I was just groovin to “If You Change your Mind” (my favorite ) & the Rasberries concert at The House of Blues on YT this month. Huge loss to the music world. Eric made such beautiful, sad, yet also powerful rock guitar symphonies all at once. Gave me chills over the decades since I heard the Raspberries first come out on the radio. A voice and music truely eternal that lifts my spirits no matter what life throws my way…..but gotta admit this is the worst part of a being in a rock/melody love affair, when a Muse is called back to Heaven. My heart is broken and I can only be so thankful to have lived & listened to the best bands and singers of the rock and roll era. Oh yeah, I still have the albums. Eric and The Raspberries will always be pure gold…and you bet I’m listening tonight and for as long as I live. Rock on forever, Eric.

@@brucetowell3432 ... Eric Carmen's song All by Myself... one of his biggest, is said to have been musically stolen from Rachmaninoff. Story has it that Carmen at the time believed the 1901 music piece was in the public domain. I guess in 1975 when Carmen added the words, the Rachmaninoff estate didn't agree. But eventually they agreed on a settlement. In any case, I commend both parties for allowing the song to continue to be such an emotional and inspirational statement.

Think the number is "This Night" when you listen to the chorus it's almost a note for note copy, think Billy does give Ludwig Van credit by talking about it, but do not believe it's written in parenthesis where the composers are usually found near the title. I don't know, even If I know a tune is in public domain I'm not going to steal it, calling it mine. But that's just me. A female group called "The Toys" stole a tune from Mozart and called it "Lover's Concerto." There are many, many more.

I first saw the raspberries when I was 6 years old on TV… I never forgot that tune and always like Eric Carmen. I do giggle however when I remembered my mother telling me… don’t sing that song… it’s naughty… and all I could ask is… “ why is it naughty… he is going away”….
