I am so looking forward to voting for dr stein. I dont care that she probably wont win. I saw trump win and we all KNEW that could never happen. Yet it did.

Who knew Trump would never win. I argued in 2015 that Clinton as the candidate would guarantee a Trump win. The moment she received the nod, those of us who aren’t in a party knew Trump would be the next president, no matter how much we despised him. Sadly, he is likely to be our next president again because Biden has proven to actually be worse than him, which I didn’t think was possible. I suspected Biden would be equally as terrible as Trump, but he is much more dangerous, and a more effective fascist.
"The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty in their dreams." Jill Stein could win the election with fewer votes than thought, around 26%, if RJK Jr. ends up splitting the vote that would normally be cast in favor of the two-party Duopoly, in 3 instead of 2...

So much to do in so many places. From the outside (in this case from Germany) US "democracy" has looked horribly dysfunctional for so long. The fear mongering always made US politics look like a horror circus from the outside; just distracting people from the lack of positive change. Maybe there is the chance in these bleak times that enough people wake up from their illusions and start to work on challenges that systems can really be changed to being for the many, not the few.
Politics is far from perfect here, too. Some might have seen videos of the German police...Same on a smaller scale. MPs usually vote according to what their party tells them (The German word for this is "Fraktionszwang".). The practice is somehow pragmatically understandable, but given that by our constitution MPs are only bound by their conscience, it is highly problematic. Which leads to the next point: It is obvious that no representation is/ can be perfect, but a MP only bound by his/ her conscience owes not even trying. That is not representation. The problem would arise again, which is why it is not enough to be able to vote someone else into office.
So please be cautious down the road. It might take decades until you get to a point where you really can change the system. Take care that you not just swap the shortcomings of it for new barely less bad shortcomings.
One step at a time it's important to just start walking with direction. Learning to vote third party is part of it. I like Dr. Jill Stein because she shows growth and that means can learn and unlearn fast.

I am not arguing for people to delude themselves regarding the size of the challenges. In that sense I wholeheartedly agree with one step at a time.
However there is also a need for visions that are well thought through and ideally accompanied by a plan to already be there when occasions arise. All the work will be in vain if people only work towards the occasion and then be surprised when it arises. It then might be over before something is really changed for the better.
I've previously viewed a lot of Abby Martin and The Electronic Intifada.
