I just seen this video and that is a great 👍 idea on the the rehab for 10 mins. And it's NOT A OPTION! And the rehab truck is AMAZING 👏 to all the firefighter, chiefs that designed it.
Thats a nice thought, but impractical. You are making them more at risk by having them doff their PPE than if they were to just keep it on. And seriously, putting pads down so they don't walk on the ground? The entire point of rehab is to create an environment where scene personnel can rest for a few minutes, not create a sterile environment. You aren't doing surgery. And if your far enough away to be free from smoke, you're too far away to be of use. Whats the point of installing a bathroom if you are only going to use it on prolonged incidents? Contractor to drain it? I've been on calls where people on the crew can't complete a basic EMS run without using a bathroom. When you got to go, you got to go. This is clearly a department that doesn't know how to spend money wisely nor do they have a grasp on practical procedures.
This is what happens when the leadership bureaucracy gets too far away from the front lines. I'm alway looking for new rehab Ideas, but this has way too many moving parts. Ya know its funny, a lot of full time guys turn their nose up at VFD guys (hobbyists I have heard) But we know how to do things like this for a fraction of the price and 1/10th of the personnel.

It's a nice concept, I just think there are too many steps to get medically screened. It's kinda stupid
