Bro you have your hands on a COLLECTOR'S ITEM there. That is the "test" box and "test" book cover. The version which will be released in approx Feb has the UPDATED artwork. You have a gem.
@LetsTableIt Question... in the Rulebook (not sure what page but it begins "Start Playing" and talks about turn order, in the page section right before it starts talking about the "six hero actions"). Does it say anything about the heroes getting to change the order in which they take their turns in the middle of a quest? I ask because that's a rule that was added in the Jungles of Delthrak expansion, but was curious if it was mentioned in First Light too. Thanks!
Did Avalon Hill say anything more about what parts of the review copy were "not final" (or "subject to change")? I mean besides the cover of the booklet/box and dice color...
@@LetsTableIt it was worth a shot! people are asking for high res images of all of the book pages and cards. I know you can't really do that for the public (same for every other early unboxing out there), but did you notice any other "new rules" mentioned? We saw Sly Storage and Healing Hearth, the Dragon's powers. altered card mechanics (Command, Courage, Dwarf hero, Orc's Bane, Potion of Speed) anything else that stands out different from 2021 GS? Yes, the Arena rules from ATOH appear, so too the "multi-stage" monsters, passing items, dividing large treasures, and "large monsters" mentioned in other expansions, but besides that? Also noticed there are a few new items that don't have cards (not everything has to have its own card of course). Thanks in advance!
@@TheFair-WeatherMan Zargon does say a few words to the heroes in the original as well (I am talking about the 1990 NA edition of course, it was Morcar in the original, I think he only talks in ATOH)
@@LetsTableIt if you're allowed, I'd please say go over the "changes" in First Light. like compare the old cards (Command, Courage, Orc's Bane, Dwarf, Potion of Speed) and the miniatures up close (Game System vs. First Light). I think people would love that. If you happen to have the Mythic tier, showing the differences between the dragon card & miniature in that set to this one would be something people would love to see too I bet!
I've seen (but the text is blurred) that in the line of sight they talk about the furniture! I'm very curious to read what they write about it, and if the line of sight is blocked by them or not! Will you just tell us what is written?
How is this different than the original starter set released a few years ago? I still have my original from 1990! But I've been curious about getting the new one.
Thanks for showing this. I now know to save my $50 instead of feeling like I needed this added to my collection for HeroQuest. The dragon mini isn't enough for me to drop money on it.
I like the new hero minis. the caverns on the back of the gameboard is also pretty cool (you can't quite re-create it with the room tiles from the other expansions combined, although you can re-create some of it, like the arena from ATOH)

I think you’re first out of the gate to unbox. Thanks for showing! Also let me know if you’re looking to sell 😊
Congratulations on being the first to do an unboxing, great video.
Looking forward to checking out your other videos, hope you have more HQ!
I really like that old cover (the one getting so much AI criticism. Can't help it, I like it).
thanks for posting. I'm glad the COVER has changed... the old one [the one in this video] was terrible
Isn't this the old cover (the first one made using AI)?
@carlosbarreto4695 Yes, this is the old cover. It looks like he got a demo box before they changed the artwork. He's siting on cardboard gold!

Hi I pre-ordered the first light but have to wait till February next year to get it
Yes, I believe that’s when its release is scheduled.

Not to me...

That box will reach higher value than the mythic tier on eBay 😁
I would rather have the mythic tier

picking apart every frame... lots of things we hadn't seen before!
Yes, like how Zargon is talking to the heroes in the intro to the game. I thought that was Mentor in the original.
Is there something I should do a video for next?
@LetsTableIt Yes! About that time, HeroQuest fans went crazy over one of your videos. Ha! Nice work, buddy.

Ty for the unboxing
It's always nice to know what's included inside. Hope you enjoyed it.

This is suppose to be a way to get new HeroQuest players interested in questing. It has some new things, but not a lot.
looks like the baddies lack minis. They look to be cardboard cutouts
Where is it available to purchase?
As others have mentioned, this is pretty much all new to everyone. You need to dive deeper into this asap.
I have that letter opener.
Mine is from Spain...
How did you get your hands on a version of 1st Light with the Ai art cover?
Gotta subscribe to find the ways.
That box is valuable

AI Art!
looks more like a dumbed down child friendly cheaper version of the original game to me. Game Workshop tried something similar with their stuff
How can you dumb down Hero Quest?
All a bit of a con really. At least we get a new board.
