Also considering there are so few players in the group in this here combo, the meaning of a tempo fuck up is so much more detrimental to the piece as a whole. You can hear the flaw immediately and I would suggest anything that takes away from their focus and concentration can cause that fuck up. What you said, however, makes me think. How does one see from these artists that they are not feeling the rhythm or enjoying the music? In this piece, they are playing to an empty room I suspect. Hard to smile while playing my saxophone too. Jazz is fun mate but that doesn't mean we'd constantly smile and laugh. It's gotta have some semblance of form to make it sound good and I think they've done a phenomenal job.
They are in the pocket. Swing IS america's orchestral music, and after months of shows on the road I wouldn't look ecstatic to play an arguably easy swing tune either.
most orbit has to do with the military attitude. Also they're trying to be clean across the board which works perfectly here. you can't play the same way in a big band as you would in a small jazz band.

The thing about jazz is it shouldn't be perfect
Actually it's not easy to smile while playing an brass instrument. In fact, I'm not even able to do that while playing the trombone
Hard to smile while playing my saxophone too. Jazz is fun mate but that doesn't mean we'd constantly smile and laugh. It's gotta have some semblance of form to make it sound good and I think they've done a phenomenal job.
It's still the best performance I've heard yet tho
Trust me, they're having fun!!! Whether Killin a solo or some isis scum, Army always have fun!!! Army 77 myself, no combat but had a bunch of fun!!!
Sounds like an orchestra concert, you all need to get to swing'n! Get in the pocket!
Some excellent talent though :-)
They are in the pocket. Swing IS america's orchestral music, and after months of shows on the road I wouldn't look ecstatic to play an arguably easy swing tune either.
yeah they literally play this perfectly
Cool Joule u r right they need to have some fun playing this piece
most orbit has to do with the military attitude. Also they're trying to be clean across the board which works perfectly here. you can't play the same way in a big band as you would in a small jazz band.
*of it
Fantastic my dad was a sergeant Marine Corps and he would’ve been proud of you salute🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Just came from the original recording by Benny and the band. It was RED HOT! Gene Krupa was on FIRE! The horns were ORGASMIC! Benny's clarinet SUBLIME!
This one just kills time.
