I got really good at moving pictures around in Microsoft Word so they wouldn't mess up the text. I made an "I'm sorry for your loss" card on it with a sad cat picture that read on the inside, "It's me, I'm your loss. Here's my two week's notice."

One of my favorite rage quits I ever saw was one of my co-workers. He went through the restaurant pointing at all of the managers saying, "F you, F you F you, you're cool, F you," in front of customers. He then told the unpleasant assistant manager, "Hurry up, B, you're on my time now. Let's go," as he marched up the stairs to the office to make sure it was official. I had to wipe a tear of joy from my eye. When I left that place a while later, the wussy GM made someone else terminate me and as he walked out of the office where I was waiting outside, he said, "Don't give him anything in writing."
Dear god #21 had me dying. I was in the shower and both woke the dead with my cackling and nearly joined them from slipping. My sides still hurt. That was beautiful.

one story reminded me of a silly story i read on "the daily WTF":
a crazy boss insisted that EVERYTHING be handled with a collection of sticky-notes, and wouldn't not let anyone use computer programs to keep track of anything.
(they were making a videogame, i think)
when the OP said they were going to run out of space on his note-board, he responded by getting a bigger noteboard.
the OP then wrote "I QUIT!" on a sticky-note, jammed it on HIS computer RIGHT in front of his face, and stormed out.
one of her co-workers later told her that a few days later, some sort of problem with the air conditioner caused ALL of his notes to fall onto the floor!
THEN he finally let them use programs...

When I left my job of 10 years, I gave them a "sorry for your loss" card. The loss was me. My favorite manager said it cracked him up.
13:27 It always drives me nuts that so many managers will create a problem, blame their employees for it, then complain about not being 'respected'. Ma'am, you're the one who skimped on safety equipment, you don't get to complain about bus-factoring yourself.
#5 is the best story I've read in a while
I worked for a certain "goth" retailer when I was 24. I was the key holder, which is basically a management position without the pay. They hired a clueless girl from a store that rhymes with "American Beagle" to actually manage and run the store. She was a holy terror from day one, extremely religious, and kept treating all of us like absolute crap. She would often walk up to me and say things like "I know you worship the devil, but could you put these necklaces with crosses on them out?" She would also ask questions like "Do you and your boyfriend sacrifice animals?" or "do you drink blood?" I was (and still am) practicing a nature-based spiritual path, so I didn't even believe in this "Satan" guy.
The same manager also wrote me up for not sweeping the floor because they were doing construction on the store above us after hours and saw dust would be on the floor whenever she came in. When my great grandmother died and I attended the funeral, she wrote me up for an "unexused absence."
Later that summer, Hurricane Katrina ripped my town apart. Absolutely no one would be going to the mall. In fact, one couldn't get out onto the streets, much less downtown.
The uptight manager texted me and told me that I had to come in for my shift. I informed her that we had just had a freaking HURRICANE and that I couldn't get out of my driveway, much less drive to the store. She told me that if I didn't find a way to work the next day, we would "have some paperwork to do."
So, I walked to the end of the street and had a friend of mine pick me up in his ATV. We drove to the mall and sure enough, the store was actually getting ready to open.
I tied my keys to my resignation note and threw them through the locked gate.
I then texted my boss with "I quit. I guess you have some paperwork to do. Don't forget to sweep the floor! HAIL SATAN."
Bonus points because her vacation was scheduled for the next week. I found out later that she had to cancel and was forced to work every single day, sometimes by herself. Revenge is a dish best served cold.
I worked in auto repair for years, and I loved hearing the story at 15:47

I worked on a REALLY bad job in a REALLY bad temporary company which dispatched me to an even crappier privat postal servie company. The job was severely underpaid, I woerked constant nightshifts, but because of a loophole in the contract they managed to pay only compensation for half of the night, no compensation for overtime - which happened quite a lot and at some point the compensation for driving there was cancelled after some tax related law got changed preventing them from circumventing taxes by paying compensations instead of wages.
After that happened the supervisor of that postal service called me into his office for going to the toilett too often and for taking a sip of my red bull that kept me awake overnight too often which he ended with "if you don't want to change that, you could just as well leave." I didn't want to change going to the toilett instead of pissing myself and I didn't want to change drinking the one substance that allowed me to not fall asleep wile working, so I decided to leave. Next morning the manager of the temporary company called me in and tried to convince me to return to that job, claiming that all was a misunderstanding, but I just dropped off my resignation note and told him no.

also a couple of weeks later it all sears closed down

Man, if you have to work at a pizza place, you definitely want to be the delivery driver. Sure, I had to do the dishes, but the tips and all the weed I sold while I was on delivery totally made the job worth it🤣🤣
