Heresy! You are using Windows 11! JK. One interesting thing about the routers is the hidden reset mode if you mess up the firmware. You set a TFTP server and send a firmware file to your router.

Yes you can. That just acts as a wired connection and most of the time gets you better more consistent speeds

Use your phone browser to accomplish the same thing from the wifi side.

I usually just use whatever router the ISP gives me with the broadband deal, although I change WiFi password straight away I also change the router admin password and disable WPS pin authentication.

Nope, and typically I put my own router on anyway so I have control of settings. Sometimes ISPs will lock you out
