    Would like to add a wireless roaming cam for IMAG at a number of different events - Production company who does work with churches, as well as other local and regional events. Since it's Black Friday and was on sale for under 500$ I decided to go ahead and grab it and try it out with our GH5s and gimbal rig. I typically record in 24fps, 1080p but because of the set up we have with our ATEM TV Studio switcher we typically have to scale things to 1080i @ 60fps. Just means we'll look into getting more scalers in order to run everything at 24fps. Always enjoy watching your videos and take on equipment in the AV world.

    I like how technology is getting cheaper and cheaper/ more accessible 😊 Awesome video

    I record/stream at 24fps as it gives me the most cinematic look and motion blur (I'm not looking for slow Mo), it also gives me a little extra recording space when doing 4K recording in Camera.
    So this wireless video system would be perfect for my use as the latency will be even lower.
    I was initially planning on saving up for the Teradek spark 4k, but its probably cheaper, and worth getting 2 of these instead.

    We use hard-lines for our livestream cameras, but I’ve been experimenting with the idea of a wireless rig using a Teradek or Cinegears. This could be a decent alternative since we stream in 24. Thanks for the review!

    Livestream cameras. We are actually running all 3 of our camera over the Hollyland Mars system. Given that all of them are on the same delay I just delay the audio going to the livestream. That being said, my current audio delay to sync with video is 408ms. Which was about 150ms prior to the Hollyland system. So Hollyland added 258ms of delay. That’s our current setup.

      Wowza! That's a lot of latency. Kinda forces you out of hard wiring anything.

      @@RylandRussell yes it does. We had put a single camera on the Hollyland system through a donation so our handheld camera could be wireless. The delay was so bad we couldn’t really do close ups without it looking bad. So we just went all in and got two more to make the whole system match delay.

    Could you receive multiple signals (from multiple transmitters) into one receiver and switch between them? This would be very useful feature for one-man-band multicam production, for example in live-events to check status and framing between different cameras instead of running around the venue.

    Live stream cameras are where we need zero latency, but for a lobby monitor or difficult to run cable location, this could be great. Thanks.

    Ryland, do you ever do any consulting? Our church really needs some help to get to the next level. I have lots of questions that I would love to get your advice on. Big fan and thank you for what you’re doing. It is very helpful to us.

    Ryland, I saw at the end you showed the Teradek Spark 4k. If you or any one in the comments use that transmitter, do you have a solution to plug it into an external battery? I've been looking around and trying some stuff, but there seems to be some issue with the amount of power it needs.

    • @RylandRussell

      We haven’t tried it with an external battery. That’s one of the reasons I still prefer the ace 500 😀

      Hmm we've been using it every week without any issues. Did you try adjusting the channels on the units?

  • @MarkECoburn
    @MarkECoburn Рік тому

    We tried both of the Teradek systems that you have and the Accsoon CineEye 2 Pro. Like you said, Teradek is zero latency.
    We also run at 30-ish FPS, but we found that if we capture and transmit on the Accsoon at 60 FPS, the latency seems to be half as long as the same thing at 30. We run everything into an ATEM Mini Pro... so it automatically scales it to 30-ish FPS at the switcher.
    Do you still have the CineView Quad? I wonder what you would find if you put the camera on 60 FPS... if the latency would be less.
    Also, I wonder what the impact of various wireless video systems has on the overall wireless situation of a venue. Do some of them start to impact wireless microphones or in-ear systems?

    • @RylandRussell
      @RylandRussell  Рік тому

      Ya we have a 5ghz disabled in worship center. Interesting findings with the 60fps. We have old atems without converters though.

    • @sethwengermusic
      @sethwengermusic Рік тому

      I have found the exact same thing to be true with the Hollyland C1 and 400s pro units. Our atem is set to 30fps, but is the new constellation HD switcher so it has scalers. The latency on the Hollyland drops significantly when changing the cameras to 60fps and allowing the switcher to scale them back to 60fps.
      A little less motion blur on those cameras, but the latency is much more usable. I've got the accsoon in the mail too, looking forward to testing that one

    Ive had differant setups in the past but now im looking at Ninja V with AtomX for multicam recording for final delivery. So im not searching for 4K but FHD solution atm, but the transmitter i need it needs to be lossless and zero latency transmission. I dont care about hdr nor 422, 8 bit 420 is fine, but i dont wanna see any difference between the wired and the wireless feed. What is your recommended product for wireless solutions?
    I shoot 2-3 times per week at least 6 hours nonstop events. There is only enough time to change batteries and thats all. Desperately need your suggestions.

    My company is needing up to 4 units to be used siultaneosly to broadcast live stream for soporate confrerences. I have heard that the hollyland units don't work well when using multiple units. WHich system do you suggest for running multiple units for 1080p live streaming or multi-cam podcasts to a switcher?
