- Nicholas has a very different take on what Powell and the Fed will do tomorrow and in the weeks ahead. But, he is with the majority on the critical part. Rates are coming down. What is happening with commodities?

We have two goals on this channel. Provide useful information about Elon Musk and his related businesses and provide some context to the Tesla stock story as it relates to the economy, the macro, the fundamentals, and the technicals.
I have written 10 books about small business, several of which are currently available on Amazon, including two Amazon Best Sellers about Elon Musk.

1:03:05 the heck out of talking to you
These segments with Nick have become some of my favorite content across all the Tesla oriented channels. It’s refreshing to hear someone younger who is rational and makes clear in his own mind what he knows, what he is uncertain of, and what he doesn’t know instead of putting out opinions as raw facts. He calls ‘em like he sees them.
Nick is my favourite guest on your show.
17:00 - Thanks for Nicholas pointing this out: AGI - original thought, not trained thought.
Nicolas may be right that FSD will be good enough at the end of year for robotaxi, but I also know the plethora of missed development dates, and that the last few percents of solving any problem take increasing more time. We’ll see.
Easier, and more profitable routes, like airport to city can be introduced before more difficult urban to urban routes.
Business Model: So, what we know now is that FSD, although not perfect, is better at driving than humans. What we also know now is that the Feds, State and local governments allow “supervised” FSD driving. Tesla says to customers: “If you buy my car, drive it using FSD “supervised,” I will pay for the insurance, maintenance/repairs and buy the electricity, so long as you pay me `$0.35/mile.”
Moore's Law states that the number of transistors on a microchip doubles about every two years with a minimal cost increase. In 1965, Gordon E. Moore, the co-founder of Intel, made an observation that eventually became known as Moore's Law.
The difference between AGI and Super Intelligence must be made clear.
Nick mentioned them nearly as the same thing.
AGI is a Programm, that can do nearly everything a human could do. Writing a poem, calculating something, cooking a dish and driving a car, etc.
Super intelligence can not only imitate one or a few humans, it is more intelligent than all humans ever lived.
It’s like Einstein, N. Tesla, Edison, and all other great minds from the past combined in one with thousands of times the speed of thought.
AGI will never get us new inventions IMO, Super intelligence will for sure! 👍
at least 3 years no accident to be under insurance acceptability. So if we ,say, use number of days, it will be 99.3% of the time with no accident.
Accidents happen in seconds....than its 99,9999989...% :)
Using statistical % of crashing is the only metric we can...
I would never get in a car that is only 99% safe. Statistically that means it will crash 1 out of 100 days (if driven once per day)
It needs to be be at least 99.9% to feel reasonably safe (that's 1 crash every 2.7 years with 1 drive a day) still not a great but worth the gamble.
I have no doubt we will get there soon and way surpass 99.9, but it's a minimum stat that has to be reached.
Maybe I am missing something 🤷🏼♂️
If human drivers, on average, have a 99.9% accident rate (one minor accident out of 1,000 days of driving), then FSD only needs to have a 99.99% accident rate to be 10 times safer. The average person will insist they are better than FSD, no matter what their actual accident rate is. FSD won't DUI, or text, or get distracted or tired or sick, or sleepy. However, there may be glitches and bugs and hacking and hardware failures. No machine is perfect 100% of the time. For a long time, people will insist they are safer driving themselves than letting FSD control the car. FSD accidents will be hyped and overblown. But eventually, young people will not bother to learn how to drive (or buy a car). FSD will continue to improve over time, but human driving will NOT. Old folks driving manual cars will become a meme for a disaster waiting to happen, the terror of the highways. In the near future, people who claim to be better than FSD will be laughed at like an amateur chess player today who claims they can always beat the computer.
Any comment on Elon suspending the dudes4kamala X account? That raised 4 mil for her over an hour Zoom call. Or do we ignore that and just stay in our conservative propaganda safe space
There is a large portion of UA-cam Tesla Influencers ignoring anything Elon does the could have a negative effect on the stock. Tweets, Political Endorsements, Compromised BOD and Conflicts of Interest are never mentioned. Not one word. Calling negatives FUD doesn't make it go away.
possibility--
there were two accounts created:
@dudesforharris
and
@dudes4harris
. The latter was first and had more followers. It was suspended for “ban evasion.” This may have been triggered as an algorithmic response to the creation of the second account, or it could have been malicious. @davetroy
Is Moores Law still relevant ? Efficiency-resource-hardware-economics-the past
I think I'll walk.
Chuck roods new fsd 12.5.1 was a huge disapointment....
I so agree!
Depends if we continue to see Fatale accidents.
It absolutely needs to be near perfect. Lives will absolutely be lost.
Just like humans driving? Only far fewer fatalities, fewer rear end bump, fewer jumped red light crashes etc etc. yes there will still be accidents but no where near as many as distracted or DUI humans achieve.
You guys really couldn't be more wrong on Trump. Trump is somebody who is small-minded and is the opposite example of neuroplasticity. It's clear in hearing him talk about Bitcoin and Ev's that he has no idea. He talks at a high level without detail because he lacks knowledge on many subjects.
by the end of this year ....maybe ? 12-16 months probably
Nick seems to have some underlying anger issues. He is a fake nice guy.
Based on videos published by Dillon Loomis I remain skeptical FSD will be ready by the end of this year. Interesting that once again RK ignores what Dillon Loomis is reporting.
Microsoft did not miss. It’s already started to recover and very likely will be up tomorrow.
Russia just legalized Bitcoin
Really? LOL. Bitcoin is primarily used for illegal or secret transactions. So, that makes sense. Lots of corruption and financial crime there.
No way in hell will Robotaxi be ready by year end. Probably, 3-5 years away at best.
Incorrect
Wrong
Agree it is not likely FSD will be ready by year end, but 3-5 years is too far out. More like 12-18 months. It is also important for everyone to be on the same page with what "ready" really means. I don't think it will be ready until occupants can give verbal instructions (grok) to the vehicle when it doesn't know what to do.
RoboTaxi won't be here 10 years from now.
FSD isn't registered with SAE as Level-3 autonomous driving
FSD is supposed to be L4 - 5 years away
RoboTaxi needs L5 - 10 years away
RoboTaxi is another elon "Happy Talk" item that never leads anywhere...
From AI (Claude):
As of July 2024, a few vehicles have achieved SAE Level 3 autonomous driving certification in certain markets, though the availability is still limited. Here's an overview:
Honda Legend (Japan):
In March 2021, Honda became the first automaker to sell a Level 3 autonomous car with its Legend sedan in Japan. However, this was a limited production run.
Mercedes-Benz S-Class and EQS (Germany and potentially other markets):
In December 2021, Mercedes-Benz received approval for its Drive Pilot system, making it available on certain S-Class and EQS models in Germany. They have been working on expanding this to other markets.
BMW 7 Series and i7 (Germany and potentially other markets):
BMW announced in late 2022 that it had received approval for its Level 3 system in Germany, planning to make it available in certain 7 Series and i7 models.
Tesla is nowhere to be found - falling way behind.
Erm, no.
So robotaxi doesn’t need to be perfect. Your kidding right lol
You know elon is not serious about FSD when he has NO idea when FSD is "ready"
as an engineer, I need a number - let's say 83% accuracy is good enough?
That's the odds of "winning" Russian Roulette with a six-shooter.
How about 90%
Play Russian Roulette with a 10-shot 22 revolver - is that any better?
This all comes back to elon not being serious about FSD - it is something that started off small and AI geeks
convinced elon that AI would easily solve the self-driving problem. 5+ years later and many more years to go elon probably knows FSD is in a lot of trouble.
I've said many times that FSD needs to measure every turn and stop as an "event"
So on a 50-mile daily trip, it might have 250 "events" or 5 per mile
If I drive 365 days a year at 50 miles per day that's 18,250 miles per year or 91,250 "events" a year for just me.
Let's say elon picks six-sigma accuracy rate like most of the automotive world does with parts
well, 6-S means it is 99.99966% accurate
or 3.4 bad events for every 1,000,000 events (an error every 294,117 events)
for me that would mean FSD should expect to have a collision/crash every 3.25 years
Now multiply that by 1,000,000 Teslas using FSD daily
and FSD will quickly get the reputation of Russian Roulette in a Tesla...
Elon said that it will be 10x-100x safer than an average human driver for approval
@@chensien75 What does that mean?
What is "safer?"
measuring the number of deaths per million miles driven is really measuring
my driving skills and not FSD since I decide to activate it when things are less hectic
just doing that probably means 10X "safer" all by itself
@RandyKirk-UA-camChanel Chanel again?
Near $200, then continued bull trend.
Nick be mad
Guy disagrees with everyone on everything
I am still going to pick RFK jr.
