I don’t think you will see this comment since this is an older video.. but wow.. what a knowledge and experience you have. There aren’t many great mechanics like you left. Who put their love in repairing etc Vespa scooters. Great respect to you sir! Greets, a proud Et2 owner from the Netherlands.

Thank you Robot for sharing this Vespa history and also your history! You truly have a passion for these little beasts. Hard to find these days. I hope to revive a 125 Primavera (1974?) for my brother in the near future. Great video and please keep them coming. I picked up a lot of little details that will help me in the future no matter what I am working on.

Thanks for all these information and the memories you share. I still have a 2001 ET2 50ccm/2-stroke which looks very similar to the ET4 , the frame and also the brakes are identical to the 4-stroke 125 model.

Very interesting little history Robot. Thanks for taking the time to share all of this information.
I had a Silver ET4 here in Melbourne Australia, which I traded in for a Red LX150 in 2008. Still have the LX and love it ! I’d really like to get a PX125 as well, but a bit difficult convincing the wife that I need another Vespa !

I remember the ET4 when I was a teenager and the Granturismo later on. Great memories watching that new style parked in Barcelona at the time... thanks Robot for this “echo from the past”! Long live Vespa!

My first Vespa was an Et2 50cc carbureted engine bought new in 1998, it was silver. Than in 2001 I bought a used Et4 125cc that was also a 1998 model, it was in "Livorno blu". In 2006 I bought a used Vespa Px150 that was a 2005 model, in dark silver, but at the same time I bought another Et4 125cc with the LEADER engine, it was a 2003 model. Sold both and bought a brand new Vespa LX 125 3valve i.e. back in 2014, it is in "portovenere green" and it's my actual Vespa. I live in Italy. Things I can say: The fuel injected Et2 50cc 2 stroke engine was a failure, everybody retroffitted them with the carburator because it had so many problems. The 3valve engine on the Vespa Lx never existed in the USA, it was produced from 2012 till 2014. The Et4 125 4 stroke engine in 1996 wasn't a brand new engine for the Vespa, it came from the Piaggio Sfera scooter. Here in Italy the Vespa GT 200cc and 125cc first came out in 2003. I can say for sure that my best and more enjoyable Vespa was the Et4 125cc with the Sfera engine, I loved it, and I'm thinking on buying one to restore in 100% stock form and keep it.

I just bought an ET4 out here in Naples, Italy. The original owner bought it from your shop! I'll have to look at your website and try to get some stickers to cover up some 'Naples Kisses'

Thanks a lot. I bought my first Vespa 2002. An ET4 and now I am driving my fourth Vespa. I bought this summer a mes GTS 300 -22. Preparing my other for selling, but we found a lot of corrosion of it. GTS 300 -16. So I wonder if you could make some attention on corrosion problems in futurum videos, I was surprised when the man who is doing the paintwork showed me how bad it really was… take care. Robot, I'm wanting to buy my first Vespa daily driver grade scooter. So far, all I know is I'd prefer a 4-stroke with automatic transmission, and I'm open to any and all years. Are there any models you'd recommend I look at? I'm in the U.S.A. if that helps. Thanks! Scott

Love the history here robot! As it happens I own to ET fours. A 2001 model and a 2002 model. My 2001 with very low miles starts and idles just fine but unless it’s completely warmed up when you hit the throttle it leans out and dies. Even when it is warmed up and on the road for several minutes it is slow out of the hole. Has no trouble reaching 50 miles an hour after that flat spot. My 2002 model with high miles has none of these issues. What do you think I’m looking at?

11:24 "50 years of quality" my piaggio vespa et2 from 1997 (50cc version of the et4) came with a 12 from weber witch is now a dead company, no dellorto fancy stuff. i know that in the megazine they are comparing an old vespa with a sfera that was probably their newest model but you cant say you mount dellorto on scooters when you mount some weber carbs to save some bucks.

Just bought the 219.00 bolt on performance exhaust. Your shop says it’s a bolt on and since mine is a 2001, it says I don’t need to rejet the carb. Any video on the installation process? Anybody have any experience with this?
