Beautiful job Paul and Tina. I’m hoping you will get another project car and take us along every step of the restoration. Of course the upside is that in the end, you will have a Model A that will practically sell itself and you can make a few dollars. I think it’s a good format for your show.

I know, right? Thanks Dennis! There are a couple people in the Model A community whom I have apparently rubbed the wrong way and give all my videos a thumb down. Joke is on them because thumbs up or down all count the same! They both count toward "engagement" in UA-cam's algorithm. If they really wanted to hurt my video channel, they shouldn't do anything al all. Then my engagement will go down and UA-cam won't recommend my videos as often.

    Hi paul dwight hear.
    I have a recommendation
    For any electrical
    Ground be it positive
    Or negative ground
Connect a flexible hefty ground strap
From the clamshell to the frame also.
    Because power may
Go through gears and other mechanical things and cause
Intermittent power flow to the lights or any
Other electrical hardware internal arcing through the gears can cause premature ware and pitting in the gears of the transmission or axle and differential
They'll get noisy and fail metal will show up
    In the oil. For instance
If a ground from the Battery is connect to an engine then an additional ground should be connected from
The engine to the frame and body to keep the power from
    Flowing through moving parts wich
    Is not good. The drive
    Trane may be mounted
    On rubber mounts or
    Insulators and cause
    High resistance.

Great video Paul, as per your suggestion I lowered the float level by adding another gasket to the float valve although it was right on the 1 inch that the Andrews manual calls for, measures 1 & 1/8 now and seems to have cured the problem of dying when breaking going downhill. I have only driven it once since. The battery has shot craps now, less than 2 yr's old, Orilleys finest. What battery do you recommend? Also I have one of those elbow type air cleaners you see on most A's now days and while messing with the carburetor I noticed the fit is so bad a lot of dirt is bypassing the filter. What do you use?

    • @ModelA

Optima batteries! I use the K&N filter sold by Bert's Model A Center and others for the Air Maze kits.

@@ModelA Berts is out of stock and the Air Maze is what I have and it allows a lot of air to bypass the filter element which is basically screen wire, not good! I think I can modify it to be more usable until I can find something better.

Paul, wanting this car could be a problem. Reminds me of when my grandson was little, we would go to the box store and travel down the toy aisle. I could see his eyes light up. I would say to him, ' OK, sure you can get a toy, just one though'. That last part of my go ahead was so frustrating for him. He would pick up one, see another one, pick that one instead. This would go on as long as I would let it. I'd say, 'OK, we have to go, so pick one now'. So, this Athena is giving you the same conundrum. Do I keep her or sell her? So I keep her and sell another one? I know, the questions just keep coming. Maybe you fantastic wife can help you out here. Maybe she could claim Athena as hers, maybe? I mean after all Paul, it does have a female name. The only thing I can see that might give you pause is if your wife has Hooptie and you have to ask if you can drive her. haha. Good luck with is decision.
