I was brought up Dietrich Fischer-Deiskau and the Shubert, Wolf and Mahler lieder. I have never liked a womens voice because it gets lost in the orchestra. So I think this is also a triumph of conception and execution as well as a wonderful voice.
@@robertzeek4020 Never liked a woman's voice? But it is the greatest of all instruments! Nothing compares to the woman's voice; it has depth and breadth and emotional scope not available to any other instrument, even to a man. How can you like music if you do not love the woman, the joy and beauty of the world?
@@abirdthatflew "in the Ruckert Lieder" because of the keys it uses and where the female voice must sit in the orchestration it is competing with other soprano instruments. I love female voices. And that is how I know what an outstanding version this is. She is using the darker alto voice to shade her soprano. You can hear it and feel it.
What wonderful control and exquisite interpretation of the music
So beautiful!
Esa voz, cuanta ternura,¡¡por dios!!!
Bravo bravisimo !!
Incredibile bellezza!
All credit to Mr Rattle for staying back and letting the lady go to the front. Best version I've ever heard.
Abirdthatflew: word is.....he let the lady get on top .... or bottom.....
