In general, the TI units are faster in response to inputs. This is seen when quickly switching between sonar, downscan, chart, and split screens ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxeAxH15LxhjGlg5-CRYqjTGTEH0tbY4vk recommend The Hook units will show some lag on button pushes and screen switching. The big ticket item though is maps. If you install a mapping card such as Navionics or the free C-Map Genesis which has a lot of map detail, then moving around the map with the cursor or when running down the lake can lag significantly on the Hook units, but is seamless with the TI units.
I have a deeper start and I like it. I learned the layout of the lake but I haven't caught any fish while using it yet. Owned a deeper for 2 weeks and used it 4 fishing days. It's definitely an advantage for learning good spots in the lake.
Certainly a great tool to help learn about a new venue. That's where it really scores in my opinion.
You’re probably not likely to catch anything while using it unless you add a hooklength, some bait and shot it down a bit 🤣

Does it have to be moving to be useful? Or could you set it up like a marker float and leave it in situe and fish next to it for a live feed of your chosen swim? Just ordered one for finding shoals in winter on a new river but this idea seems like it could be fun for summer carping too.

Hi Joe a few years ago I bought the Hummingbird castable sounder and learnt more about my local river in a couple of hours than I had in twenty years of fishing there. I was amazed at the depth variations and all the little channels in the river bed. People scoffed at me but that knowledge has stood me in good stead ever since. I also took it to several local waters that were supposed to be 50 ft deep and they were only 25 ft but people still told me I was wrong. I wasn’t really interested in it as a fish finder but on a big 30 plus ft deep clay pit there were huge shoals of silvers about 4 to 6 ft down which no one fishes for!! Which reminded me about Brogboroug pit in Bedfordshire where I girl who was a windsurfer told me that if she fell off she often literally kicked into loads of fish about 3 ft down in the warm top layers. I never heard about Humminbird castable sounder.. Only Deeper I know, and for a moment is the best!
arturas0608 Hi the Hummingbird was the first castable echo sounder and you didn’t need a smart phone the signal was sent to an independent screen . Other versions the screen was smaller and could be clipped to the rod.

You could definitely use it on the end of a pole as it's not too heavy.
Can you use this from a power boat in deep water?

I'm to too sure because there isn't any weed in those lakes. I think it could be general silt and stuff on the bottom.

Hi there ... Just wondering how is your Deeper scanning green weed on display ??? Is it in the settings ? What’s the catch ? Because on the most reviews I’ve seen people say that it cannot show weed... I’m planning to purchase one for my dad for Christmas so I’m thankful for any advice I can get ...
It was recently updated, as soon as it connects to wifi it updates and will show these features.

I think the range is 50metres before it loses signal. They aren't allowed in matches, but for pleasure sessions/match practice sessions I think they are a great gadget to help with the learning process.
Yeah this is what i meant, to learn a venue its really nice, but for feeder fishing as i do, i often fishing between 30 and 60m i dont know if it could help

Why would you try with a lightning cable? You have to use a micro-usb. Nothing except apple uses that

But cant tell where they are when its thrown. So can you show me. Exactly where it is that it shows that. Cuz I wanna be able to cast it out. An dtop where the fish are at. Yes you can. There will lines and they are fish. Hard to explain on here as I can't put a screen shot up but basically you will have a load of lines and they are fish

Hello! Does it show the water temperature? I saw just 1 video ( ua-cam.com/video/MByIe_ksi60/v-deo.html) where I saw it, but in the other video and in the demo i didn't.
Just look at that steep gradient on the lake being dug. Ridiculous. We fish the margins blindly expecing there to be lke a 2-3ft wide flat spot when in fact it's a frickin ski slope. Any baiting up will be rolling down the hill. Surely the best place to fish on any lake is the bottom of a gradient where tons of bait/natural food will accumulate. re the fish finding. most vids I've watch say it's totally false and repeats fish over and over multiplying them. Still good for things lke shelf finding tho I reckon
