- A 1996 episode of Ready Steady Cook presented by Fern Britton.
Chefs Brian Turner and Lesley Waters battle to prepare meals with Michelle, a swimmer and into fitness, and Robin, an art director and graphic designer.
Which of the green pepper team, or red tomato team, will triumph?
I don't know the date of this edition but its probably from early 1996. I don't have any more episodes of Ready Steady Cook, just this one.

I have many fond memories of watching this as a child after school! Thanks for uploading!
Used to watch this back in the day, for fern and Leslie especially! Bonus episode.
I was on this show in 1996. I've never seen it!!!! I wish I could find it on UA-cam.
Lucky you. Did it taste good?.....
Who were the chefs and which was yours?
I was a student when this was on, loved it!
Much better than the crap on tv now, they should put these original episode's on weekday afternoons on bbc as it used to be. Im sure the sad sacks of today would be on social media taking the mickey out of it, jealousy is a funny thing.
Thanks for this. I had such a tihng for Fern!
That version of the theme tune. Looking for it for ages
I would watch this after school at my grandmothers whilst she would make me braising steak mash carrots and peas. Miss her

Can someone find the shane richie one.
I used to watch this after school... Never noticed how the theme music sounds completely inappropriate for the show.
But i bet you never forgot it!
@@PaorofSocks I had actually! It sounds like the music from onbe of those boring daytime current affairs shows that used to be on BBC2 at lunchtime...
@@JamesTaylor-dj5me Working Lunch had an awful, awful intro. Baited you good and proper into thinking some fun looking cartoon was about to start, only to be presented with undertaker faced Adrian Chiles
@@paulvarley6347 Haha! Yeah I never understood who they thought would be watching that since anyone interested would surely be working. Or was it common for businessmen to watch TV on their lunch break?
I see bits of CITV at the start and end, will you be uploading them? :)
1996 was 27 years ago. What happened?
Wizadora at the end of the VHS
epic theme tune!
Much preferred anisley presenting it
Didn't realise Annie Lennox was a chef
LOL
More like Paula Yates!
This show wouldn't work now. You'd end up spending around 20 quid for the ingredients.
🤣so true
“Creep” 😂
£3.56 for all that?
1996. You would struggle to get the pork for that now
@@davidtownson1476 Indeed. I suppose Vanessa Feltz really make the most of cheap plentiful pork. Still love her though...
@@Nickelodeon81 it’s not Vanessa feltz!! It’s Fern Britton!!
Is this Aussie show
UK
I like the other host better
I think that man sails on my ship, if you kn ow what i mean😜😜
90s uk tv XD

£100 gift card for the winner??? 😂😂
Fern looks hot here
LOL-LOL(!!!) 😖 / 🙂.
One of the worst theme tunes I've ever heard 😂
Nothing more bloody boring than cookery programes!
Decorating programmes?
And yet here you are.
Songs of praise, Antiques roadshow, to name a few..
People watched this in thier millions. Student’s especially. No internet and only 4 channels back then. It actually started the interest into cooking in the U.K. and helped lots of celeb chefs get well known.
