I just love your reviews if her music. It’s always so informative. I am her mom. So fun to watch these!! Thank you for doing these!!
Thanks! Your daughter is very talented and I really do love her voice and songwriting!
lizzy’s the best of her generation! what a nice video. lovely to see someone like you appreciate her music, barrett!!!
I like your cozy studio vibes, matched the song very well. Lizzy is one of my favorite musicians. I also got to see her perform last year and I was so impressed with her talent live. A beautiful voice. The production on thinks is top notch.
She did an acoustic version of this song, just her playing guitar and singing. Would love your reaction or explanation of how a simple song like Ceilings gets amplified by production.
Lizzy is truly a fantastic performer and I hope more people like you start to catch up on her talent!!! Wonderful commentary
Wow. 2 Barrett videos in one day, best day ever. ❤❤ I’m a huge Barrett fan, big love all the way from Australia ❤❤
The bridge outro kinda thing really makes that song for me, its a pretty cool turn there. She opens her voice up a bit in that section, would be interested in hearing her totally open it up and let it go. The production is not a soft touch, but it almost plays like it is, somehow not heavy handed despite changing the atmosphere a bunch. The idiosyncrasies of her voice and phrasing and songwriting reminds me of Regina Spektor to some degree- not that they sound alike, there's just a slightly off-kilter something that's similar maybe?
Your talking of structure and what's a verse or chorus immediately brought to mind a song nothing like this one, but it might make a good J.A.G.S- Frank Black's (or Black Francis or Charles or whatever name you prefer) Headache. Anywho, diggin your channel and song choices, sir.
Great reaction! 💗
Amazing voice!
I loved this and you seem like such a lovely and genuine person, gave u a follow instantly ❤️
Could you react to pixel bath by jean dawson hes really unique and i bet you would be surprised of the mixing of genres and his own style he formed through the album.
im not sure if you do album reactions actually, if you could react to power freaks in that album its a great song and im curious what you would think of it
Love, love, love Ceilings, probably my favorite from the album. I have a ticket to one of her shows this year, but probably won't be able to make it :((((
Would like to recommend an artist, MARO (was also a Berklee student) ua-cam.com/video/9FYmDfV86QY/v-deo.html , ua-cam.com/video/yFfFONIyRmQ/v-deo.html , ua-cam.com/video/WD7NCetzIvM/v-deo.html
Regarding the new camera setup: it unfortunately introduced banding, i would recommend buying a variable ND filter, set the shutter speed of the video to 1/60, keep the aperture as it is (so shoot in manual) and use the variable ND filter to get the proper exposure. (and probably i'm the only person who notices it, but the lighting of the studio has a different, cooler color temperature, than your light, it would be awesome if those could be matched)
And totally regardless of this channel and your videos here's one that dunno why i think you might would like (i do so much, they are one of my favorites) ua-cam.com/video/-sbd96dG4dg/v-deo.html It's loud rock, and i know, it's probably not the best idea to pick the one where eveyone has a solo in it so it's super long, but whatever :)
Thanks for the comment. I'll check out MARO, and Yeah I noticed the banding when I was editing, it's because I went to a higher shutter speed, I've gone back to 1/60 and it seems to be fine now.
@@BarrettJonesProducer three things i forgot (meant to comment a week before i actually did, guilty of that this time too, haha)
- you may have figured it our and resolved the banding in the mean time, i haven't checked the newer videos before posting, sorry about that
- you would only need the ND filter if you'd need to step the aperture down and would lose background blur with the 1/60
- but the most important part Tiny Habits performed with her, and forgot to link that video: ua-cam.com/video/nYjShfqXEWo/v-deo.html (also, she toured with Jacob Collier on his previous tour, Tiny Desk video with Jacob: ua-cam.com/video/vPBirt1YhuM/v-deo.html )
