New island retreat in the Bahamas
Beginning in Summer 2024, Disney Cruise Line will welcome guests to a unique island destination for the first time at Lighthouse Point on the island of Eleuthera in the Bahamas. Created in close collaboration with local artists and consultants, the vibrant island retreat is dedicated to Bahamian culture.

Designed with families in mind, Lighthouse Point is designed to offer a relaxing beach vacation, imbued with the color and energy of Bahamian art and developed with a commitment to conservation.
When guests arrive at Lighthouse Point, they are greeted by distinctive, curved architecture in bright, saturated tones - a bold style inspired by nature and created in collaboration with local artists.
At first glance, the curvilinear buildings look like Bahamian shells scattered along the coast. Upon closer inspection, guests will discover artistic expressions of the native flora and fauna of the Bahamas, as well as the pageantry and history of the Junkanoo parades. Throughout Lighthouse Point there will be references to playful folklore characters and the charm of local culture.
Respect for the environment is at the heart of the design. At least 90 percent of the destination’s electricity needs will be met by an on-site solar array, the pier has been designed to avoid the need for dredging, and elevated walkways will help limit impact on the landscape.
At Lighthouse Point, families are to enjoy a day of fun in the sun while relaxing on pristine beaches, embarking on active adventures and discovering the magic of Bahamian storytelling alongside beloved Disney characters. Similar to Disney’s cruise ships and the private island of Castaway Cay, Lighthouse Point will offer activities and areas for all ages.

We were just at this spot today. The Disney experience is well under construction. While I appreciate the need for jobs on Eleuthra, man o man could they not have found a different spot. This is one of the nicest spots that I have seen. If you're on Eleuthra go there. Now. Before they are bringing in the many people that are sure to come.
Well said. I visited before construction and it was just a natural site to behold, undistrubed mangroves, birds and the rocks terrain. The cove beach was beautiful, I'd never seen anything like that. A jeep was parked by the area leading to the beach and luggage was on the back. So glad I visited before it became a tourist trap.

Does Disney really expect this to compete with the likes of coco cay and ocean cay? This doesn’t impress me tbh
It’s not meant to impress you. Does Castaway Cay impress you? Probably not. It’s meant as a place for families to go and enjoy themselves.
