you're eating across Texas and I'm eating my way around Minneapolis LOL I saw Hamburguesas the other day. One you needed to try is a Waco staple, Whizzbangs, its used to be called Captain Billy Whizzbangs lol

The only burger joint you went to in this video I have been to was Twisted Root in Abilene, Tx the biggest town I live close to (60 miles). They are definitely not a place to go to for a good burger of any kind! Ironically, I have to go to the Twisted Root in June for our monthly "retired & not so retired coworkers " meal. It's a group decision. Sooo, I shall have to muddle through it once more. You are right tho, the 80s rock is superb. Kinda' helps take the sting out of the price and taste of their food~~😎
A lot of people have commented about twisted root having bad burgers. Next time I'll be going to other places.
Interested in your take of the In N Out Vs Whataburger debate. As a native Californian I have bias, but I think In N Out is king.

Elk can be overwhelmingly gamey if it's not tamed down properly. Super disappointing honestly. I agree that if you're going to combine sweet and savory, they need to complement each other instead of clash like the jam and mustard did in the burger.

There’s an old burger joint near me that sells texas burgers .
Kind of a combination of burger and torta . 3/4 lb burger topped with carné asada , refried beans, guacamole and freshly roasted green chilies smothered with Monterey cheese.
So good.
In the name of all things right people have to stop putting burgers on fake brioche buns. Brioche is (should be) a heavy, sweet eggy bread. Stop making soft buns with yellow food coloring and calling it brioche. Burgers need a strong plain white bun. I agree with your winner at the end. Fig jam is very sweet.

Twisted Root sucks. Overpriced and gamey. Back in the day, their hot dogs were better. Such a disappointment.

Chop House Burger in Arlington, TX is one of the best. Brisket burger is so fine. Man, y'all need to not go so bougie. So Lame. I've explored burgers all over this country and this was a total let down. I lived in DFW for 20+ years and grew up in Kansas City with it's huge cattle history. Burgers, like comedy, are subjective and I hate that you're steering people to expensive, bougie places.
