa!! You almost made me do a spit-take!
Wish I could...
Hello paul I’m working on a 28 5 window coupe looking for sheet metal hoping you could send me in the right direction thank you
You need someone with Model A bodies laying around. My first suggestion would be to get in touch with your local Model A club and ask around.
Is it still for sale or sold already
Sold
Oh, please, _please_ let there be somewhere a _Model A_ race series...

Email is on the "about" tab. Be warned- I get around 50 emails a day from people asking for help with Model A's. It has reached the point that I cannot keep up. I am not able to answer them all now.

Nicely done. I am sure she will be gone by the end of the day. oh and I am glad you didn't stick with the puppets.
Thanks! Me too. We had to take the seat out just to do that.
This is my dream , but in Brasil it is very expensive.
Considering that I got over 100 commitments to buy this Model A in just 1 weekend, I'd say the future looks pretty bright from my perspective!
The price of the Model "A" restored cars is a fraction of what it cost to restore them, parts and labor about $50 grand. What price did you get for the car?@@ModelA

I thought so too.
If I only had the money.
That didn’t take long! Oh well.

I laughed out loud there! xP
Imagine trying to keep a straight face (and a lisp) while doing it.
Someone explain to me how a car like this is $15K but a complete pile of hodgepodge rusty parts thrown together to make an unsafe ‘rat rod’ goes for more?
I have been wondering that myself.
Would absolutely love to have her……but no way I can swing it.
