man those Pearls sound soooo much better than the Dynasty's they used for years.
Rip pearl, apperantly BD is going back to dynasty since system blue went bankrupt
Flarfatron I thought it was Ludwig, not dynasty
Nathan Nguyen oh, I heard it was dynasty. Would be great to see Ludwig make a comeback and score a sponsorship with BD. Then again, anything is better than system blue.
@@flarfatron2190 guess what system blue isn’t dead they basically just merged with ludwig
they look like they would be the bad guys if there was ever a movie about drum lines
You're gonna be shocked when you hear about the movie "Drumline"

anyways
Not the hardest licks in the world, but supremely clean. Piss clean, as my late drum instructor used to say.
Love how the end snare is center the year after this
And snare tech at Pacific Crest ;)
The beginning of that feature sounds cool with the rim clicks!
Still one of my favorite snare breaks of all time. 0:00-0:13
we have the same name
Such cool beats! I LOVE this video! They are all so talented! It’s my goal to drum at this level by my age out! Going into my first drum corps season this summer! Super stoked!
This is one of my favorite drum videos
We just love to get better as the season goes on ;)
Its crazy that the center snare (nick) is our drumline instructor
Kevin Quiñones you had a good one!
Well said!!
I'm not usually a fan of BD, but holy hell. I can definitely say that they earned the drums trophy this year.
I miss when BD's books sounded like this ngl
1:09 great shot of the hands. Thanks for that!!
You guys are good
Awesome!
wow. nice stuff!
Yes, She also marched Bluecoats 2011 and Chino Hills
Yep! And marched Bluecoats in 2011 and marches Pulse :)
@Gerson Gomez, those are corps necklaces. You get one for each year you are there
Jeez I miss when bd used pearl
I love how people are just walking by casually. Its like, STOP AND WATCH THE FUCKING BLUE DEVILS.
I'm from the east coast, and I really like it.
Same here I understand what you're saying. Sometimes lines are just amazing, they don't have to be dirty at the start, but who's not to say that something can be incredibly challenging but at the same time musical? Both are highly important aspects of the percussion score, so if we can ramp up both, why not. I understand that by making the book harder, you can sometimes lose musicality, but ScoJo has his way of maintaining musicality while offering an insane book to his line.
God there is power in those snares
It’s cool that nick was center for quads and snare
that mini snare break at 1:33 makes me smile.
yes
Yeah I saw that! Very obvious in comparison to the line
what part of the show were they playing at the very beginning? (0:04)
whats the check pattern at 0:27
I have some of the same videos, and audio, the flash pictures you see being taken, I have on my facebook.
Can someone tell me what sticks they use for snare
One line you can definitely see so many different techniques is SCV. Their snare line is a mix of guys. But, they have one great thing going for them. Musicality out of the ass! That's why they sound so good and make "easy" things sound "easy".
Anyone know what kinda sticks they're using?
:22 IS THAT THE KID FROM UP IN THE BACK?
man I wanna do that with my band, god they are pretty fucking good
WEll yeah they make SOOOO many changes XD
can anyone tell me where I could find any Pearl FFX snares like that online?
Does anyone know why nick was center snare over Keelan ?
damn RGIII can do anything!
what are those rings hanging around their necks?
Does Anybody Know Whats The Name Of The First One They Played
So their center snare for the 2012 *season* marched tenors there in 2010/2011? Whata guy.
Snare is easier :)
Who in Hades would DISLIKE this?! I pitty the fool who gave this a thumbs down!
they are using the pro mark system blue scojo's.
POV: you’re hear watching this after coming from Kyle Tsuchiya’s latest video
whats the first warm up they played???
i took 3 showers today and this was cleaner
I have watched this video 129308723570935 times
That girl looks familiar...did she march with pulse percussion this past season?
wasn't the center on the quad line in 2010
2009 too.
Those are some really big cigarettes...
what
Their sticks.
D Kerr boy am i a dipshit

HEY YOURE ON THE XYMOX PAGE AND THOSE ARE RINGS FROM PAST SEASONS ON A CHAIN.
i think hes talking about Corey Sajous, on the other side of Nick.
Indeed he does, the bass line is gonna sound sick this year too with joey martinez as their tech.
haha yeah I know. I posted this just to see how people react. I marched Scouts snareline I think I got the idea haha. this is just the way I wanted people to react tho haha.
Bluecoats, Phantom, SCV, and Spirit of Atlanta.
@Sam Pisona, I can't agree to that because there were some snare lines in the past that blew this one out of the water. Remember in the world of drums there is no such thing as permenant best.
nice pearl snare drum
I'm very familiar with that saying haha. Agreed about the different backgrounds even though a decent number of these guys are from BDB.
oh, and rhythm x 2009
That's the point.
I should know this, but what is the 3rd warm up called? Thanks
None of these are really "warmups" rather just excerpts from the show.
the stuff they play at 1:21 is pretty impressive.
keuuurennnnn
@Sam Pisano: I wouldn't go that far. It was a pretty sick line but definitely not the best.
Those aren't corps necklaces. Usually if you don't want to wear your rings in the hornline, you put them on a necklace. Drumline you can't drum with rings on so they have to wear necklaces. Same with pit and guard. Those are championship rings.
Only Keelan, Amir, Chris, Brandon, Joey, and I think most of the basses are from BDB
They use Vic Firth Ralphie Jr./Sr.'s, same sticks used by most drumlines. Mine use them. I am only guessing by the look from the video, though
they use dc50s
they usually are until finals week, then they just give everyone the t(^_^t) and get it together. ScoJo told me the only show he aims for is finals, he doesn't water parts just to be clean mid-season
Two guys to the right of Keelan marched through 2015 i believe.
+WoahDrumFeatures 2014
Cxrtah one was center til 2014
@Sam Pisano: It's not the best.. But it's honestly one of the better lines to ever emerge in DCI. I love BD's 2012 line, it was killer. Along with the Coats line.
It's percussion the more in sync they sound the better it's for competition.
Being clean isn't everything. Musicality and variety are also important, as well as staging demands. I'm sure there's even other factors as well. While judging isn't perfect, I trust them over anyone watching from the stands. They have the best perspective, and understand all of the different demands the members are performing through. Not to mention the changes to their book mid season, which may have made them more dirty while they worked it out. It was designed to peak by finals.
I reallllllly love nicks technique... Just me?
they didn't blink, they looked down.
chris bosh*
Best snareline ever?
should've kept the mid-season staches
Those are rings, not bells.
changes. that is all
I wanna be that good one day
Actually, to put you in the right spot, Scott Johnson DOES write for them. He as well as David Glyde, and Jim Wunderlich write for them. And the writing has everything to do with it. Writing has everything to do with how well a drumline can pull a book off. What I was specifically talking about is how their book is written at a level which takes them all season to clean. There for they never plateau. Have you ever marched in corps. before?
omg
Cadets, Scv Bluecoats, Rhythm x, RCC, hell fucking pulse was clean in 2010. . .
LOL!!! till finals they are
Carolina Crown, Blue Coats, Cavaliers.. well.. cavaliers 2011.
Actually not true, the staff tunes their drums ALOT. When a drum has a lower pitch sound you can "hide" dirt a little, which is what most corps do at the end of the season after changes and polishes to cleanliness have been made and they can let the drum speak more and sound better, producing a cleaner, louder sound. but when they are trying to clean stuff in te early season they tune the drums higher to hear dirt and fix it so they can clean it to ultimately make a louder deep tone at the end.
am i the only one who notices dude right beside the female , his carrier is not centered ?
0:17 HALF OF GOLDS PIT
okay.
Its funny how they love to be dirty up until the last week and a half of the season
Actually these aren't warm ups. This is they're drum break. d: Amazing show though, I loved their 2012 preformance.
Pro-Mark DC 50's
it also has to do with them being inside...
That's kind of the idea.
WOOH!!!! A GIRL on the snare line!!! :-0
But they weren't clean. Doesn't matter what the score sheet says. If you watch videos of them or saw them live early to mid season you'd see that they were clearly not playing clean as Coats, or SCV or even Cadets who really made a ton of progress around mid season. Like I said though, the last couple weeks of the season they really turned it up. Dont forget the pit is also a large part of the percussion score.
