EICR with mad Earth Leakage!

- EICR carried out after client was worried with the state of the electrical installation.
Client mentioned they had issues which have never been resolved with intermittent tripping of the main house RCD
The earth leakage tester is an invaluable tool for a sparky when carrying out EICR’s or fault finding
Watch me as I go round and inspect, test & comment on my findings
No rehearsals, no fancy intros, no sponsors , just real world sparky stuff.
I was unable to film every part of every test, all relevant tests were carried out.
Enjoy!
Another fascinating video mate👍
it looks like one of those eicr’s that is a miserable fail just on visuals before you even get the mft out!! I really should make more use of my earth leakage clamp, it’s a great diagnostic tool, enjoying your content! 👍👍
Great video mate, big fan of the channel and most of all your instagrams stories which I check most days! Keep the content up and continue doing what you do. 👌Always feel like I learn something or take something away from it!
10 minutes in and I’ve paused it and bought the same clamp meter. About time really!
Bloody hell, what a mess!
100%
Great video, some interesting finds there
The ramp test result of 25mA means that the RCD tripped once 25mA of fault current was introduced. Therefore around 5mA of existing fault current was present.
The ramp test was carried out with all of the MCB’s isolated.
At 10:00 I guess thats not the leakage current you are measuring or did you bypass the RCD to measure it without having the RCD activate?
No RCD
Seems like I missed that, I watched it again and you also said that around 12:00
im sure that RAMP should be done with circuits in the ON position....therefore it would have tripped out at about 7 or 8 milli amps
Whats that magnet for your Megger bud?
Enjoy your videos👍

Why do you remove the bonding from the clamp?
By doing so you're not proving the clamp is connected to the pipe correctly just continuity of the bonding cable.
Otherwise I could test parallel paths and not confirm the continuity of the protective bonding conductor. Eg a common parallel path would be a cpc from the boiler supply
GREAT VT
third comment! 😍
😂😂😂😂
