We cut the sorghum with a mower and then bale it. We have another variant that grows longer than corn. Sometimes we plough it in and leave it in the ground for about 6 months or longer. We also harvest it with a forage harvester for silage.
The train only charges for the time you use it. Doesn't charge a full hour. As soon as you have returned the train you will just be charged for the minutes/seconds that you've had it. Loving the series and can't wait to get home from work to play!
34:35 that cut and whole thing cracked me the hell up haha! Loving the series so far and am stoked to pick this up hopefully early next year! I only just got into FS19 and am having a good time. I have learned so much watching these. Like I did not even know you could just pick up the bags with the spikes. I thought you need the bag lifter haha. Crazy how deep the rabbit hole goes in FS. Keep up the great work!
No need to get both the mowers for the amount your doin just the single rear Kuhn mower would hav done well and sell the styer and put the loader on the massey or something don’t need the styer but great videos keep it up 👍
When harvesting sorghum in real life you only take the heads off and it leaves the stalks which in real life can be cut raked and baled for cattle and/or mulch for gardens
@@danielhudson1690 What you are seeing is a different type of sorghum called tall sorghum or sweet sorghum. What the game is showing us commonly called milo in the US. I have grown both. We cut the heads off of the tall sorghum (we call in sumac or rox orange) and then bale the stalks for cattle feed. They love it. For the milo, you can bale it as well, but we just let the cattle graze on it in standing in the field after the heads have been cut. Both types of sorghum can be used for silage as well.
I can't get over how much better the textures for the grass being flung around by the windrower and the chaff being spat out by the combine are compared to 19
Direct selling from the greenhouses takes 40% of the money for transport costs. you are losing a lot of money from not delivering it yourself. you already have the trailer and the crates can be picked up by hand.
But he is recording a let's play video. While delivering would yield more money, it would be boring to watch for the purposes of this content. Similarly, the grapes, bees and sheep were also done prematurely. He could have easily done 4 or 5 greenhouses for much better profit but that would not be better to watch. The sheep are adorable.

Quick little fyi. Initially sorghum ingame was cut low as rest of cereals but it turns out thats not how its done in real so they redid that. I believe they mentioned this somewhere themself in a podcast.
My home town has a sorghum festival. When I asked my dad what it was, he told me it was like maple syrup. Possibly the biggest food related disappointment of my childhood. :P

So i started this map, after several hours still on day 1. Managed to sell the small red tractor, seeder. Bought implements, bought 2 of the JD tandem direct seeder/fertilizer from the mod…. Planted canola, wiped everything pit and put grass. Also bought i nice modded windrower and good front and back butterfly mower. SOLD the header trailer, BOUGHT the header trailer….. its been a good learning experience.

Great video @Daggerwin do fertilizing contracts they pay very well epspiecally if you do multiple fertilizing contracts since fs22 allows you to take 3 contracts at a time.
GIANTs " No our pallets and bails have all been fixed and no longer have odd interaction or runaway bails for no good reason. We are super excited about this accomplishment " First week of game release, multiple people are flipping trailers and chasing bails halfway across the map and even into lakes to get bails lol.
You should try out the Zamboni pattern on your fields - it's intended to be very efficient. And maybe put the honey on the pickup - both makes the trailer available all the time, and it gives you a reason to use it :)
If you transport the crop to railroad silo north before leasing the train, you won't need it for very long. That silo is right on the border of the map, so for me the leasing usually end up like €60-70
Installed FS 22 this morning and definitely need a steering wheel. I used keyboard and mouse for FS 19. It wasn't the best but it was tolerable for all the longer I played it. Surely the roller was a great buy from the used machinery section, since you always have that stone problem every time you plough or cultivate? Plus the obvious tractor to sell is the Valtra... bite the bullet! Solve all your money problems😁 And isn't there some wheat to sell as well?
pallets of strawberries which are already spawned are not being counted towards volume which is shown in manu. you have 200-300 litres more than it says

The reason sorghum is cut so high is because the grain is just at the top of each plant and in real life would be a load on the harvester to cut the crop low
You wont believe this, I had a JD 6120M dropnose and a McCormick X7 turn up used with low hours for really cheap in the used store just a day apart, so of course the Steyr and the Valtra have left to make way for some 150k worth of tractors, the JD with 140hp and the McCormick having 210hp
Did you have to lease and use a windrover? Couldn't you make do with driving a baler up and down a few extra times and save money and maybe even time for such a small field?
This would be a good game, but for now it's really poorly executed. Trees and pallets are even worse than before. AI is bad. Some trailers are bugged. Lighting sucks for a 2021 game.
