Being from Maharashtra, the name of Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj naturally invokes the sense of pride as one belonging to his blessed land.
However what pains today is the rampant use of his great name, by politicians across the parties to further their nefarious activities with total disregard to the great cause he fought and lived till his death.

He was not a complicated individual at all. I would not use that word. He had great clarity about right and wrong . What makes him’ complicated’ is that he administered justice on merit case by case. He was a true humanist which also means he was a true Hindu. There was no doubt that he fought for ‘ Hindavi’ Swaraj. But his position was nuanced. He did not discriminate on the basis of religion. The ‘ moral’ core that kolhe talks of applies to him more than any other King perhaps. But does Kolhe’s party have that ‘moral’ core?

Dear Its ok, if someone calls Shivaji Maharaj. He/she is not Disrespecting. If you force something then it will create Negative image aganist Shivaji Maharaj. Why i am saying this is that because i care for my King.

@@ashwinidesai4051 we don't force anyone about language. Let alone the pronounciation, we don't even force people to talk in Marathi... that's why one can survive in Mumbai without Marathi but can not without Hindi or English...
